Boom!
Seeing this terrifying spiritual energy, Peng Du halted his advance, then retreated in shock while unleashing a powerful palm strike towards the black-cyan spiritual energy.
Had he not reacted in time and charged forward, he was certain that even as a Martial King, he would have suffered greatly.
“Hiss! Hiss!”
The black-cyan spiritual energy clashed with Peng Du’s palm strike. The formidable Martial King palm force seemed to be devoured and incinerated, emitting a series of crackling sounds. Ultimately, it managed to neutralise a strike from a low-tier Martial King.
“Whoosh!” Coming to his senses, Master Yuling swiftly conjured a palm imprint formed from spiritual energy and sent it hurtling towards Lin Xiao.
Materialised spiritual energy—this was the technique of a fourth-rank spirit controller!
“Roar!”
At that moment, beside Lin Xiao, Ling Hu threw his head back and let out a sky-shattering beastly roar. The rolling sound waves shook the entire auction hall.
A tremendously terrifying surge erupted from Ling Hu’s body. Lin Xiao, Qingyun, Hu Yue, and those nearby were flung backwards. The surrounding private room tables and chairs disintegrated into splinters, scattering in all directions.
Master Yuling’s incoming spiritual imprint shattered instantly.
“Roar!”
Ling Hu’s roars continued unabated, the entire place trembling. The auction building teetered on the verge of collapse. An overwhelmingly powerful and ancient aura surged ceaselessly, as if from primordial times.
“Trouble! He’s undergoing beast transformation!” Master Yuling shouted in alarm. His retreating figure, forced back by the shockwave, steadied itself with spiritual energy. He drew a dagger, infusing it fully with fourth-rank primary spiritual energy.
“Whoosh!”
With a fierce flick, the dagger transformed into a streak of lightning slicing through the air, carrying immense power as if it could pierce the void, speeding forward.
Yet, wave after wave of energy erupted from Ling Hu, the relentless fluctuations repeatedly blocking the dagger’s advance.
The dagger halted in mid-air several metres from Ling Hu. Under Master Yuling’s control, it struggled against the powerful waves for a moment before being forcibly repelled.
Daggers were one of a spirit controller’s means of attacking enemies, a tool almost every spirit controller carried for sudden assaults.
Yet Master Yuling’s surprise attack couldn’t even get close to Ling Hu.
Amid the rolling waves, the crowd watched as Ling Hu’s body turned a fiery red.
Then came the sound of ripping clothes and tearing flesh. Ling Hu’s right arm began to swell, its skin splitting apart. Streams of blood flowed from the cracks.
Finally, under the crowd’s stunned gazes, Ling Hu’s arm transformed into a massive beast claw. As it emerged, the very air seemed to tremble, and an incomprehensibly terrifying fluctuation radiated from his arm.
Rolling clouds of ghostly red mist spread from Ling Hu’s limb.
Roar!
Ling Hu let out a series of beastly roars, his aura reaching an apex of ferocity. He seemed to embody a savage beast, the entire space filled with a wild, domineering, primal energy.
Within that aura lingered a chilling, sinister undertone.
“He’s successfully beast-transformed? How is this possible?”
Peng Du, flung back by the force, stared at Ling Hu’s body in disbelief, his face a mask of incredulity.
A ninth-rank Heavenly Martial cultivator had withstood the power of the Beast Transformation Pill without exploding and achieved a successful transformation?
It seemed easier than if Peng Du himself had taken it.
“Ah!” Peng Du let out a roar of frustration. He’d waited over a decade for this pill, painstakingly gathering everything needed, sacrificing several Martial Kings’ blood to refine it.
Only to end up paving the way for someone else.
Boom!
In his fury, he unleashed a dazzling palm strike. Its mountain-toppling force pressed through the void, crashing towards Ling Hu.
Roar!
Ling Hu’s pupils widened as he glared ahead. Clenching his fist, the air seemed to quiver. With a single punch, a blood-red dark light burst from his hand.
Having consumed the pill refined by the devouring ancient array, his body was no longer bound by the array’s restrictive force.
Boom!
A radiant, dark-red fist beam shot forth, carrying a primal aura that rolled outward. It collided with Peng Du’s powerful palm strike, shattering the Martial King’s momentum in an instant. The clash turned into a massive shockwave, blasting in all directions.
The dark-red fist beam continued its surge. Peng Du’s face twisted in horror—the punch surpassed even his own strength.
In a panic, he hastily summoned his potent primal energy, raising both palms to block in front of him.
Yet, under the force of that prehistoric beast-like power, Peng Du’s body was still sent flying. A mouthful of blood sprayed from his lips.
At that moment, Ling Hu’s eyes gleamed with bloodlust. His body crouched slightly, then his feet slammed into the ground. Like a primordial beast, he leapt forward, covering dozens of metres in a single bound, landing in the hall.
He landed right where the Mo Alliance members stood, beside Mo Xuan and Mo Chang.
Their faces contorted with sheer terror, a heavy sense of impending death gripping their hearts.
The array’s power still bound them, preventing any retreat. They could only watch helplessly as the beast claw stabbed towards their chests.
“No!” Mo Xuan let out a scream as Ling Hu’s claw plunged into his chest.
“Hiss! Hiss!” The claw, as if alive, rapidly sucked the essence blood from Mo Xuan’s body. In an instant, Mo Xuan was drained dry, reduced to a shrivelled corpse. His desiccated face remained frozen in a look of boundless horror.
Clearly, he’d been terrified to the core by the beast-transformed Ling Hu.
The crowd was stunned by the sight. A beast-transformed being was indeed fearsome—unaffected by the local array, its power had reached a horrifying level, with a single claw capable of devouring human blood.
The Mo Alliance members grew even more terrified. With Mo Xuan’s gruesome death, it wouldn’t be long before their turn came.
“Splat!” After tossing Mo Xuan’s corpse aside, Ling Hu’s claw pierced Mo Chang’s body, draining his blood in the same manner.
“Splat!” “Splat!” “Splat!”…
Like a bloodthirsty beast, Ling Hu strode forward, draining the blood of one person with each step.
“How could this happen?” Beside Lin Xiao, Qingyun lay sprawled on the ground, her voice trembling with fear.
“When a Beast Transformation Pill is refined with blood, even if the transformation succeeds, it still requires vast amounts of essence blood to sustain it. Especially right after the transformation, a massive replenishment is needed,” Lin Xiao said, his face grave as he stared at Ling Hu.
Ling Hu’s state reminded him of the blood demon body he’d once encountered—devouring human blood—though it differed slightly. Techniques effective against a blood demon body wouldn’t work here.
“Don’t let him consume enough blood, or he’ll grow even stronger!” Master Yuling shouted, soaring into the air. A spiritual imprint formed mid-air, radiating powerful spiritual fluctuations as it struck towards Ling Hu.
Hearing this, Peng Du was the second to charge forward, yelling, “Everyone, attack!”
The City Lord’s Mansion forces trembled, their faces etched with fear.
But under the City Lord’s command, they sprang into action, unleashing their strongest auras and joining the assault.
