The Heavenly Sword Sect Leader and the sect’s members saw the Wanderer appear, hope igniting in their eyes.
“Could the Wanderer be here to help us? If so, there might be a sliver of hope!”
They didn’t know if he could resolve this, but his presence undeniably gave them a glimmer of hope.
“Gu family head, esteemed sect leaders, aren’t you going too far? You’re all renowned figures, yet you gang up on a junior, aren’t you afraid the world will laugh at you if this gets out?”
The Wanderer’s face darkened, his icy voice echoing through the sky, tinged with anger.
“So it’s Senior Wanderer, we’ve no choice in this, Lin Yun has provoked us time and again, this is merely retribution,” the Gu family head said.
The Gu family and many of the present sects had ties with the Wanderer, the Gu family even sent their genius to train under him, a testament to his standing.
Given his prestige, even the Gu family head addressed him as ‘Senior’.
“I don’t care why, Lin Yun’s my cherished disciple, I’m protecting him, stop this at once!” the Wanderer’s voice boomed, his tone unyielding.
The Gu family head and the Zhutian Alliance sect leaders’ faces shifted slightly.
Things had escalated this far, they’d completely broken with the Heavenly Sword Sect, how could they turn back now?
Having seen Lin Yun’s fearsome potential, how could they let this ‘tiger’ return to the wild? If he grew stronger, he’d surely seek revenge, spelling endless trouble.
“Senior Wanderer, forgive us, we can’t agree to that, even if it means offending you, Lin Yun and the Heavenly Sword Sect must be destroyed today!” the Gu family head said firmly.
“Gu family head, splendid, so you’re set on crossing me?” the Wanderer’s face grew colder.
“If you see it that way, so be it,” the Gu family head replied.
Though they didn’t want to offend the Wanderer, if he insisted on aiding Lin Yun, they’d risk it!
“And you eleven sect leaders, is this your stance too?” the Wanderer’s chilling gaze swept over them.
“Yes, Senior Wanderer!”
The sect leaders answered in unison.
At this point, as part of the Zhutian Alliance, they were tied together, sharing glory or ruin.
A single sect might not dare defy the Wanderer, but with so many factions united, they had the clout to stand firm.
“Senior Wanderer, I’d advise you to heed a junior’s counsel, don’t wade into this mess, it’ll only bring you unnecessary trouble, once fighting starts, it benefits no one,” the Gu family head said.
“Since you’re set on this, don’t blame me for being impolite,” fury blazed in the Wanderer’s aged eyes.
As he spoke, two more figures flew in, joining him.
It was his close friend, Du Yuanzi.
“Wanderer, leave the array to me!” Du Yuanzi said.
With that, Du Yuanzi began dismantling the spatial lockdown, his mastery of arrays was among the best in the Xingwu Empire, this lockdown relied on an artifact’s formation.
“Gu family head, the Wanderer and Du Yuanzi seem ready to fight us, what now?” the Soul Refining Sect Leader asked.
“We fight! No one can sway our resolve to wipe out the Heavenly Sword Sect today, not even the Wanderer!” Gu Dong snarled viciously.
“Strike Lin Yun before he breaks the seal!”
With that, the Soul Refining Sect Leader thrust out a palm, golden light surging as energy coalesced, forming an invisible giant hand of terrifying power, it shot towards the ship, space quaking and wailing in its wake!
“Soul Refining Sect Leader, you dare!” the Wanderer, outside the lockdown, saw this, his eyes widened, his roar shaking the heavens.
“Trouble!”
The Heavenly Sword Sect Leader, witnessing this, tried to rush over to block it. But the Gu family head intercepted him with an attack, preventing any chance to aid Lin Yun.
Unable to help, the Sect Leader left this move to Lin Yun alone!
The distant crowd watched the palm strike intently, wondering how Lin Yun would fare this time.
If he’d exhausted his tricks, this blow could very well kill him!
In the battlefield.
“Here it comes again.”
Facing the rapidly descending invisible hand, Lin Yun’s expression grew grave.
He knew even if he dodged, the strike would hit the ship below, killing Zhi Jin, Elder Mei, and the others, he had to face it himself!

Though the artifact absorbed the brunt, the gap between him and his foe was too vast, he still suffered backlash.

The crowd erupted in astonishment.

“Agreed!”
The other ten sect leaders nodded, raising their palms, channeling inner strength.
The Soul Refining Sect Leader powered up again.
“Strike!”
All eleven sect leaders, including him, thrust their hands forward, immense inner strength surging in their palms, clearly aiming to hit Lin Yun together.
“So many attacks, this time, no matter how many tricks Lin Yun has, he’s likely done for!”
“He blocked the Soul Refining Sect Leader’s last strike but spat blood, now with over a dozen Tribulation Realm experts attacking at once, there’s no way he can resist!”
