Upon hearing this, the Fourth Elder of the Tianqiong Clan felt his heart twitch violently.
He couldn’t fathom how Lin Yun could have forged a connection with a being like the dragon clan. Logically, the dragon clan resided deep within the Endless Sea, far beyond the reach of humans.
Yet, no matter how unbelievable it seemed to him, the truth was staring him in the face.
Before long, the only team left on the entire island was the Tianqiong Clan.
The Baili Clan and the other teams had all been wiped out.
“Esteemed lords of the dragon clan, may… may I leave now?” the Mo Sha leader asked nervously, looking at Little Cyan Dragon.
“Don’t ask me—ask my brother! If he nods, you can go. If he doesn’t, this matter isn’t over!” Little Cyan Dragon replied, his draconic authority radiating.
“This…”
The Mo Sha leader had no choice but to turn to Lin Yun, adopting a humble tone. “Young sir, I’ve apologised and done what needed to be done. Please be merciful and let me go.”
“You may retreat,” Lin Yun nodded.
The outcome was already satisfactory for Lin Yun, and there was no need to press further. He also didn’t want to cause trouble for Little Cyan Dragon.
Seeing Lin Yun’s approval, the Mo Sha leader finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Withdraw!”
With that command, the Mo Sha leader led his elite Mo Sha Clan forces away from the island.
In the blink of an eye, the Mo Sha leader and all the demonic sharks had completely departed.
The island fell silent.
“Miss Ying’er, we should head back too,” the Fourth Elder of the Tianqiong Clan said.
He naturally didn’t want to linger here a moment longer.
Lin Yun smiled at Yu Ying. “Ying’er, you go back first. When the time is right, I’ll come to fulfil my promise.”
“Mm! I’ll wait for you, Brother Yun!” Yu Ying nodded eagerly, a happy smile spreading across her face.
The two bid farewell, and Yu Ying left with the Fourth Elder’s team aboard their flying vessel.
Lin Yun watched the vessel disappear into the distance before finally looking away.
After their departure, the island was left with only Lin Yun, Little Cyan Dragon, and the five-clawed golden dragon.
“I’m jealous of you, you stinky brat—winning a beauty’s heart. Must feel pretty good, huh?” Little Cyan Dragon teased with a mischievous grin.
“You rascal, still as shameless as ever. By the way, how have things been going for you in the dragon clan these past few years?” Lin Yun asked.
Little Cyan Dragon’s grin faded, replaced by a serious expression.
“It’s been far more complicated than I expected, but it’s been manageable, I suppose. For the next few years, I’ll have to stay with the dragon clan to deal with these matters—I can’t get away. If you hadn’t come to the Endless Sea this time, it might’ve been years before we saw each other again,” Little Cyan Dragon explained.
“Then be careful and cautious in everything you do,” Lin Yun urged.
Little Cyan Dragon was fighting against the enemies who had once harmed it within the dragon clan—a dangerous endeavour, and Lin Yun was well aware of that.
“Having died once, this little lord will definitely be careful and won’t make the same mistake twice. I’m fine on my end—it’s you, stinky brat, who seems to have had your share of troubles these past few years.”
Little Cyan Dragon continued, “I only recently heard about how the Zhutian Alliance targeted you in the Xingwu Empire. Those bastards are bold enough to band together and try to kill you!”
By the end, anger flared in Little Cyan Dragon’s voice.
“I never imagined they’d form the Zhutian Alliance, even dragging in famous sects that had no grudge against me,” Lin Yun sighed heavily.
“Want this little lord to go with you to the Xingwu Empire and sort things out?” Little Cyan Dragon offered.
At that moment, the five-clawed golden dragon, now in human form, quickly interjected, “Young Master, these next few years are a critical time. It’s not wise for you to leave the Endless Sea now—it could give your enemies an opening.”
Hearing this, Lin Yun patted Little Cyan Dragon’s shoulder. “Little Cyan Dragon, don’t worry about this for now. Focus on your own matters. I’ve been out of the Xingwu Empire for so long already—a little longer won’t matter.”
Lin Yun knew the past few years couldn’t have been easy for Little Cyan Dragon in the dragon clan. Though he couldn’t help much, he could at least avoid adding to its burdens at such a pivotal moment.
Besides, as long as Lin Yun grew strong enough, returning to exact revenge wouldn’t be difficult.
“Fine then. Once these few years pass, if all goes well, the dragon clan will be your solid backing in the future!” Little Cyan Dragon flashed his signature grin again.
Then, he handed Lin Yun a jade slip. “If you run into serious trouble, crush this jade slip to notify me. No matter how busy I am, I’ll find a way to get to you.”
“Alright! Thank you…” Lin Yun’s expression was complex. Though they weren’t of the same race, having a brother like this in this lifetime left him with no regrets!
“You stinky brat, still acting formal with me? Thanking me for what!” Little Cyan Dragon punched Lin Yun’s chest lightly.
“Haha, my bad, my bad!” Lin Yun laughed.
“Young Master, since the matter here is settled, it’s about time. There’s still much to handle back at the dragon clan—we should head back soon,” the five-clawed golden dragon reminded.
Little Cyan Dragon nodded, then looked up at Lin Yun. “Stinky brat, since you’re in the Endless Sea, this little lord’s the host. I originally wanted to take you to the dragon clan as a guest, but with the struggles I’m facing there, it’s not the right time to bring you. Once things settle down, I’ll invite you to visit the dragon clan!”
“No worries, these are small matters. Since you’re busy, head back early. We’ll catch up once your affairs are sorted,” Lin Yun said with a smile.
“Alright, then this little lord will head off. Oh, and stinky brat—don’t forget to grab the storage rings and weapons from those wiped-out teams. You weren’t born with a background—resources don’t come easy for you,” Little Cyan Dragon reminded.
“Don’t worry, I won’t forget. You know me,” Lin Yun grinned.
Arguably, the one who understood Lin Yun’s cultivation journey best in this world was Little Cyan Dragon.
It also knew Lin Yun had come from the Three Thousand Small Worlds.
“Haha, true enough! Then this little lord’s off!”
With that, Little Cyan Dragon leapt into the air, transforming into a cyan dragon.
The five-clawed golden dragon followed suit, soaring up and turning into a massive golden dragon.
The two dragons sped away.
Life’s journey is long, and reunions are always fleeting.
“Little Cyan Dragon, I hope everything goes smoothly for you…” Lin Yun gazed skyward, offering a heartfelt blessing.
Though this reunion was brief, Lin Yun at least knew Little Cyan Dragon was alive and relatively safe.
He looked forward to their next meeting.
Soon, Little Cyan Dragon and the five-clawed golden dragon vanished completely from Lin Yun’s sight…
