Absolute God Chapter 2623

“It’s this guy being too confident. He must think Dongyuan Prefecture, his old territory, is safe since he cleared out the beasts here long ago. No more questions, do as I’ve ordered!” the Demon Commander barked sternly.

Clearly, he was obsessed with killing Lin Yun.

A rare chance to catch Lin Yun alone—how could he let it slip?

In the past, he might have been more cautious, but since the Demon Lord’s return, he’d adopted some of his bold style.

After the failed attempt to kidnap Lin Yun’s son, the Demon Lord had ordered him to keep targeting Lin Yun, no matter the cost or losses.

“I understand, I’ll relay the order to Lord Fei Huo,” the Heavenly Demon replied, swiftly leaving.

“Lin Yun, now that you’re alone, let’s see you survive this!” the Demon Commander sneered, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

He stood, preparing to report to the Demon Lord.

Demon Commander’s Mansion, a certain cave dwelling.

“What brings you here?” the Demon Lord opened his eyes.

“Demon Lord, that Lin Yun has left the main city alone recently. It’s a perfect opportunity. I knew he couldn’t hide forever. I’ve decided to launch another assassination,” the Demon Commander reported.

“You’ve tried killing him multiple times, haven’t you? This time, you’d better not mess up, or else, hmph,” the Demon Lord snorted, trailing off, but the warning was clear.

“Of course, of course!” the Demon Commander nodded with a forced smile.

He knew he’d failed too many times, losing face.

“Go. Report back with the results,” the Demon Lord waved him off.

“Yes,” the Demon Commander replied, exiting the cave.

Outside, he muttered, “No, for safety, I’ll send another seventh-tier Heavenly Demon!”

The Demon Lord’s warning had made him uneasy.

Another failure, and he’d have no face to see the Demon Lord again.

This time, he’d ensure absolute success!

Two seventh-tier Heavenly Demons—he was confident Lin Yun, no matter how strong, had no chance of survival.

As for eighth-tier? The demon race had only a handful, and they wouldn’t normally leave the Beast Mountain Range. It was like sending a general alone behind enemy lines before the war even started.

Also, the demon race had internal factions. Eighth-tier Heavenly Demons wouldn’t willingly go to human territory for an assassination.

Besides, the Demon Commander was confident one seventh-tier was enough to handle Lin Yun. Sending two was just to guarantee success.

Dongyuan Prefecture, a remote canyon.

A merchant caravan of thousands was blocked by seven or eight hundred bandits.

“Gentlemen, the spirit stones you’re demanding are too much. Our cargo is only worth so much. Please, have mercy, how about half?” the caravan’s guard pleaded.

“If you won’t pay, then die!”

The burly bandit leader swung his blade, instantly killing the guard.

“Haha, rob them! Take all the goods, kill the men, take the women back. That beauty’s mine!” the bandit leader’s gaze fixed on a graceful young woman.

With that, he brandished his blade and charged.

“Kill, kill, kill!” the other bandits shouted excitedly, rushing forward.

“Ahhh!”

The caravan members and women screamed in terror, the young woman trembling, barely able to stand.

Though the bandits were fewer, their strength far surpassed the caravan’s.

Boom!

Just as the bandits were about to strike, a figure descended from the sky, landing between the caravan and the bandits, blocking their path.

It was Lin Yun.

“Who are you, daring to block the Greedy Wolf Gang?” the bandit leader glared at Lin Yun.

“Robbing and killing—you’re beyond redemption!” Lin Yun’s eyes narrowed.

“Hmph, young but bold. If you meddle, die!” The bandit leader raised his blade, slashing fiercely at Lin Yun.

“Seeking death!”

Lin Yun’s gaze sharpened, and with a casual wave, a surge of inner energy erupted.

Boom!

Before everyone’s eyes, the bandit leader exploded into a mist of blood, not a trace left.

“This…”

The caravan and bandits were stunned.

The scene fell deathly silent.

A single wave, reducing the bandit leader to dust—what kind of being was this?

“Run, run, run!”

After a moment’s shock, the bandits turned and fled frantically.

“Think you can escape? No chance!”

Lin Yun waved again, his inner energy enveloping them. The hundreds of bandits vanished as if they’d never existed.

“This…”

“What a powerful being!”

The caravan members were awestruck, many never having seen such terrifying power.

“Thank you, sir! Thank you!” The caravan knelt, fervently saluting Lin Yun.

“Get up and continue your journey,” Lin Yun said calmly.

He’d been wandering aimlessly in Dongyuan Prefecture when he stumbled upon this scene in the canyon and decided to intervene.

Since he was here, he might as well handle it.

Atop a peak to the right of the canyon, two demon beasts crouched, watching below.

These were the two seventh-tier Heavenly Demons sent by the Demon Commander.

“His released energy shows he’s at the Second-Tier Myriad Things Realm!” one demon said.

“At his level, even with some cross-tier ability, I alone could crush him easily. Sending both of us is overkill,” Heavenly Demon Fei Huo scoffed.

“You’re right, Fei Huo. The Demon Commander overestimates him,” the other demon said, equally dismissive.

“But since we’re here, let’s not waste time. We’ll strike together, kill him instantly, and leave to report back,” Fei Huo said.

“Agreed!” the other seventh-tier Heavenly Demon nodded.

In the canyon.

The caravan members were still thanking Lin Yun.

Suddenly, Lin Yun’s brows furrowed, and he turned to the nearby peak.

“The fish have taken the bait?” Sensing them, Lin Yun’s lips curved slightly.
