At the family dinner that followed, Christine wade was a hundred times more attentive than before.

After dinner, Charlie wade received a call from Tawana.
She said over the phone, “Mr. Wade, tonight we need to go through a rehearsal. Do you and Miss Gu(Sun) have time to come over and prepare? The first concert is starting soon, and your dance accompaniment still hasn’t been settled.”
The thought of dancing backup for two women gave Charlie wade an inexplicable headache.
What kind of respectable person does this?
But he also knew that a gentleman’s word is his bond. Having agreed, there was no way he could back out.
Besides, if he was going to do it, he’d do it to the best of his ability. Stephanie trusted him so much, he couldn’t let her down.
So, he told Tawana, “I’ll check with Nannan about her schedule.”
“Alright, Mr. Wade, I’ll wait for your update.”
After hanging up, Charlie wade asked Stephanie, “Nannan, Tawana wants us to go over and prep for the rehearsal. Do you think it’s necessary to head there tonight?”
“Of course it is!” Stephanie said excitedly, “I’m fine with singing, and I’ve got no issue singing his songs. The main thing is the choreography for ‘Assassin.’ We need to nail it down soon.”
She glanced at the time and added, “Let’s go now! My parents can stay here and chat with Grandfather Wade a bit longer.”
Charlie wade agreed without hesitation and announced to the group, “I’m taking Nannan to the National Sports Centre to rehearse some concert pieces with Tawana. No rush for the rest of you, take your time chatting.”
Lord Orrin laughed, “Go on, you young folks handle your business. Us middle-aged and older lot will stay here, catch up, and reminisce.”
Lord wade chimed in, “Yes, Charlie, go with Nannan to take care of your important stuff. Don’t worry about us.”
Charlie wade bid farewell to everyone with Stephanie, then drove an unassuming minivan to the National Sports Centre.
On the way, Stephanie connected her phone to the car’s stereo via Bluetooth, looping her song “Assassin” on repeat.
Charlie wade listened the whole ride and pretty much memorised the tune and lyrics by the time they arrived.
At the National Sports Centre, the stage, lighting, and sound systems were all set up.
Tawana’s backing band was already tuning, and the lighting and sound engineers were making final adjustments.
When Charlie wade and Stephanie arrived, Tawana came down from the stage to greet them personally. She eagerly said to Stephanie, “I’ve had the sound engineer download the music file for ‘Assassin’ and the original MV. We’ll run through it soon. I mainly want to figure out how to choreograph Mr. Wade’s part.”
Stephanie smiled and said, “Originally, this song had a female lead and a male lead, so when we performed it before, I didn’t join in the dancing. The choreography was done by a male and female dancer in ancient costumes together.”
She glanced at Charlie wade, then grinned and continued, “But this time, since I finally convinced Brother Charlie wade to dance for this song, there’s no way I’m letting anyone else take the female dancer’s spot.”
Realising something, she quickly corrected herself, “Wait, no, it should be both of us as the female leads. Since we’re each singing a part, when I sing, Brother Charlie wade dances with me, and when you sing, he dances with you. How’s that for a fair split?”
Tawana laughed delightedly, “Fair and square, absolutely reasonable!”
