Charlie wade had already embraced the belief of accepting things as they came, so whatever Stephanie asked him to do, he would comply accordingly, and nothing else mattered.
As he stepped onto the stage, the on-site staff were fully prepared. The moment the tall Charlie wade emerged in his assassin attire, he immediately drew the attention of many staff members.
It wasn’t clear whether it was an illusion or if Charlie wade truly exuded the aura of an ancient heroic knight, but when everyone saw him in this outfit, it felt as though the grandeur of a legendary hero from ancient times had suddenly materialised.
This impression wasn’t solely due to Charlie wade’s costume being spot-on; it stemmed from the distinctive air he carried as he walked, every gesture and movement setting him apart.
In other words, Charlie wade himself was an extraordinarily powerful cultivator, vastly different from those action actors with their superficial moves. This was a sensation that people could only grasp when they saw him in person.
To prevent leaks, before the rehearsal of this song, the staff had specially prepared wireless earpieces for the three performers. Then, a stage coordinator stepped forward and said, “When Miss Stephanie finishes her second-to-last song, we’ll play a few minutes of behind-the-scenes footage. At that point, Miss Stephanie will need to hurry offstage to change, Miss Sweet will need to change into her outfit beforehand and wait by the lift, and this gentleman, the backup dancer, will do the same.”
Charlie wade nodded and asked Stephanie, “Is a few minutes enough time to change?”
“Yes.”
Stephanie smiled and said, “The outfit for my second-to-last song will be fairly simple. After I leave the stage, I’ll just slip into the costume for the final song, tweak a few details, and I’ll be ready to go back on.”
At that moment, the prelude of traditional Chinese-style music began playing through the earpieces. The on-site stage director said to Charlie wade, “Sir, you can take the stage with Miss Stephanie now. We’ll guide you through the specific movements via the earpiece.”
“Alright.” Without hesitation, Charlie wade stood behind Stephanie, who held a longsword, and together they stepped onto the lift.
As the lift rose to the stage, Stephanie took his hand and led him to the centre of the stage.
The gist of the lyrics described the joyful life they shared in the beginning, tending horses in the southern mountains.
Then, Charlie wade heard a voice in his earpiece say, “Please step forward one pace, backup dancer, to Point A and improvise.”
Raising his eyes, Charlie wade saw a beam of light projected onto the stage floor, marking the letters A, B, C, and D.
Since he was instructed to go to Point A, he followed the direction.
With that, he stepped forward a few paces to Point A and began performing the sword techniques he had adapted himself.
During the last run-through, Charlie wade had merely used a hiking stick and a few basic costume changes, yet he had already delivered a breathtaking swordplay performance that left everyone in awe.
Today, fully dressed in ancient attire with a highly realistic longsword in hand, his flowing sword techniques paired with his long hair made him look as though he had stepped straight out of a martial arts novel, utterly mesmerising.
Coincidentally, the lyrics Stephanie was singing at that moment described her, as the assassin’s woman, accompanying him daily in the mountains to practise swordplay, her heart filled with satisfaction and admiration. As Charlie wade improvised in front, she sang softly behind him with a look of infatuation, perfectly matching the mood depicted in the song.
