Xu Fei froze for a moment at those words, then spoke up.
“Hold your horses, I’m not interested in you personally. What I’m curious about is why you’d come to China. I’ve dealt with your kind plenty before!”
Back in his military days, Xu Fei had campaigned far and wide, leaving hardly a corner of the world untouched.
During those years, he’d crossed paths with voodoo masters like this one.
From what Xu Fei understood, while others called them voodoo masters, local folks often revered them, seeing them as divine spokespeople.
Xu Fei figured that with such blind devotion from the masses, that kind of environment should’ve been the perfect breeding ground for these types. Logically, they’d have no reason to leave.
Hearing this, the voodoo master suddenly gave a faint smile and looked at Xu Fei.
“You’ve tangled with me before? Hmph! I don’t know who you are, but I’d bet you’re tied to the Chinese military!”
“Since I’m as good as dead today, let me tell you something, China’s about to face a catastrophe!”
His vague response made Xu Fei frown, ready to press further.
But the voodoo master had no intention of giving him the chance, lunging to attack instead.
“Lord Evil King, lend me your strength! Even if I perish, I’ll take this kid down with me!”
The voodoo master roared, his hands rapidly shifting through seals.
Xu Fei watched as the floating ghost face in the air fused onto the voodoo master’s body.
The ghost face enveloped him completely, forming what looked like a thick suit of armour.
Then the voodoo master reached for the samurai sword enshrined on the wall, drawing it with a sharp *shing*.
Xu Fei saw clearly, the blade was blood-red!
“Have at you!”
The voodoo master, seemingly fully prepared, charged at Xu Fei with the sword raised.
He moved lightning-fast, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.
Unsure of the man’s tricks, Xu Fei wasn’t keen on going toe-to-toe just yet.
In the cramped confines of the wooden cabin, the voodoo master’s weapon gave him the edge in a prolonged fight.
So Xu Fei zeroed in on the single pillar propping up the entire cabin.
*Boom!*
Xu Fei swiftly channelled his true qi, blasting the pillar to splinters, and the cabin began to wobble and collapse.
The falling structure threw the charging voodoo master off, robbing him of his advantage.
Xu Fei, having made his move, leapt out through the window again, landing on open ground.
With a crash, the cabin crumpled to the ground, followed by a fleeting moment of silence.
Then, with a whoosh, the voodoo master rose from the wreckage, shouting wildly as he rushed at Xu Fei again.
“No dodging this time, time to fight!”
Xu Fei muttered to himself. He wrapped his arms in true qi, and as the blood-red blade thrust toward him, he extended his fingers.
“Mountain-Severing Finger!”
