Roar
A furious roar echoed from the distance.
This roar was unlike the other demons’ bellows—it was exceptionally piercing and carried immense intimidation. When it resounded, it stirred a hurricane across the heavens and earth.
Yet even Chu Feng couldn’t pinpoint the direction of the sound, as if it had originated from the very fabric of the world.
But the most terrifying aspect wasn’t the roar’s power—it was its effect.
When the roar rang out, the demons suddenly ignored Chu Feng and began frantically charging towards the little girl’s position once more.

Chu Feng didn’t waste words. He swung the Evil God Sword, unleashing blood-red wind-blades that slashed towards the demons.
In the beginning, when Chu Feng first used the Evil God Sword, its blood-red wind-blades could effortlessly cleave through the demons. A single swing, with sword energy sweeping like wind-blades, could kill thousands of demons.
But now, things had changed. As the demons evolved, the wind-blade-like sword energy would only leave a gash on a demon’s body before dissipating.
Forget killing hordes of demons—Chu Feng couldn’t even kill a single one outright.
Most critically, the Evil God Sword’s power hadn’t weakened, which showed just how much the demons’ strength had grown.
No wonder the demons mocked Chu Feng—they knew he could no longer stop them.

As the protective formation teetered on the brink of collapse, Chu Feng was overwhelmed with helplessness.
But he didn’t give up. Gritting his teeth, his eyes blazing, he relentlessly swung the Evil God Sword, unleashing blood-red sword energy to strike the demons converging from all directions.
He was making his final stand!!!
“Chu Feng, you can’t stop them. They’ve reached their complete form now. Leave while you still can,” the little girl urged.
“Complete form?” Hearing this, Chu Feng’s expression shifted. Then, he spun around, darted towards the little girl, scooped her into his arms, and soared into the void, speeding away.
“What are you doing?”
The little girl was stunned.
“Since they’ve evolved into their complete form, there’s no need to guard the formation.”
“Their target is you. As long as I protect you, that’s enough,” Chu Feng said.
“Are you mad? You’re no match for them! Get out of here now, or you’ll die if you keep this up,” the little girl said.
“I said I’d protect you, and I will. Unless I’m dead, I won’t let these demons harm you.”
Chu Feng said this with a smile. Though the Evil God Sword’s influence had turned his eyes blood-red and his face ferocious, making him resemble a demon, his smile was still warm.
Seeing Chu Feng like this, whether out of shock or something else, the little girl froze for a moment…

At that moment, after completely destroying the formation, the demons began charging at Chu Feng. They leapt into the air, attacking in droves.
Chu Feng couldn’t hold them back. Soon, a nearby demon struck him, sending him crashing heavily to the ground.
Then, the demons’ massive fists began pummelling Chu Feng’s body.
Protected by the Evil God Sword’s flames, Chu Feng didn’t die, but he endured immense pain.
Unable to move or fight back, he could only lie on the ground, clutching the Evil God Sword with one hand and tightly holding the little girl with the other.
From the resolve in his eyes, it was clear Chu Feng had made his choice.
His choice was to endure all of this with his life—to protect the little girl with his life.
As for the little girl, she was shielded in Chu Feng’s arms.
She could see nothing but the dirt beneath them, but she could hear the demons’ massive fists slamming into Chu Feng’s body, booming with each strike.
She could hear the sound of flesh tearing, of blood splattering, and even of bones breaking.
And all of it was coming from Chu Feng…
