Mo Fan’s words left the demons exchanging glances. Finally, Old Chai was the first to kneel and kowtow to Mo Fan, saying, “This humble demon Old Chai is willing to stay on Black Wind Mountain and follow the orders of Great King Laibao!”
With the first one taking the lead, the other lesser demons no longer hesitated. They immediately knelt in a large group, their voices chaotic and disorderly.
“We are willing to stay on Black Wind Mountain and follow the orders of Great King Laibao!”
Looking at this undisciplined group of demons, resembling refugees, Mo Fan was both exasperated and amused.
He could tell that these lesser demons did not truly acknowledge him. Their enthusiasm was mostly due to the “treasures” they had scavenged.
Of course, to some extent, he was considered a great demon to these lesser demons. Though far less imposing than the former Black Wind Mountain Demon King, he could at least be seen as a tree providing shade.
Mo Fan did not find anything wrong with this.
He never expected these lesser demons to instantly submit to his so-called kingly aura. Taking them in was more about putting on a show to prepare for recruiting more demons later.
Since he had decided to establish himself as a king, he might as well go big and strong!
“Very good. All of you, rise!”
“Follow this king up the mountain. I will reestablish the rules of our Black Wind Mountain!”
Mo Fan laughed heartily, waving his hand. A gust of demonic wind surged, forcefully lifting the demons from the ground. With a loud laugh, he led the way up the mountain.
Having witnessed Mo Fan’s methods, the lesser demons were filled with awe and dared not dawdle, hurriedly following him.
This journey took half a day. Mo Fan looked up and saw that the mountaintop was still far away. Losing patience, he left Red Eye and Chacha, among other demon underlings, to guide the way, while he and Crane Feifei flew ahead to the mountain’s peak.
Arriving at the summit square, Mo Fan saw what could truly be called a field strewn with corpses.
The entire Black Wind Mountain summit square was dyed red with blood. Corpses were scattered everywhere, both of demons and human cultivators.
The only thing that was an eyesore was that most of the human cultivators’ corpses had been stripped bare, not even leaving a pair of undergarments.
“It seems this group of weak and sickly ones we just took in isn’t entirely useless!”
Mo Fan took a deep breath and smiled.
“What do you mean?” Crane Feifei asked, puzzled. She couldn’t see anything impressive about those lesser demons.
“Look! At least they’re top-notch at cleaning up the battlefield!”
Mo Fan pointed to the naked corpses in the square, earning a roll of the eyes from Crane Feifei.
“Laibao, are you really planning to establish yourself as king on this Black Wind Mountain?”
Crane Feifei suddenly looked at Mo Fan, a trace of worry in her eyes.
“Why not?” Mo Fan asked with a smile.
“Do you know what it means to be the king of a mountain?”
“If you truly dare to proclaim yourself the Demon King of this mountain, you’ll inevitably face challenges from other demons in the future. Even demons from the other two mountains might come to provoke you.
We’re only at the Demon General realm, far from the true Demon King realm. If we really provoke hostility from the nearby great demons, I fear Black Wind Mountain will face another bloodbath.”
Crane Feifei sighed, her eyes filled with concern.
“We’ll deal with future matters later. As long as I have time, what’s a Demon King?!”
Mo Fan smiled, unbothered by Crane Feifei’s worries.
Under the deliberate care of the White Tiger Holy King, he had witnessed the world’s most powerful forces, and his horizons had long been broadened. Naturally, he did not think much of a Demon King.
“You said it yourself. Even if you, Laibao, are powerful, you need time to grow. But who will give you that time?”
Crane Feifei looked helpless, feeling that Mo Fan was somewhat overly confident.
Although she had to admit Mo Fan was very strong, that was a Demon King!
A true Demon King realm!
“No, there will be time. At least for now, the situation is in our favour!”
Mo Fan spoke calmly. He was now at the mid-Demon General realm. If he used his Golden Body Divine Ability, he could fight against late-stage or even peak Demon Generals!
If he advanced further, a so-called Demon King might not be unbeatable!
The key to advancing further lay in the spring pool!
It had been some time since the cultivation of the Seven-Coloured Dragon Loach began, and Mo Fan was eager to see how far it had progressed.
As for the safety of White Yaoyao and Big Head, he was not too worried.
The spring pool was so deep it might even connect to the entire Black Water River. Both demons were adept in water, making it hard for human cultivators to kill them.
Seeing Mo Fan so confident, Crane Feifei could only give a wry smile and stopped talking.
The two demons waited for half a day until Red Eye and Chacha led a large group of demons to the summit, gathering in the square.
Mo Fan’s gaze swept over them, noting that there were only about thirty demons in total, the entire strength of Black Wind Mountain now.
“Silence!”
Mo Fan spoke, instantly quieting the noisy demons, all of whom turned to look at him.
“My name is Laibao. I declare that from today, I am the new Great King of Black Wind Mountain!”
“I believe none of you have any objections. If anyone does, speak up. I guarantee you won’t die too painfully!”
“…”
Mo Fan’s words left the demons speechless.
With you saying that, who would dare object?
“Very good! Everyone’s so quiet. It seems you all agree with my proposal. From now on, I am your king, and you must obey my orders unconditionally!
Anyone who dares defy me will be turned into a feast for everyone to enjoy!”
“Have you all heard clearly?!”
Mo Fan’s final shout was like a resounding bell, making all the demons tremble. They responded in a slightly more unified voice, “We heard clearly!!”
“Very good. I can see you’re all spirited and full of energy!”
Looking at the trembling group of lesser demons below, Mo Fan grinned, his demonic aura surging. He extracted a drop of spiritual liquid from the lake within his body, then waved his hand. The spiritual liquid dispersed, wrapped in vast demonic aura, drifting towards the demons.
Soon, the lesser demons were enveloped in spiritual mist and demonic aura.
“Since you’re willing to follow this king, I won’t let you down. Here’s your first opportunity!”
Mo Fan’s words echoed in the demons’ ears. Then, from within the hazy spiritual mist, a lesser demon let out a low cry, beginning a new round of demon transformation!
This process lasted the time it takes to drink a cup of tea. The spiritual mist and demonic aura were completely absorbed.
The lesser demons gained great fortune from this. Over a dozen demons on the verge of a breakthrough directly advanced one level in their demon transformation.
The rest, though not breaking through, had their spiritual energy far more abundant than before, and most importantly, a faint trace of demonic aura now lingered in their bodies.
