Immortal Stall Chapter 8 - LiddRead

Immortal Stall Chapter 8

The gathered crowd was dumbfounded.

Their eyes were red with envy.

Maybe tomorrow we should set up a stall too.

Zhong Yingxue stood quietly by Jiangnan’s side.

Xia Yao, meanwhile, kept Jiangnan in a relentless chokehold from behind.

Terrified he’d slip away.

But deep down, she was genuinely happy for Zhong Yingxue.

She alone knew how much Jiangnan meant to her.

The pose, though, was quite eye-catching, yet Xia Yao didn’t care.

With a coy blink, she said in a sugary voice, “Brothers and sisters, come check out the goods. Super cheap.”

Jiangnan shivered at the sound.

A tall, wild goddess speaking so sweetly.

Even chanting a mantra couldn’t shield him from this.

“Why are you shaking?”

“Nothing, just cold.”

[Resentment points from Xia Yao +333!]

In the middle of summer, you messing with me?

Zhong Yingxue, a bit shy, joined in to help sell Jiangnan’s goods.

And so, the scene unfolded.

Two stunning girls hawking wares for Jiangnan.

He sat like a Buddha on his stool, frozen.

Just ask, are you touched?

Don’t dare move. Don’t dare move.

The onlookers exploded, rushing to buy.

Not for the goods, but for a closer look at the two beauties.

Worth it.

A big guy charged forward, “Nobody move! Boxers, ten yuan for two, right? Give me ten kilos.”

“What? You sell pants by the kilo?”

“Ten kilos? You won’t wear that out even when you’re dead. Saving the rest for your heirs?”

“Leave some for us.”

Jiangnan shouted, “Don’t stop my big brother. Ten kilos of boxers, I’ll weigh them now. Ancestral boxers, no problem. My mineral water’s ancestral too.”

[Resentment points from Liu Quan +666!]

[Resentment points from Zhong Yingxue +111!]

Only Xia Yao snickered.

All fading.

Wear them, go on.

Suddenly, she found scamming kind of fun.

In under ten minutes, the stall was cleared out. The nine remaining bottles of Farmer’s Three Punches, though, had no takers.

Jiangnan sighed inwardly.

He’d shouted himself hoarse with no results.

Look at these two girls.

Born to run a stall.

Good looks really do pay.

Packing up, he tossed the odds and ends, even his bike, into his interdimensional space.

“Alright, let’s eat. My treat tonight.”

Jiangnan was in high spirits.

Xia Yao froze, stunned, “You’re a spatial ability user?”

Even Zhong Yingxue was shocked. Spatial ability?

There are fewer than ten worldwide.

Jiangnan shrugged, “What else?”

“You, a spatial ability user, running a stall?” Xia Yao’s voice jumped three octaves.

The shady stall owner she chased for half a year was a spatial ability martial artist?

“So what? You think I’d be better off delivering packages?”

Xia Yao: “…”

[Resentment points from Xia Yao +666!]

“Come on, I’m not teasing. My talent’s the weakest E-grade, slow to cultivate.”

“Spatial ability or not, gotta live. Can’t exactly rob a bank.”

Xia Yao wasn’t listening, already scheming.

Zhong Yingxue gently shook Jiangnan’s arm, “No worries. You protected me in the orphanage. Now I’ll protect you.”

Jiangnan: !!!

Wow.

Little Yingxue, so gentle.

My heart’s melting.

The trio reached the night market entrance. Jiangnan’s jaw dropped at the Mercedes G-Class.

Xia Yao’s that rich? Driving a G-Class so young?

Jiangnan took the passenger seat, Zhong Yingxue in the back, his eyes glued to Xia Yao driving.

Xia Yao, flustered, said, “What’re you staring at? I’m 18, got a license.”

Jiangnan rubbed his eyes, “Must be nearsighted. Money’s blinding me.”

[Resentment points from Xia Yao +666!]

“Naughty. If not for Yingxue, I’d never let you off.”

“What’re we eating?”

“Skewers. Street food, let’s go.”

“Yingxue?”

“I’m with Jiangnan.”

The V8 engine roared, leaving envious onlookers. With that background, you’re running a stall?

Stealing business.

Unbeknownst to Jiangnan, his brick-splitting video was uploaded to Weibo by eager netizens.

Its popularity soared, surpassing his previous one.

At Xiamen Street food stalls.

“Grilled kidneys, soy-glazed tendons, lean jerky, three fresh beers.”

“No spice, Yingxue doesn’t like spicy.”

Zhong Yingxue smiled, “You still remember.”

Jiangnan grinned, “Got a good memory.”

Xia Yao watched their sweet exchange, pouting.

[Resentment points from Xia Yao +3+3+3…]

See?

This Xia Yao’s got issues.

Gotta watch her.

Jiangnan asked, “Yingxue, where are you studying now?”

“Songjiang Martial High. Xia Yao’s in my class. We’re seniors.”

Jiangnan paused, “Songjiang Martial? Pretty competitive, huh?”

Songjiang Martial was Jiangcheng’s only high school for martial artists, with top facilities and faculty.

A powerhouse, always top three in provincial high school leagues.

Xia Yao smirked, “Competition? Not for us.”

“Yingxue’s Bronze Nine-Star fire ability, insane output, plus my Bronze Seven-Star beast transformation. We’re strong.”

“If not for that jerk Luo, I…”

“Xiaoyao, stop,” Zhong Yingxue frowned.

Xia Yao shut up, reluctant, but added, “Can’t we get Jiangnan on the team?”

“He’s a bit shady, but trustworthy.”

“Plus, spatial ability. Ultimate crowd control.”

Zhong Yingxue shook her head, “My problems, I’ll handle.”

Xia Yao snapped, “Handle how? He’s pushed you this far. If I wasn’t there, what then?”

“Xiaoyao.”

Xia Yao, fuming, gave up and ate her skewers in silence.

Jiangnan didn’t press, instead saying, “Yingxue’s always been stubborn. Come on, eat.”

“Xia Yao, sis, add me as a friend?”

He flashed his QR code, giving her a look.

Xia Yao, confused, added him.

Jiangnan sent a sneaky message.

“Tell me later when we’re free.”

Xia Yao’s anger vanished.

Her long leg nudged Jiangnan’s knee under the table.

A look that said, you’re alright.

“Come on, Yingxue, add me too. Easier to stay in touch.”

“Hey, how’s the Zhong family treating you?”

Zhong Yingxue smiled, “My parents are decent. Grandpa Zhong’s strict, but it’s for my good.”

“You? How’ve you been these years?”

Jiangnan scratched his head, “Me? Just getting by.”

“Left the orphanage at 16, rented a place, worked at the university gate grilling skewers, selling cold noodles, waiting tables. Running a stall makes the most money.”

“Studying at Jiangcheng First High’s going alright.”

Both girls’ eyes locked on him.

Just 16, studying and working odd jobs to survive. How tough was that?

Yet he brushed it off, his smile still bright.

Xia Yao suddenly felt Jiangnan wasn’t so bad.

Selling her fading boxers was just to get by.

Poor guy.

Fine, I’ll secretly forgive you.
