Code Mage Chapter 27

Summoners can call forth spirits and magical creatures to fight for them. The prerequisite for becoming a summoner is a strong mind. So, when Meili attacked Debbie, she was cautious. In her understanding, even if Debbie was an eccentric summoner, dazing her shouldn’t be easy. But… it was that simple?

Looking at Debbie, lying on the ground as if sleeping sweetly, Meili, standing nearby, felt a bit unable to accept it. Hey, come on, don’t mess around. I was ready for a proper fight, alright?

At that moment, a loud “bang” rang out. Ye Chui’s body was suddenly flung back, crashing heavily to the side. He was knocked down by a fierce wind from Ryan.

Ye Chui’s consecutive attacks, though unable to harm Ryan, had made Ryan increasingly irritable. For a mage of his status to be forced to dodge Ye Chui’s spells was quite embarrassing. So, he decided to get serious, using powerful wind-element magic to blow Ye Chui to the ground.

Ye Chui let out a pained cry. As he got up, he happened to see Debbie lying nearby, sleeping sweetly. At that moment, it felt like ten thousand mythical beasts were roaring through his mind. He almost wanted to shout, “What a scam!” to express his fury. Damn it, the main reason he dared to act so bold in front of Ryan was because Debbie said her battle spirit could handle these people in minutes!

If he’d known she was this useless, he would’ve just surrendered. Girl, get up, don’t screw me over like this!

Ye Chui’s expression turned grim with frustration. He glanced at Meili, standing nearby.

Meili, originally a bold and icy female mage, felt a bit flustered under Ye Chui’s gaze. She instinctively explained, “I only attacked her lightly, and she fainted…”

“…” That explanation just makes her sound even more useless.

Though Ye Chui was furious, he knew anger wouldn’t help. He quickly calmed himself, glanced at Debbie, who was sleeping soundly, perhaps dreaming of tasty snacks with her mouth still smacking. His fingers swiftly tapped on his magic book, then he stood and faced Ryan.

Ryan was radiating a powerful aura, with raging wind elements swirling around him. His white hair and black robe billowed, making rustling sounds. One hand rested on his magic book, its pages flipping rapidly. His face bore a cold sneer, as if selecting a suitable spell to attack Ye Chui, one powerful and cruel enough to satisfy his vicious desires.

Soon, he found the perfect spell.

Ye Chui was also ready.

Ready for what?

Ye Chui didn’t expect to defeat Ryan outright. Though he had the powerful cheat of his iPad magic book, it couldn’t instantly grant him strength to match a powerful mage like Ryan. So, before the battle began, Ye Chui’s goal wasn’t to win but to at least hit Ryan.

Even if he lost, he didn’t want to lose too pathetically, right?

He glanced at Debbie again. Those affected by [Daze] fall into a deep sleep, one that can’t be broken by shouting. Until the spell’s effect wears off, only personal effort can dispel it.

Ye Chui sighed. Though the girl seemed utterly unreliable, he had no choice but to trust her…

What he was about to do was thrilling but also incredibly reckless. His eyes locked onto Ryan, a sly smile curling his lips.

The next moment, Ye Chui’s body suddenly vanished.

It wasn’t true disappearance; his speed had simply become too fast.

Wind-element auxiliary spell [Wind Walk].

Before today’s duel, Ye Chui had only 2 points. His fight with Riken earned him 15 points, and the first half of his battle with Ryan added 5 more, giving him 22 points total. Downloading and installing [Wind Walk] required 20 points.

Ye Chui had long planned how to deal with a powerful wind-element mage like Ryan. Among the nine attributes, none fully countered wind. So, he had chosen to download [Wind Walk], which greatly boosted speed, to launch a close-range attack when Ryan was unprepared.

[Wind Walk] made one’s speed incredibly fast, like adding an acceleration buff. Ryan had used this spell to dodge Ye Chui’s attacks. Now, Ye Chui suddenly used it, gaining wind-like speed.

“This is impossible! It’s simply impossible!” Ryan thought. Then Ye Chui appeared before him. Bang. A fist slammed into his stomach.

Speed enhances a punch’s power.

A mage’s body isn’t much tougher than an ordinary person’s.

With [Wind Walk]’s boost, Ye Chui struck without hesitation. Caught off guard, Ryan grunted, his body nearly lifted off the ground by the blow. He screamed, stumbling back and collapsing to his knees, his face contorted in pain as if his organs had shifted. Furious and shocked, he looked up.

Ye Chui’s fingers swiped across his iPad magic book screen, intending to select a powerful spell. But seeing only 1% magic power left, he sighed. His fight with Riken had consumed nearly 40% of his magic, and the battle with Ryan had taken more. His magic was nearly depleted, and his magic book would soon vanish.

Feeling the exhaustion in his body, Ye Chui looked at Ryan, kneeling before him, clutching his stomach in pain. After a brief hesitation, he grabbed the edges of his iPad magic book, swung it, and smacked it onto Ryan’s forehead with a loud slap.

He was always a man of action.

His magic book was sturdy, as he’d confirmed days ago. It wouldn’t break easily and could be used as a brick. After all, it was the thing that brought him to this world. So, with only 1% magic left before it vanished, Ye Chui used his magic book like a brick, smacking it onto Ryan’s forehead. Then he lifted his foot and kicked Ryan, unleashing a brutal flurry of punches and kicks.

Everyone around was stunned.

Have you ever seen such a violent mage before?
