Mo Fan’s appearance quickly drew the attention of the demons below.
“It’s the King!”
“The King is here!”
The demons shouted in unison, bowing together, “Greetings, Your Majesty!”
As the black wind howled, Mo Fan descended onto Flat Peak. Looking at Red Eye’s betting stall, he grinned, “I’m betting on Little Yellow, ten thousand low-grade spirit stones!”
“This…” Red Eye opened his mouth, glancing around to see the demons smirking mischievously. With a pained expression, he said, “Your Majesty, please spare me! If I lose, I’d owe you thirty thousand low-grade spirit stones. I don’t have that! Even selling myself wouldn’t cover it!”
“If you know that, then hurry up and shut down this shoddy stall!” Mo Fan rolled his eyes, his tone stern. He added, “Quickly return everyone’s bets!”
“Yes, sir!” Red Eye sighed, his face like a bitter melon, reluctantly returning the bets he’d just collected.
“You’re finally out of seclusion. Any gains these past two weeks?” Bai Yaoyao approached, her eyes curious as she looked at Mo Fan.
“I made some progress. I’ve got a new trump card for dealing with a Demon King,” Mo Fan replied with a smile, not hiding anything.
His words made the surrounding demons widen their eyes, then beam with joy.
These lesser demons didn’t question the truth of Mo Fan’s words. They only knew their king seemed even stronger, capable of facing a Demon King.
For demons, the stronger their king, the safer they felt.
Bai Yaoyao was inwardly surprised. Having once been a Demon King, she knew their power. Yet Mo Fan claimed a new trump card against one, implying he had others?
She didn’t pry, instead frowning slightly at Mo Fan’s chest, “What’s that?”
“I was just about to ask you,” Mo Fan said with a smile, unsurprised that Bai Yaoyao sensed the Ying Ying Monster.
“Ying Ying Monster!” Mo Fan called, and the creature crawled out from his collar, chirping in a childish voice, “Daddy!”
Daddy?
Bai Yaoyao’s eyes widened, and the surrounding demons looked shocked.
Since when did their king have a child?
Only Red Eye smirked slyly, his gaze darting between Bai Yaoyao and He Feifei, as if he’d uncovered some scandal.
He Feifei, stunned, glanced at Bai Yaoyao with a hint of disappointment.
Noticing He Feifei’s look, Bai Yaoyao gave a wry smile, too lazy to explain. Instead, she asked Mo Fan, “Is this your child with that rabbit demon?”
Her words stunned He Feifei, while Red Eye, smirking smugly, froze in shock!
He never expected the gossip to turn on him. Feeling countless eyes on him, he cursed, “Stop staring at me! I’m a male demon! Even if I got with the King, we couldn’t make a demon kid! Bah! I swear, I’m innocent!”
Mo Fan’s face twitched, itching to slap Red Eye into the next realm.
What nonsense!
Wasn’t this slandering his reputation?
You explain yourself, but do you have to make it worse?
Even Bai Yaoyao couldn’t help but laugh, covering her forehead, “Red Eye, not you. I meant Bai Xue.”
“Oh, not me?” Red Eye exhaled in relief, then froze, “Wait, who? Bai Xue?!”
His relief vanished as he looked at Mo Fan, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions, vivid and complex.
“What are you looking at me for?” Mo Fan, already annoyed, felt uneasy under Red Eye’s gaze.
“Please, can you stop guessing blindly before knowing the truth? It’s easy to cause misunderstandings!” Mo Fan said to Bai Yaoyao, exasperated.
“Not Bai Xue’s?” Seeing Mo Fan’s expression, Bai Yaoyao understood but still frowned, “Then whose?”
She looked at the Ying Ying Monster, now perched on Mo Fan’s shoulder, staring at her curiously.
“Ying ying ying… Mama?!” The sudden term made Bai Yaoyao’s eyes widen.
The gossiping demons finally looked enlightened, and Red Eye let out a heavy sigh of relief.
“Don’t call me that!” Bai Yaoyao panicked, while Mo Fan scratched his head, turning to the creature, “Ying Ying Monster, why do you call everyone randomly?”
“Daddy, I’m not random. She’s Mama. I remember her aura. Before I was born, I was always in her arms!” the Ying Ying Monster said in its childish voice, flying toward Bai Yaoyao.
“Mama, don’t you recognise me? You used to cultivate with me!” Its words made Bai Yaoyao suspicious. She looked at Mo Fan for answers, but he shrugged, “It hatched from that egg.”
Bai Yaoyao’s eyes lit up in realisation. After a moment’s hesitation, she extended her palm.
The Ying Ying Monster landed on it, nuzzling her hand.
Bai Yaoyao narrowed her eyes, sensing its aura, which matched the glass egg formed by the Seven-Coloured Dragon Loach!
“You’re called Ying Ying Monster?” she asked curiously.
“Yes, Daddy named me,” it nodded, kicking its hind legs in the air, floating to Bai Yaoyao’s shoulder.
“I came to ask you about this creature. Do you know what it is?” Mo Fan asked via transmission.
“I’ve never seen such a creature, nor found it in ancient texts. But I suspect it’s the Seven-Coloured Dragon Loach activating a faint bloodline power, resulting in this ancestral regression,” Bai Yaoyao replied through transmission, sharing her guess.
“You mean it awakened its dragon bloodline?” Mo Fan asked.
“You could say that,” she replied.
“So, could it evolve into a true dragon?” he pressed.
“That’s hard to say. The dragon bloodline in a dragon loach is very faint. How far Ying Ying Monster evolves depends on its own fortune,” Bai Yaoyao said after a moment’s thought.
“But either way, you’ve hit the jackpot! This creature was born with such cultivation. Its potential is bound to be astonishing. Even if it doesn’t become a true dragon, it’ll likely be a great demon!” she said enviously.
“You’re wrong. It’s not just me who hit the jackpot, it’s both of us!” Mo Fan’s sudden words made Bai Yaoyao blush.
As the two conversed, the wager fight in the circle reached a fever pitch.
“Technique, Wind Dash!”
“Half-demon, you can surrender now!”
“Hmph! The winner’s not decided yet. Fire Dragon Blaze!”
