That chant was exceedingly melodic, the tune remarkably beautiful. The words were indistinct, yet one could sense a certain holy aura emanating through, bringing profound comfort. Although Debbie’s life as an adventurer had been rather unprofessional, her knowledge far surpassed that of others. She immediately exclaimed, “This is the chant of a believer!”
Her own summoning chants were mere imitations of a believer’s chant, so she was naturally most familiar with it.
Accompanying the chant, the blood-robed figures enveloped by the blood mist seemed to panic suddenly. Old Bond’s face changed drastically. He shouted hastily from his mouth, “Stop her, go stop her quickly!”
At his call, two blood-robed figures nearer by hissed and rushed towards the white light charging rapidly. The white light was a white horse, but now a layer of white glow enveloped the horse’s body. The girl in the black nun’s habit sat upon the horse, holding a brown-red covered Bible in her hand. The white glow emanating from her body seemed to repel the blood mist greatly, carving a path through it.
When the blood-robed figures closed in on her, her chant reached its final syllables as well. Snap, she closed the Bible with one hand and extended her other palm towards the two blood-robed figures. She shouted loudly,
“Granny’s gonna exorcise you!”
“Aaaah!” Dazzling white light erupted abruptly. Following it came the screams of the two blood-robed figures. Their forms dissolved swiftly into ashes amid the spreading light, scattering in the wind!
“Hiss!” The white horse reared up. The nun dismounted from the horse’s back. White glow still permeated her body. Her skirt hem fluttered as she walked slowly towards Ye Dui’s group. One blood-robed figure lunged from the side. Its arms, like beast claws, extended to strike her down. Yet she waved her hand casually. White light surged. Amid screams, the blood-robed figure swiftly followed its companions into becoming ashes.
Holy power and profane forces clashed utterly!
Soon, the nun reached Ye Dui’s group. This allowed Ye Dui to see her full appearance. Er, though clad in a nun’s habit, what was with the low-cut, high-slit design? What should have been the most dignified attire used the thinnest fabric possible, clinging tightly to her curvaceous figure. Paired with the nun’s face, beautiful yet laced with allure, holy yet untamed with wildness, her emergence amid the blood mist with white radiance truly felt immensely seductive. However… it also carried an intense nun AV vibe that made it nearly impossible to look straight at…
Of course, what shocked Ye Dui most was recognising the nun as the long-legged woman he had glimpsed on the street days prior. He had felt her somewhat familiar then. Now, seeing her in this nun’s attire, a spark ignited in Ye Dui’s mind. “You are… Lessa?”
The little girl from childhood who had often played with Wade and Ricken, later taken away by the church!
The nun smiled at Ye Dui. Her gentle voice said, “You have finally recognised me, little brother.”
“Holy shit, it really is you!?”
As orphanage companions, Lessa had been discovered by church members for her potential as a believer and taken for training. Ye Dui had even learned from the old nun that Lessa had died three years ago. So during their chance encounter, though he felt her familiar, he had not linked her to Lessa. Yet now she appeared before him, having become a formidable nun.
That “Granny’s gonna exorcise you” was refreshingly unrefined…
Before the group could recover from their shock, old Bond’s furious roar echoed. With his bellow, the surrounding blood mist seemed to thicken further, like rolling river waters, surging swiftly towards Ye Dui’s group.
Lessa’s face changed slightly. She hastily opened the Bible and flipped to a certain chapter. The crisp chant resounded once more. The white glow on her body, which had faded somewhat, slowly intensified again.
Ye Dui watched in astonishment as Lessa displayed a believer’s power. Debbie, evidently not witnessing this for the first time, said in surprise, “Ye Dui, your little companion is amazing. The first time I saw a believer activate the power from the holy words so swiftly!”
With Lessa’s chant, the white radiance on her grew denser. At the chant’s end, she raised one hand high. “Granny’s got you covered!”
Instantly, a white light barrier enveloped them, halting the blood mist’s advance.
Ye Dui, Debbie, Green, Nick, and the others stared in shock. Debbie, with a bewildered expression, said, “But believer chants usually end with amen or blessings of the divine or such. Hers, this one…”
Seeing the little girl’s puzzled look, Ye Dui guessed she could not find the right adjective.
Meanwhile, Ye Dui gazed at the protective light screen around them, lost in thought. He asked Debbie, “Believers’ powers all rely on chanting to manifest, right?”
“Exactly. Believers’ chants hold divine power and can amplify strength for others, enhancing physical qualities too. Utterly magical.” Debbie’s large eyes sparkled once more. She recalled childhood memories. “Let me tell you, when I was little, I desperately wanted to become a believer nun. I even went to the convent for the exam. Sadly, I got eliminated in the first round for falling asleep during chant practice… But I have always thought believer chants were so cool.”
“Mm, mm, I know that bit already…” Ye Dui nodded. His eyes gleamed somewhat. Chanted songs could amplify power and boost qualities… Then what of the songs and music in his grimoire’s media library?
He seemed to grasp their purpose.
Lessa’s chant-formed barrier blocked the blood mist’s intrusion. Through the mist, Ye Dui vaguely saw old Bond merge with the remaining two blood-robed figures. Their roars carried over sporadically. Clearly, they had not anticipated a powerful nun suddenly thwarting their plans.
A chill flashed in Ye Dui’s eyes.
Old Bond. Ye Dui held no special feelings towards the elder. Yet from Wade’s memories, he could sense that Wade had truly viewed old Bond as kin, as a father. After old Bond’s death, Wade had endured a long period of grief, shedding countless tears. But it had all been false. Old Bond had never truly seen Wade as a son.
Adopting him had been solely to sacrifice him.
To revive some spirit god?
Though Ye Dui observed from a bystander’s vantage, he still felt immense anger, a profound sorrow and rage from being deceived and harmed.
“Hey, you lot had better do something. I cannot hold this for long.” Fine beads of sweat dotted Lessa’s forehead. She said to Ye Dui.
“Summon Jiji…” Debbie had already produced the summoning key.
But Ye Dui waved her off. “Let me handle it. Conserve your mana for now… I think I have figured out something fun. Let me try it. I will deal with them.” With that, he strode straight out of Lessa’s light screen protection. Amid others’ shock, a massive light shield materialised beside Ye Dui automatically. The shield grew enormous, forming a semicircle that enveloped his body, safeguarding him firmly.

Sizzle.
The blood mist corroded the shield ceaselessly, yet failed to dissolve its protection fully. This sight astonished the space magic tutor Green greatly. “That is the [Space Shield] spell? But… it seems somewhat off!”
Ye Dui glanced at the mana consumption rate. It lay within acceptable bounds. Thus, he nodded and opened the media library. He selected a certain music piece worth 100 points. Unlock, download, then play. Soon, amid the pervasive blood mist, a cool guitar riff sounded: dun dun dun, dun dun dun dun…
In the blood mist, old Bond and the other two huddled together. With venomous expressions, they urged the blood mist onward, aiming to melt the trapped group into bloodwater directly. They needed Ye Dui’s flesh and blood. Incorporating it into the mist would achieve the effect too. But at that moment, simple, stirring music brimming with combative fervour resounded. It was rock music, unheard of on Casrot Continent.
The three trembled. They looked towards the blood mist ahead. It parted. The young magic tutor emerged under shield protection. Battle mania lit his face, as if his blood boiled. His robe billowed without wind. His hair danced wildly in the air. Murderous intent pressed forth.

When this BGM plays, my blood begins to boil…
