Fengyuan Group.
Zheng Haoyuan arrived at the Fengyuan Group lobby with two of his men. The front desk receptionist hurried over and asked, “Sir, do you have an appointment?”
“Get lost.”
Pushing aside the receptionist who had come to inquire, Zheng Haoyuan snorted coldly and said, “Tell your president I, Zheng Haoyuan, want to see her.”
The receptionist nearly fell to the ground from Zheng Haoyuan’s push, but she still managed a smile and asked, “Sir, you wish to see our president. Do you have an appointment?”
“Appointment? What appointment?” Zheng Haoyuan sneered and said, “I, Zheng Haoyuan, see whoever I want, no appointment needed. Go fetch your president right now, or face the consequences.”
“Sir…”
“You’re so nosy.” Zheng Haoyuan snorted coldly and slapped her across the face.
Smack!
The receptionist was sent flying by Zheng Haoyuan’s slap, crashing to the ground with a thud.
“You…” The receptionist looked up at Zheng Haoyuan in disbelief. She hadn’t expected him to have the audacity to cause trouble at the Fengyuan Group.
“This is a lesson for you.” Zheng Haoyuan said coldly.
Thud, thud, thud…
Footsteps approached, and a figure appeared in the lobby. Then, a pleasant voice rang out: “What’s going on?”
“Manager, he…” The receptionist scrambled to her feet and whispered the whole story to Zheng Haoyuan.
This manager was none other than the Fengyuan Group’s lobby manager, Liu Ruyan. After hearing the receptionist’s account, her face darkened. In all her time at the Fengyuan Group, she had never encountered such a situation. Her immediate thought was that Zheng Haoyuan was here to make trouble.
With that in mind, Liu Ruyan walked toward Zheng Haoyuan: “Sir, this is the Fengyuan Group. You…”
Before Liu Ruyan could finish, Zheng Haoyuan interrupted her, “I didn’t expect to find such a beauty at the Fengyuan Group. Looks like I came to the right place today.”
As he spoke, Zheng Haoyuan’s gaze roamed over Liu Ruyan.
Her shoulder-length hair had an indescribable elegance, and under her straight bangs were a pair of sparkling, expressive eyes. Her high nose, sensual lips, and exquisite features combined to give her a serene and pure aura.
The fitted white suit showcased her nearly perfect figure.
Zheng Haoyuan hadn’t expected to find such a beautiful woman at the Fengyuan Group besides Hu Yuanyuan. His heart raced with excitement.
Liu Ruyan frowned in disgust. She could feel the lecherous glint in Zheng Haoyuan’s eyes, as if he could see right through her, making her uncomfortable.
“Liu Ruyan!” Zheng Haoyuan glanced at her name tag and smirked, “What a lovely name, poetic and picturesque, just like you.”
“Sir, are you here to see our president? Do you have an appointment?” Liu Ruyan suppressed the urge to walk away, forcing a professional smile as she asked.
“Appointment? No.” Zheng Haoyuan’s eyes fixed on Liu Ruyan’s chest, his mouth practically watering, “I see whoever I want without one. But if Miss Liu is willing, I could make an appointment with her.”
“Sir, please show some respect.” Liu Ruyan’s face turned cold. Even facing Li Feng, she had never felt this angry.
“Respect? Miss Liu, when we go on our date, I’ll respect you fully.” Zheng Haoyuan chuckled. He had never failed to get a woman he wanted, and now that he had set his sights on Liu Ruyan, she was already his in his mind. Resistance? Hmph, a woman just needed money, and Zheng Haoyuan never lacked that.
“Mr. Zheng…” Liu Ruyan’s face fell completely. She hadn’t expected this elegantly dressed man to be so shameless.
Zheng Haoyuan pointed at Liu Ruyan and said, “I, Zheng Haoyuan, always get the women I want. I’ve set my sights on you, Liu Ruyan. It’s your fortune from lifetimes past. If I were you, I’d follow me obediently. Make me happy, and you’ll enjoy endless wealth and luxury.”
“Security.” Liu Ruyan could no longer hold back and called for the guards: “Escort him out.”
Zheng Haoyuan’s face darkened: “Liu Ruyan, think carefully. Following me is your best choice. There’s no woman in this world I, Zheng Haoyuan, can’t have. Don’t you want wealth and luxury? Follow me, and I’ll give you ten thousand pounds a month in pocket money.”
“Hmph, I don’t want it.” Liu Ruyan said coldly. Was she the type to bend for money?
Zheng Haoyuan glared at Liu Ruyan coldly, grinning wickedly: “There’s no woman I can’t get. Just you wait.”
As the two security guards approached him, Zheng Haoyuan’s gaze turned icy, a flash of cold light in his eyes.
“Sir, please leave.” The two guards said sternly as they reached him.
“Get lost.”
Whoosh!
With those words, Zheng Haoyuan lunged forward. His right fist swung casually, surging with energy, his arm a blur.
Bang, bang!
The two guards offered no resistance, sent flying by Zheng Haoyuan and crashing heavily to the ground.
“How is this possible?”
Liu Ruyan stared in disbelief. The Fengyuan Group’s security weren’t ordinary guards; they were elite retired soldiers. Though not one against ten, their skills were exceptional. Yet she never imagined two skilled guards couldn’t withstand a single move from Zheng Haoyuan. Was he too strong, or were the guards too weak?
“Nothing’s impossible.” Zheng Haoyuan’s gaze settled on Liu Ruyan, and he smiled, “I’m not just skilled in combat; I’m even better in bed. No woman who’s been with me can leave. Why not give it a try, Miss Liu?”
Liu Ruyan’s face turned ashen. She turned to the receptionist: “Call the police.”
Zheng Haoyuan’s expression shifted. No matter how arrogant he was, he wouldn’t dare act out in front of the police. He gave Liu Ruyan a deep, venomous look and gritted his teeth: “Fine, Liu Ruyan, you’re something. I’ll remember you.”
Liu Ruyan sneered. Zheng Haoyuan was clearly here to cause trouble; no need to be polite. And after such humiliation, how could she let it slide?
“I’m here to see Hu Yuanyuan.” Zheng Haoyuan hadn’t forgotten his main purpose today. He wasn’t about to abandon seeing Hu Yuanyuan for Liu Ruyan. Besides, in his view, though Liu Ruyan was feisty, he had plenty of ways to deal with her.
“Our president isn’t someone like you who can just see on a whim.” Liu Ruyan sneered. Zheng Haoyuan had started the trouble; she had no qualms about offending him.
“Call Hu Yuanyuan and tell her I want to see her.” Zheng Haoyuan said to his subordinate.
“Yes, Young Master Zheng.”
Liu Ruyan was puzzled and wary. Did Zheng Haoyuan really know Hu Yuanyuan? If so, why act so brazenly and humiliate her?
“I’ll deal with you later.” Zheng Haoyuan said coldly to Liu Ruyan.
As Liu Ruyan grew uneasy, the lift doors opened, and Xu Qing stepped out.
“Assistant Xu.” Liu Ruyan looked at Xu Qing, her expression changing slightly. Was Xu Qing here to take Zheng Haoyuan to see Hu Yuanyuan?
“Assistant Xu, fancy seeing you so soon.” Zheng Haoyuan’s eyes lit up at the sight of Xu Qing. On his last visit to the Fengyuan Group, he had fancied two women: Hu Yuanyuan and Xu Qing. This time, besides Fu Shao’s machines, he was here to claim these two beauties.
Zheng Haoyuan was a martial artist, and an unusual one at that. He cultivated a yin-supplementing yang-harvesting technique, requiring many women to advance his cultivation. The more women, and the better their constitutions, the faster his progress.
His technique also allowed him to discern women easily. The moment he saw Xu Qing and Hu Yuanyuan, he knew they would greatly aid his cultivation.
“Mr. Zheng, we made it clear last time. Why are you back?” Xu Qing’s face turned icy the instant she saw Zheng Haoyuan. She had no fondness for him, and since the company had decided not to hand over the machines, she had no reason to be polite.
“Assistant Xu, I said those machines were procured for me by Sun Xipeng. Now they’re here; what right do you have to withhold them?” Zheng Haoyuan said with a sullen face. Though he needed Xu Qing and Hu Yuanyuan for cultivation, he knew the machines’ importance to Fu Shao even more. Fu Shao’s calls had been relentless, so upon seeing Xu Qing, his first thought was to secure the machines and give Fu Shao an account. As for Xu Qing and Hu Yuanyuan, like Liu Ruyan, they were his for the taking eventually.
“Mr. Zheng, you have no proof those machines were for you. Our company has the right to dispose of them.” Xu Qing said.
“Then I’ll buy them from your company.” Zheng Haoyuan’s expression flickered. He had insisted they were his commission partly because it was true, partly because he hated spending millions extra. But Fu Shao needed them, and with the calls piling up, he knew he couldn’t delay; he had to decide now.
Xu Qing glanced indifferently at Zheng Haoyuan. If he had agreed earlier, without the customs incident framing the Fengyuan Group, it would have been settled. But now? Xu Qing sneered inwardly.
“Mr. Zheng, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed. We’ve already disposed of those machines. If you need them, you can commission our company to procure them. In three months, we can bring them back from France.”
“What?” Zheng Haoyuan stared in disbelief, his gaze locked on Xu Qing: “Those machines were mine, Zheng Haoyuan’s. Who authorised disposal? Tell me, what did you do with them? Who did you sell them to?”
“That’s commercial confidential information. Why should I tell you?” Xu Qing replied.
“You, very good.” Zheng Haoyuan took a deep breath, glaring coldly at Xu Qing. If looks could kill, she would have died countless times by now.
“Assistant Xu, do you know the consequences of offending me, Zheng Haoyuan?” A chilling glint flashed in Zheng Haoyuan’s eyes as he looked at Xu Qing: “Treating me like a fool? I think this Fengyuan Group no longer needs to exist.”
