Crossgate Seal Chapter 386 - LiddRead

Crossgate Seal Chapter 386

“What’s the situation?” Lu Zheng asked.

“The situation is quite complicated.” Lin Wan frowned as she spoke, “There are three tasks. One is to rescue a colleague from Mian Country, another is to investigate the details of the suspect’s transaction this time and obtain evidence of their crimes, and the last is to gather information on the suspect’s trading partner.”

Lu Zheng raised an eyebrow, “One of your people got caught again?”

Lin Wan was speechless, “Could you not use that word ‘again’?”

“Fine.” Lu Zheng nodded, “Last time they died, so it really wasn’t just getting caught.”

Lin Wan, “…”

Lu Zheng grinned and patted Lin Wan’s back to soothe her, drawing out a curve, “Will you handle it yourself? Or do you need my help?”

Lin Wan sighed, “Help me. I’m afraid I won’t make it in time to save that colleague.”

Lu Zheng nodded and stopped joking around, “Tell me the details?”

“Don’t rush. My section chief didn’t explain it clearly to me either. Hmm, the detailed information has arrived.”

Lin Wan held her phone and heard a “ding dong” sound. It was the information coming through.

“The information is set to non-transferable. Let’s go back to the room and look at it together first.” Lin Wan said.

Lu Zheng nodded. He had no objection.

Sha Dun was outwardly a businessman from Mian Country, but secretly he operated a force in the jungles of the three northern countries. He was a somewhat notorious white trader in the circles.

His goods were sold to multiple Southeast Asian countries and he had long been targeted by police from several nations. However, every undercover agent sent in had vanished without a trace. This transaction was the last message sent back by the final undercover agent.

By the time the message was received, Sha Dun had already boarded a flight to Ya City in Qiong Province.

To keep the information confidential, Mian Country dispatched an Interpol officer who followed him all the way, searching for evidence.

However, before China could provide targeted support and deployment, this Mian Country Interpol officer lost contact with headquarters.

“This is the last message that police officer sent back.” Lin Wan flipped to the last line on a certain page of the information.

[The suspect received a phone call and is heading to the restaurant. I’m preparing to check his bedroom.]

“Is this guy asking for death? This is practically a classic movie trope. Even the protagonist would barely survive it. As an extra, does he think his life is too long?” Lu Zheng complained.

“In any case, he went missing after sending this message last night.”

Lin Wan turned off her phone, “Since no one reported it, apart from the Mian Country branch, no one knows an Interpol officer has gone missing.”

“Tsk tsk.” Lu Zheng shook his head, “Calm on the surface, but turbulent underneath!”

The ordinary tourists in the hotel, or even the staff, probably hadn’t noticed.

Hmm, maybe in a few days a staff member would discover someone missing, but by then everything would likely be over, and there wouldn’t be any news. Most people wouldn’t know what happened.

Lu Zheng looked at Lin Wan, “They assigned you to handle this case. What support do you have? For example, can you mobilise the local police for help?”

Lin Wan frowned and shook her head, “No. To avoid alerting the enemy, Interpol didn’t even notify the Ya City police department. And to catch Sha Dun’s gang all at once this time, we should avoid arresting him as much as possible and instead seek as much transaction information and criminal evidence as we can.”

Lu Zheng frowned but didn’t suggest he handle it himself. Since the case was being handled by Interpol, it was natural for them to continue.

“Prioritise saving your colleague?”

Lin Wan nodded, her delicate eyebrows furrowing slightly as she pondered and said, “Last night… it’s been nearly a day already. Is he still alive?”

“I don’t know. Let’s go take a look first.” Lu Zheng saw the room number for Sha Dun in the information.

Building A, Room 0801, Ocean View Supreme Suite.

“Are you coming with me?”

“Of course!”

Lu Zheng and Lin Wan went to investigate, but of course they wouldn’t bother with disguises, probes, or sneaking in.

One invisibility spell, and everything was sorted!

The two didn’t head to Sha Dun’s ocean view suite first. Instead, they went to the room booked by Lin Wan’s missing colleague.

Lu Zheng pointed with his finger, and with a light movement of his true energy, the door lock clicked open automatically.

Gently pushing the door, Lu Zheng and Lin Wan entered the room.

“They’ve been here.” Lin Wan said.

The room had clearly been ransacked. Things from the suitcase and document bag were scattered everywhere, but what remained in the room were all irrelevant materials. All the information about Sha Dun had vanished completely.

With a flick of his hand seal, Lu Zheng extracted three strands of aura from the room.

One large and two small.

Clearly, the large one was the aura of Lin Wan’s colleague.

Lin Wan looked at Lu Zheng, “How is it?”

Lu Zheng nodded, “Lucky. He’s actually still alive.”

Lin Wan’s eyes lit up, “Really? That’s great. Where is he?”

Lu Zheng sensed carefully and couldn’t help turning his head towards the sea.

“On the sea?”

“On the sea.” Lu Zheng nodded.

“A yacht?”

“Probably.” Lu Zheng said.

“Sha Dun rented a yacht. Why isn’t it in the information?” Lin Wan was a bit dissatisfied.

Lu Zheng shrugged, “Clearly, you didn’t know.”

Lin Wan, “…”

Lin Wan frowned, then immediately pulled Lu Zheng to Sha Dun’s suite.

“There are people inside.” Lu Zheng said, “Five people, which doesn’t match the information.”

Lin Wan said, “Sha Dun came to Ya City this time with a secretary, an accountant, and four bodyguards, a total of seven people. But now there are only five.”

“That means the other two are on the sea watching your colleague.” Lu Zheng said, “So the question is, if we rescue your colleague now, will Sha Dun still dare to proceed with the transaction?”

Lin Wan thought for a moment and said, “Let’s go check the yacht first. In my opinion, before Sha Dun completes the transaction, he shouldn’t kill my colleague.”

Lu Zheng nodded, “Let’s go!”

Treading on waves, not to mention Lu Zheng, even Lin Wan could do it before her blood energy was exhausted.

The yacht rented by Sha Dun wasn’t far from shore. Or rather, it was quite close. It was visible to the naked eye.

The two quickly arrived near the yacht and boarded it. In a storage room on the lower deck of the yacht, they found a man tied up like a dumpling.

“Is it him?”

Though his face was bruised and swollen, Lin Wan still recognised him, “It’s him.”

“Tsk tsk tsk.” Lu Zheng glanced at the several ballast stones thrown not far from him, “Looks like his days are numbered.”

Lu Zheng looked at Lin Wan, “If we go back to monitor Sha Dun, you might not make it in time here.”

Lin Wan shook her head, “No. We’ll wait right here for them.”

“Ah?”

Lin Wan raised her delicate eyebrows, “How could Sha Dun rent a yacht just to dump a body? So obviously, this transaction is happening on this yacht.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Zheng shuddered dramatically and decisively gave a thumbs up, “Boss, you’re awesome!”
