Crossgate Seal Chapter 387

The sun rose from the east.

“What a beautiful view.” Lin Wan said.

“We’re really seeing the sunrise at sea for the first time. It feels entirely different.”

Lu Zheng held Lin Wan, and the two sat side by side on top of the yacht, watching a great sun emerge from the line where sea met sky, slowly rising and casting threads of golden yellow across the heavens and earth.

“We’re such country bumpkins. When we get back, let’s rent a yacht, then head further out to sea and feel the vastness and grandeur that the endless ocean brings.”

Lu Zheng glanced back at the nearby shore, then said to Lin Wan.

Lin Wan asked, “Just the two of us?”

Lu Zheng nodded, “Just the two of us!”

“Then…” Lin Wan blinked, “Do you know how to drive a yacht?”

Lu Zheng, “…”

Lu Zheng looked down and could sense a man in the wheelhouse, skilfully operating the various instruments.

“These days, do bodyguards have such high requirements?” Lu Zheng asked.

“These two clearly carry a hint of military bearing. They might have served in special forces in Mian Country or Myanmar before.” Lin Wan said.

“Fair enough.” Lu Zheng nodded, “I wonder how long it would take to get a yacht licence, but it’s definitely too late for this time.”

Lin Wan pursed her lips in a sly smile, then linked her arm with Lu Zheng’s and leaned on his shoulder, “When you carried me across the sea stepping on the helicopter door, it was far more romantic than watching the sunrise on a yacht.”

Lu Zheng burst out laughing, “Alright! Not just crossing the sea, next time I’ll carry you flying in the sky!”

Lin Wan smiled in surprise, then her eyes suddenly lit up, “Are you about to be able to fly?”

Lin Wan had achieved success in martial arts and received Lu Zheng’s teaching of the “Taiyuan Xuanshu”. Although she had not yet cultivated true energy, she had stepped onto the threshold of a cultivator and knew knowledge related to cultivation.

Flying through the air was not something an ordinary cultivator could do.

“Heh heh, almost!”

After a year of rapid progress in cultivation, Lu Zheng had entered the next phase of rapid advancement.

By freeloading off Shen Ying’s incense aura, freeloading off Liu Qingyan’s merit golden light, and on top of drinking bellflower ganoderma wine daily, eating Biro fruit, Zhu fruit, and Jade Essence Pills, Lu Zheng’s foundation was three parts stronger than the previous year.

Moreover, since the trip to Jinhua Sect, he had not obtained any new techniques, so his luck light remained sufficient, and the pace of his cultivation realm advancement had not stopped.

It made Lu Zheng quite embarrassed. At this rate, wouldn’t he become invincible in no time?

How lonely that would be!

“Invincible is how, how lonely… invincible is how, how empty…”

“Why are you singing?” Lin Wan asked with a laugh.

“Nothing.” Lu Zheng put on a serious face, “Just a sudden burst of inspiration.”

Yu Yin, “…”

“They’re here!” Lin Wan straightened up and looked towards a speedboat approaching the yacht.

The two had excellent eyesight and could see that on the speedboat, besides the driver, the remaining five were Sha Dun and his group.

Sha Dun, leading them, was about 1.7 metres tall, slightly plump, with a round face and small eyes, and a friendly smile always on his face. He looked like a kindly neighbourhood uncle.

He wore only a floral shirt and large shorts, completely dressed for a tourist outing. In contrast, the four behind him were all in formal white shirts and black trousers.

The speedboat cut through the waves and soon drew near the yacht, arriving at the hanging ladder at the rear.

Sha Dun and his five men boarded the yacht one by one, then the speedboat turned around and headed back the way it came.

“How is he?” Sha Dun asked.

“He’s still in the storage room. Not dead.” One of the bodyguards said.

Sha Dun nodded, “Don’t kill him yet, or the smell will be too strong. Sink him directly at sea later.”

“Yes!”

“Tsk tsk, such a strong killer instinct.” Lu Zheng smacked his lips.

Lin Wan glanced back at Lu Zheng, pursed her lips, and said nothing.

On the yacht, Sha Dun raised his hand to check his Patek Philippe on his wrist, then turned towards the eastern sea and extended a hand to one of the bodyguards.

The bodyguard immediately handed over a pair of binoculars.

Sha Dun took the binoculars and gazed intently.

Soon, another yacht, entirely white, appeared in Sha Dun’s view.

It also appeared simultaneously in Lu Zheng and Lin Wan’s view.

“The trading partner?”

“Probably.”

Seeing someone on the opposite yacht wave towards them, Sha Dun waved back in greeting, then said to the bodyguard driving the yacht, “Set sail, head out to sea.”

“Yes!”

“Mr Sha Dun!”

“Mr Sonny!”

The yacht reached further out to sea, then drew close to the other yacht, and a plank was laid between the two vessels.

From the opposite boat, a middle-aged mixed-race foreigner clearly came over to this side.

“This way please. I’ve specially opened a bottle of 2002 Romanée-Conti.”

“Hahaha, too kind, Mr Sha Dun is so hospitable!”

The two wore full smiles, arms around each other’s shoulders as they entered the yacht’s living room, their respective assistants following close by, while the bodyguards stood on the deck.

Lu Zheng pulled Lin Wan and lightly floated down from the top of the yacht, then leisurely entered the living room and sat in a corner far from them.

Lin Wan took out her phone from her bag, switched to recording mode, then crossed her legs and propped the phone on her knee, starting to record.

“Same old rules this time?”

“No, this time I want three times as much.”

“That much?” Sha Dun’s eyes flashed as he chuckled softly, “Such a large quantity, I might not be able to supply it.”

“Hahaha, price up five percent.”

Sha Dun laughed, “Looks like you’ve found a good channel.”

Sha Dun and Sonny spoke in English, which Lu Zheng indicated he could understand.

The two quickly settled on the time, location, and method for this transaction, then Sonny directly paid the deposit to Sha Dun via the network right on site.

And all of this was captured by Lin Wan’s phone, even when paying the deposit, the two came near them, recording the contents of the computer screen.

In this way, Lin Wan’s task two and task three were completed together.

“Pleasant cooperation!”

Having received the deposit, Sha Dun beamed with smiles, took the wine bottle, opened it on the spot, and poured a glass of red wine for himself and Sonny each.

“Pleasant cooperation!”

Sonny took the glass Sha Dun offered, the two clinked lightly, and drank it down.

After seeing Sonny off and watching the other’s yacht depart, Sha Dun surveyed the surroundings, all endless sea.

“Drag that Interpol officer out.”

“Yes!”

Moments later, two bodyguards dragged the middle-aged man out, while another held over a hundred pounds of ballast stone.

“Woo… woo…”

The man struggled, trying to speak.

Sha Dun extended one finger and gently shook it, interrupting his muffled sounds.

“Whether you’re surrendering or cursing, no need to say it.” Sha Dun laughed, “I neither need an Interpol undercover nor want to hear you curse me, so just die.”

“Woo… woo…”

“Sink him at sea.”

“Yes!”

The two bodyguards flipped him over the side along with the ballast stone into the sea.

“Set sail, back to the hotel.”

Sha Dun drained the Romanée-Conti in his glass, “I’ve booked tickets for the Dashu Theatre performance. Don’t miss it.”
