Dust To Divinity Chapter 939

“Ximen, I’ll protect my master,” Leng Mei interjected.

She naturally sided with Ling Xiao.

“Heh, better safe than sorry. If something happens, it’ll be trouble,” Ximen Bo said, unwilling to let it go but careful not to overstep, hoping for danger in the shallows to seize a chance to shine.

Then, it’d be clear who was the hero and who the fool. Could Leng Mei not admire him?

As they say, beauties love heroes.

Ling Xiao glanced at Ximen Bo, thinking, this guy better not cross the line, or he’d learn what fear truly is.

Without Qin Huo, Ling Xiao still had plenty of ways to make Ximen Bo disappear without a trace.

“Into the water,” the first mate and his two companions leapt into the sea.

The others followed.

In the water, Ling Xiao noticed the passage seemed man-made, large enough for a ship, let alone people.

The first mate’s warning of danger soon proved true.

Though shallow, the sea hosted fierce marine creatures. So many martial artists swimming through disturbed the “shallow sea giant lizards” living there.

These lizards, low in intelligence, had powerful electric discharge abilities, strong enough to kill a Three Talents Heaven cultivator instantly.

Even a peak Four Symbols Heaven cultivator would be injured.

Worse, the lizards appeared in pairs, male and female, a near-certain death for a peak Four Symbols Heaven cultivator.

“Be careful, avoid them, provoking them does us no good,” the first mate said calmly.

Seawater conducted electricity, a lizard’s discharge could harm everyone nearby.

“What’s to fear? Kill them. Their hides make fine armour, their beast cores great for pills. If you’re scared, stay back,” Ximen Bo said, seizing his chance to show off.

Though two lizards were dangerous, often fatal to peak Four Symbols Heaven cultivators, Ximen Bo wasn’t ordinary, his strength surpassing expectations.

He aimed to prove it.

Before the first mate could stop him, Ximen Bo charged.

“Idiot!” someone muttered.

Why waste strength here?

The group moved away, knowing distance weakened the electric current, minimising injury.

Zzt zzt zzt!

Boom!

Crackle!

The lizards spotted Ximen Bo charging, their massive eyes flashing with ferocious intent.

Sleeping comfortably, they were furious at this human’s disturbance.

“Two beasts, daring to defy me? Surrender and die!” Ximen Bo sneered, raising his right hand, revealing a long sword.

An immortal-grade treasure, no doubt, exuding a chilling aura, as if freezing the nearby water.

“Using an ice weapon in seawater? What’s he thinking?” someone wondered.

Ice weapons could freeze water, hindering martial techniques.

Unbeknownst to them, Ximen Bo was performing, wanting Leng Mei to see him slay two lizards effortlessly in tough conditions.

Zzt zzt zzt!

Boom!

Crackle!

Enraged by his drawn sword, the lizards opened their maws, unleashing terrifying lightning.

The bolts surged through the water toward Ximen Bo, stray currents making lower-cultivation martial artists pale.

“Even the stray currents are terrifying, how strong are those aimed at Ximen Bo?” a Two Principles Heaven cultivator remarked, his face ashen, knowing one lizard would kill him instantly.

Yet Ximen Bo’s performance was commanding.

“Surrender and die!”

Facing the thick lightning, he didn’t pause, his ice sword slashing to form a massive ice shield before him.

The shield blocked the lightning.

As the crowd marvelled at his deft move, a more shocking scene unfolded.

Beside the shield, a thin ice trail appeared in the water, shooting toward one lizard with lightning speed.

“Ice Snake Sting!”

The ice, like a serpent, pierced the female lizard’s head.

The water turned blood-red, the female lizard killed in one strike.

The male, enraged, attacked wildly.

Low in intelligence and now irrational, it couldn’t find Ximen Bo.

When he reappeared, he stood atop its head, driving his sword down.

With a mournful roar, the male lizard convulsed and died.

“Impressive, this guy’s strong,” another peak Four Symbols Heaven cultivator, much older, perhaps over a hundred, with a sleazy look, chuckled, “Among us, he matches my cultivation, and his combat strength is no less. Truly promising.”

Cai Weiwei, beaming with pride, turned to Ling Xiao and Leng Mei, “See? That’s my Brother Ximen’s strength. Despite only peak Four Symbols Heaven, he fears no Five Elements Heaven cultivator. Follow him, and you’ve nothing to worry about.”

“Not bad,” Ling Xiao said lightly.

To him, Ximen Bo was stronger than most peak Four Symbols Heaven cultivators but paled against true geniuses, like Blood Skeleton, with whom he had a life-or-death duel.

Though he disliked Blood Skeleton, at the same level, Blood Skeleton’s performance far outshone Ximen Bo’s.
