Sako was already prepared to act. He also knew that Debbie might not be able to hold on for much longer, so he wanted to quickly finish off the ghost aggregate monster in front of him. However, his temper had always been eccentric. He could act foolishly without any dignity, or suddenly become nitpicky about minor things. For example, right now, he was very displeased with Ye Dui’s disrespect, so he wanted to deliberately tease Ye Dui a bit.
If you want to deal with this monster, then beg me. If you beg me, I will act…
But Ye Dui had no intention of doing as he wished. Immediately after, the bald man in the strange pyjamas was summoned out. The bald man looked utterly confused, as if he had been sleeping just before being summoned. Now suddenly arriving in an unfamiliar place, it took several seconds before he opened his mouth and made a look of sudden realisation. “I have come here again. How strange. Why is it that every time I go back, I forget everything about this place?” He scratched his bald head in puzzlement.
“So, the heroic spirits I summon from those movies and anime forget everything about this place every time they return?” Ye Dui was learning this for the first time. He then waved at the bald man. “Saitama-sensei, that monster is troubling you.”
“This weirdo seems pretty strong.” Saitama’s dead-fish eyes glanced towards the ghost aggregate that was continuously growing and colliding. “Yosh, then I am going in!” He swung his arms, preparing to charge.
Sako was almost exploding with rage at this point, because he felt no threat at all from Saitama. He shouted at Ye Dui: “You brat, what kind of trash heroic spirit is this? Hurry up and beg me…”
Whoosh,
The bald man’s figure suddenly vanished. He had not used magic, nor sword techniques. It was pure physical speed achieved solely by his body’s power. He was charging towards that terrifying ghost aggregate. With his departure, cracks appeared on the ground, wind pressure spreading in all directions. Even Sako’s body swayed involuntarily. This cut Sako’s words short, and his gaze followed to the ghost aggregate.
He saw the bald pyjama man leap in front of the monster, raise his right fist, and punch out!
One-fifteenth Serious Punch!!!
A gale began to howl with this punch. The fist wind carried supreme power, sweeping in all directions. The shrieks of the ghosts echoed continuously in the night sky. The earlier muscle giant battle between Ye Dui and the Joker Girl had already destroyed countless houses, leaving the area a mess. Only a few houses still stood resiliently. But as those houses were swept by One-Punch Heroic Spirit’s fist wind, they instantly turned to ashes and ruins.
Ye Dui tightly held Debbie in his arms. The armour knight’s passive defence was activated, helping Ye Dui block the wind pressure’s impact. Sako held one hand in front of his eyes, his aged face now covered in shock.
“I am not willing,” a shrill scream rang out in the night. That was the Joker Girl’s voice.
Then everything returned to dust, to earth.
The night was still dim, starlight sprinkling down. In the midst of the wreckage, Saitama in his pyjamas and slippers landed. A hint of happiness appeared on his habitually lifeless face. He felt that being summoned to this world from time to time was really quite nice. Each time it allowed him to exercise his skills in a very satisfying way, giving him a bit of solace from that endless melancholy of invincible loneliness.
“Then, see you next week.” One-Punch Heroic Spirit waved at Ye Dui, and his body dissipated into the air.
Ye Dui saw that the spot where the Joker Girl had stood was now empty. Not only the Joker Girl, but even all those ghosts from Joker Town had completely vanished without a trace. Ye Dui checked the map on his iPad magic guidebook and confirmed there was no sign of the Joker Girl anywhere around. This time, it seemed they had finally thoroughly eliminated the Joker Girl. He could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Thus, he collapsed straight onto the street while holding Debbie.
Sako stood to the side with a complicated expression, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable inside. Since this kid could summon such a powerful heroic spirit so easily, why bother summoning him with all that effort? He had finally been summoned once and did not even get a chance to show off…
“You brat…”
Sako wanted to curse a few words, but then he realised Ye Dui had already fallen into a deep sleep.
The successive battles tonight had already brought him immense fatigue. Plus, his magic power was now nearly completely depleted. He finally could not endure it any longer.
Debbie was not unconscious yet, but she was almost no different from being unconscious. To summon Sako required her to concentrate all her magic power and energy. She was just a tiny bit away from completely passing out. Sako hummed from his mouth, but his gaze towards Debbie softened again. He squatted down and gently placed his head on Debbie’s head: “My descendant, it is my honour to become your heroic spirit. You have not yet fully tapped into your own potential. I believe you will become a person even stronger than me in the future…”
Sako had once told the Joker Girl, “Who told you that you are stronger than Debbie?” He was not just saying it casually.
A wind blew by, and Sako scattered into the air with it.
About half an hour later, some footsteps approached. The arrivals were Green, Lessa, Guni, and several town residents. Green held a magic light lamp illuminating the surroundings. When they arrived here and saw the apocalyptic ruin-like scene, they all widened their eyes in astonishment.
Green could not help but sigh to Lessa: “The guild leader must have caused some kind of magic again.”
“I wonder how little brother and little sister are?” Lessa was only concerned about this point. Earlier, they had been hiding in a room protecting those children, resisting the ghost invasion. They had nearly been severely injured by ghosts several times. At the same time, they had all heard the terrifying sounds coming from other directions of the town: roars, explosions, houses collapsing. Even the ground had felt waves of tremors. Although they had not seen it with their own eyes, it was enough to convey the intensity of the battle. And sure enough, this uninhabited area of the town had been nearly completely destroyed.
Those town residents stared dumbfounded at the collapsed houses, their faces full of incredulous shock. What immense power could have caused such destruction here?
Soon, their group spotted the figures of Ye Dui and Debbie lying together in the ruins. Lessa, Green, and Guni hurriedly rushed over.
“They are fine, just unconscious…” After checking, Lessa quickly made the judgement, which let her breathe a sigh of relief. But her expression soon turned puzzled again. “But what is with little brother’s clothes… How can clothes get completely burst off in a fight?”
“This is enough to show how fierce the battle just now was.” Green judged.
“Ye Dui’s trousers are fine though.” Guni squatted beside, using her hand to poke at Ye Dui’s loose trousers, and even peered inside with interest.
Lessa hurriedly swatted away Guni’s hand and glared at her: “Guni, do not forget you are a girl. Learn to be reserved!”
“Sister Lessa, you just sneaked a peek too!”
“Did I? I, I am a doctor. A doctor’s business, how can it count as sneaking a peek…”
Green beside them: “…”
…
When Ye Dui woke up, he found himself lying on a comfortable big bed. His body still carried the soreness from fatigue, but his spirit had improved a lot. The room was somewhat dim, letting him judge that morning had not yet arrived. He summoned his magic guidebook and found he had only been unconscious for two or three hours. When he got up from the bed, Ye Dui saw Debbie lying beside him.
Compared to Ye Dui, Debbie was probably even more fatigued. After confirming Debbie was fine, he jumped down from the bed. Only then did he realise his body had been changed into a new set of clothes. He did not know who had helped him change… Lessa or Guni. Oh dear, how embarrassing.
“Guild leader, you are awake?” Green walked in from outside carrying a basin of water. Seeing Ye Dui, he said delightedly, “That is great. I was still worried you were too severely injured. Oh, I helped you change your clothes.”
“Is that so…” Ye Dui felt a bit awkward for a moment. He stretched his arms and asked, “How is everyone? No one got hurt, right?”
“A few villagers died. It looks like they were drained of magic power. And a few are seriously injured. But the children are all fine. This situation is already quite good.” Green explained. “Oh, right, there is also Jacob and Denny. At the time those ghosts appeared, Jacob was with Denny the whole time. Later, we searched for half a day before finding them in an abandoned well. They had hidden inside it.”
When he said this, Green could not help but recall the scene at the time.
Several villagers discovered the two in the well, so they hurriedly called Green, Guni, and Lessa. When they pulled the two out, Jacob had already fainted, with many wounds on his body. Last night, he had desperately protected Denny, finally holding her and jumping into the well, escaping the disaster.
Of course, one could not fail to mention Denny’s summoned heroic spirit: Fierce Beast Hal.
This guy had been trembling the whole time in Denny’s arms. When they brought it out of the dry well and discovered it was safe, it suddenly perked up and howled vigorously a few times, making Denny unspeakably angry. She immediately said: “I did not expect you to be such a coward. From now on, your name will simply be read backwards!”
Hmm, the clown family’s way of thinking was just that magical…
“Now Denny is guarding by Jacob’s side. I feel she might really like that brat.” Finally, Green said this, his tone full of resentment while speaking. Why? In the guild, he was the oldest in age, and he was still single. That Jacob, who was even a level shorter than him, was on the verge of getting out of singledom…
“Right!” After sighing something about “I wonder when Ji Ji will grow up”, Green suddenly remembered something and said to Ye Dui, “The Ninth Prince does not know where he ran off to… Guild leader, could he have been killed by those ghosts? If the Ninth Prince dies here, the people outside might frame it as you killing him!”
