After dealing with the two guards, Ye Chui quickly intruded into one guard’s memory world via the magic guide book.
That guard was not dead, merely drained of vitality by Ye Chui, leaving him utterly feeble and unable even to stand. A faint groan escaped his lips. Ye Chui entered their memory worlds with ease.
Once Debbie, Raisa, and the others arrived, they immediately set to work handling the corpses of the two dead Earth Dragon Beasts with practised efficiency. Back when they had taken down the Tenth Prince’s Dragon Knight Guards in Furnace City, they had ignored those Earth Dragon Beast corpses. Later, they regretted it somewhat; those were magical beast meat, after all. If they had collected the bodies then, it would have been ideal. This time, they absolutely would not let the opportunity pass.
Green, Jacob, and Guni joined in to swiftly process the two Earth Dragon Beasts, storing them in Green’s [Storage Space]. Green’s [Storage Space] had originally been quite limited, but now that he had become an intermediate magic tutor, his space magic had further strengthened. The [Storage Space] in his magic guide book had also grown enormously. Although it still could not compare to Ye Chui’s, it was already quite impressive.
By the time they finished all this, Ye Chui had also gleaned the situation inside the hot spring resort from that guard’s memories.
“There are now ten guards inside, along with six Earth Dragon Beasts.” Ye Chui explained to his little companions, “Furthermore, as expected, there is indeed a sixth-tier Blood Snake Beast in the hot spring resort’s hot springs. This Blood Snake Beast has lived in the Jores family for thousands of years. It seems to have reached the peak of sixth tier. The Beast family placed it in the hot springs partly to guard the place and partly in hopes that it could fully advance here.”
This news was crucial. Debbie frowned: “I have heard of the Beast family’s Blood Snake Beast too. That beast is actually advancing further; perfect timing for us to run into it. We can kill it first. I heard that during past civil unrest in the Star Empire, this Blood Snake Beast once devoured many living people en masse, including numerous commoners. Because it was wartime, it was never held accountable afterwards.”
“Little brother, did you find out what that Blood Snake Beast looks like? What abilities does it have?” Raisa then asked.
Ye Chui shook his head: “That Blood Snake Beast has not appeared for many years; even these Beast family guards do not know. However, he seems to have vaguely glimpsed the shadow of that Blood Snake Beast once…” He paused before continuing, “That magical beast appears to have two heads; it is terribly fearsome!”
“A two-headed snake?” Green said in surprise.
“We can leave the Blood Snake Beast for now; first, let us deal with those few guards. Danni, those few guards are in the rest villa at the resort entrance. Do you know where that is?”
“I know; follow me!”
Under Danni’s lead, Ye Chui and his group entered the hot spring resort.
The resort’s temperature was very mild, not oppressively hot. Thick steam enveloped the area, yet it did not feel uncomfortably humid. The ground grew pristine green plants, with azure stone paths laid through the centre. The entire resort was built in an elegant and serene style, but now it was deathly quiet, with no sounds at all. Even the insect and bird calls most common in summer were absent. Ye Chui knew this was all because of the Blood Snake Beast; with this magical beast lurking here, all insects and ants in the vicinity would flee.
Soon, Ye Chui and his group arrived before a wooden villa. Bright lights shone from within, and faint voices of conversation drifted out. The silhouettes of several people were reflected on the glazed windows.
On the grassy lawn outside the villa, several Earth Dragon Beasts the size of small hills lay prone, dozing.
Scattered on the nearby grass were fragments of bones and clots of blood, evidently the remnants after they devoured their food.
“Earth Dragon Beasts are now the most common magical beasts. In the Jores family’s beast garden, it is said that hundreds of Earth Dragon Beast packs live there.” Danni explained in a low voice. Although Earth Dragon Beasts were only second-tier, they were still quite rare; only nobles had the privilege to raise them as mounts.
These creatures had tremendous endurance and skin as hard as iron. Though not particularly intelligent, they were far stronger than ordinary animals, with mouths full of sharp teeth like blades and astonishing biting force.
Their roars were also exceptionally loud.
Facing the six Earth Dragon Beasts on the grass, Ye Chui and the others could dispatch them with ease, but doing so silently was not simple.
“Let us deal with these Earth Dragon Beasts first.” Ye Chui swiftly made the arrangements.
Green eagerly volunteered to handle one. Guni’s greatsword could smash three at once. Raisa’s holy words were enough to fell two instantly. And Debbie had already summoned Gilga, preparing to have Gilga charge straight into the villa to eliminate those inside.
Once agreed, Ye Chui waved his hand, signalling the start of the action. On Green’s side, he had long since taken out his brick and begun gravity acceleration charging… well, that involved teleporting the brick back and forth to the high air repeatedly, building up its falling momentum with each drop.
Ye Chui dispersed into a swarm of bats, grabbed Guni’s arm, and under the cover of night, quietly carried her into the air. Raisa took out the Holy Bible and began reciting one of its chapters. Then, at a certain moment, the thunderous assault launched: the bats of Ye Chui’s divided form released Guni’s arm, and she plummeted downward. At the same time, Ye Chui swiftly retrieved the Fire Ant Greatsword and passed it to Guni. Green’s brick finished charging; with a flick of his hand, he opened a patch of azure light and shadow directly beside one Earth Dragon Beast’s head.
The next instant, bang! A muffled thud. Guni swung the greatsword as she descended from the sky, sweeping horizontally and using the blade to flatten three horse-sized Earth Dragon Beasts that had been clustered together into a pulp.
Green’s brick also struck precisely on one Blood Snake Beast’s head. Wait, no: one Earth Dragon Beast’s head. That head, covered in hard scales, cracked with streaks of blood, and its body toppled sideways to the ground.
A beam of holy radiance descended from the heavens. At this moment, Raisa’s appearance was utterly majestic: this mother will send you to the afterlife. Those two Earth Dragon Beasts thudded to the ground one after another.
The instant the assault on the Earth Dragon Beasts began, Gilga also turned into a streak of golden light and rushed into the villa.
With her skills, caught off guard, she could dispatch the several people inside in a breath. The guards sent to watch this place were not truly powerful experts; in fact, the real guardian here was the Blood Snake Beast, while these guards were merely for show, to declare the hot spring resort’s ownership.
As the Earth Dragon Beasts fell one after another, Ye Chui also reformed from bats into his true form, landing on the ground.
His gaze turned to the villa interior; there must surely be a scene of carnage right now, yes?
However…
“Ah—”
Gilga’s scream suddenly rang out.
Immediately after, Gilga, covered in golden light, burst out from that room.
“Who was that just now!?”
“Someone is attacking!”
“Who dares to attack us!?”
Roars of anger came from the room.
“Damn! The intelligence was wrong; there are tough customers here!” Seeing this scene, Ye Chui’s mind instinctively formed that thought.
Raisa, Debbie, Green, Jacob, Danni, and the others all rushed to Ye Chui’s side. At this moment, their thoughts were identical: there must certainly be some extraordinary expert stationed in that room, able to make Gilga scream in an instant. No ordinary powerhouse could do that!
Their hearts tensed simultaneously as they watched Gilga swiftly charge back to them. Yet this golden-haired female swordsman’s expression at the moment was indescribably flustered; her originally fair and smooth face was also tinged with a flush. This was an expression never before seen on Gilga.
“Gilga, what is wrong with you?” Debbie asked with concern, immediately pulling out a bag of gold coins, preparing to recharge for Gilga.
Gilga waved her hand, however: “I, I am fine. It is just that my spirit suffered a shock…”
“Spiritual shock?” Green hurriedly asked. “Is someone inside a spiritual magic tutor?”
Hearing Green say this, Ye Chui’s eyes lit up. He hurriedly stepped in front of the group: “Any spiritual intrusions, direct them at me!”
“No, it is not a spiritual magic tutor…” But Gilga hurriedly denied it.
As they conversed, they had all already prepared for battle, fully alert. Then… they saw several men, nearly naked with only towels wrapped around their waists, dripping wet as they rushed out from that room. They clutched knives and swords, their expressions carrying a hint of panic. From their attire, Ye Chui quickly understood why Gilga had screamed: bloody hell, they were bathing in there!!!
This was a hot spring resort, with inexhaustible waters rich in special magical effects. The guards sent to watch it would naturally not stint on such ultimate enjoyment. Setting up several large tubs in the villa’s hall for a thorough hot spring soak… it was entirely reasonable, no issue at all!
Gilga was a powerful swordswoman, but she was still a girl. Even with peerless swordsmanship, suddenly bursting into the men’s bath had dealt a massive blow to her spirit… Not just Gilga; Debbie, Raisa, Guni, and the other girls all screamed and turned their heads away, unable to look straight. “Damn, I never expected them to pull such a foul move right from the start…” Debbie muttered.
“Who are you lot? Do you not know this is the Jores family’s territory?” One towel-clad swordsman shouted loudly. He soon spotted the gruesomely dead Earth Dragon Beasts on the ground, and his expression changed. “You…”
“We are from the Anduin family!”
Ye Chui’s voice rang out. He had originally wanted to conserve energy, but now it seemed he had no choice but to step in. He used [Time Freeze] to instantly appear behind these men, then entered the [Blood Battle Intent] state. Before they could react, he swiftly felled them one after another.
These men were not originally so useless, but caught off guard, they fell victim in succession. Ye Chui forcibly resisted the urge to suck their blood, reverting to normal. Looking at the men collapsed on the ground, he could not help but sigh inwardly: why did they always encounter such ridiculous situations?
