Old Taoist Ox-Nose and Master Tang Chen had a long-standing relationship. Although Master Tang Chen knew Old Taoist Ox-Nose well, there were still some matters about him that Tang Chen was unaware of. On ordinary days, Old Taoist Ox-Nose loved to joke and didn’t seem serious. But on important matters, he never jested. Thus, Master Tang Chen trusted his words completely. Learning that the Demon Transformation Clan had left, Tang Chen breathed a sigh of relief. Afterwards, Old Taoist Ox-Nose helped Master Tang Chen handle some affairs. Once those were settled, he left with Chu Feng and Yu Ting.
After leaving the Seven Suns Mountain Range, Chu Feng asked Old Taoist Ox-Nose for a favour, to visit the Red-Clothed Holy Land. Chu Feng couldn’t stop thinking about Zhao Hong’s abduction. Someone had used Zhao Hong to threaten him, demanding that from now on, he must show his true face to the world, no longer disguise himself, and cease using aliases. The more Chu Feng thought about it, the stranger it seemed. Who would make such an odd request? He couldn’t even tell if this person was friend or foe. So, he asked Old Taoist Ox-Nose to help, hoping he could find clues at the place where Zhao Hong was taken, to uncover who this mysterious abductor was.
Along the way, Chu Feng also asked Old Taoist Ox-Nose about things he was curious about, such as the Three Dragons Soul-Locking Chain. This chain was a treasure Old Taoist Ox-Nose had left in a ruin. The ruin that Long Xiaoxiao and others had asked Chu Feng to help decipher was that very one. Though they entered the ruin, they didn’t find the chain and nearly fell victim to Master Insight. In fact, if Chu Feng hadn’t arrived in time, Long Xiaoxiao and Long Busheng would have perished in that ruin at Master Insight’s hands. Chu Feng suspected the chain wasn’t taken by someone else but retrieved by Old Taoist Ox-Nose himself. “The Three Dragons Soul-Locking Chain?” Old Taoist Ox-Nose looked at Chu Feng and said, “It’s indeed with me. Why do you ask?” As expected, Chu Feng’s guess was correct; Old Taoist Ox-Nose had taken it back. Chu Feng didn’t hide anything, recounting Long Xiaoxiao’s experiences to him.
“Here, take it.” After hearing the story, Old Taoist Ox-Nose took out an object and tossed it to Chu Feng. It was a lock, bronze in colour, exquisitely crafted. There was energy within it, though its nature was unclear. The lock was small, fist-sized, with three dragons coiled around it. Though the dragons were inanimate, they looked lifelike, as if they might come alive at any moment. It was clearly an extraordinary item. “The Three Dragons Soul-Locking Chain can only be activated by those with dragon clan blood,” Old Taoist Ox-Nose said. “The Long clan should be able to open it. Its power can benefit those with dragon clan blood, which is why that little Long clan princess wanted it. For us, it’s only worth some money, nothing more. Since that Long clan princess helped you, use this to repay the favour.” The chain’s value was immense to the Long clan, yet Old Taoist Ox-Nose gave it to Chu Feng so easily, showing his generosity towards him. “Thank you, Master,” Chu Feng said joyfully, bowing respectfully. Initially, he had only asked out of curiosity, not expecting to receive the chain. But since Old Taoist Ox-Nose gave it to him, he hoped to pass it to someone who could use it, not just Long Xiaoxiao, but perhaps Long Daozhi, who was also of the Long clan and could benefit greatly from it.
“Master, there’s one more thing I’d like your help with,” Chu Feng said, taking out a qilin egg. “Where did you get this?” Old Taoist Ox-Nose’s eyes lit up upon seeing it. Chu Feng didn’t conceal anything, explaining how he obtained the egg and the events surrounding it, as well as his concerns. He feared that the egg contained a real divine beast qilin, which he might not be able to control. “From what you’ve said, this egg seems close to hatching, which is tricky,” Old Taoist Ox-Nose said. “Let me think. There’s a place that might suppress its power and help you control it.” “Where?” Chu Feng asked. “The Long clan’s ancestral land,” Old Taoist Ox-Nose replied. “The Long clan’s ancestral land?” Chu Feng was stunned. The name alone suggested its connection to the Long clan. “The Long clan’s ancestral land is a special place with unique power. I’ve felt it before, and according to the Long clan, it’s true dragon qi. To bind a powerful beast like a qilin, you need beastly power, and true dragon qi should work. You’ll need to set up a formation, but using true dragon qi in the Long clan’s ancestral land should yield better results. It’s not guaranteed, but it’s worth a try. Since you’re planning to give the Three Dragons Soul-Locking Chain to that Long clan princess, we can make the trip. But while you can openly repay the favour, entering the ancestral land will have to be done secretly. That place is sacred to the Long clan; they’d never let outsiders in,” Old Taoist Ox-Nose said. “Alright, I’ll follow your lead, Master,” Chu Feng said excitedly. Though Old Taoist Ox-Nose often seemed unreliable, Chu Feng knew he was dependable when it mattered.
The three first went to the Red-Clothed Holy Land, but even with Old Taoist Ox-Nose’s help, they found no clues about Zhao Hong’s abductor. With no other choice, Chu Feng had to follow the mysterious person’s demands and show his true face. After the fruitless trip to the Red-Clothed Holy Land, the three headed to the Long clan. The Long clan, one of the few dominant powers in the Holy Light Galaxy, was immensely strong, with multiple Martial Venerable experts. Sneaking in was no easy task. To avoid complications, Chu Feng and Old Taoist Ox-Nose left Yu Ting to wait outside. The master and disciple infiltrated alone. The Long clan was vast, with tight security. For outsiders to enter without permission was nearly impossible. But Old Taoist Ox-Nose was no ordinary man; one of the strongest spiritists in the Holy Light Galaxy, he had many tricks, even capable of merging divine power. Under his lead, they not only entered the Long clan effortlessly but moved through its expert-filled grounds undetected, as if invisible. Thus, Chu Feng and Old Taoist Ox-Nose easily reached the Long clan’s forbidden area and saw the so-called ancestral land.
