Although the fat man was covered in flesh, when it came to escaping, his movements were unusually agile, like a monkey, as he swiftly dashed out of the inn.
“Bad news, the dead fatty is trying to flee, quick, chase him.”
A group of people reacted and swarmed out after him.
“Bloody hell, who would have thought this meatball could run so fast.” The long-browed immortal chuckled.
“He won’t get away.” Ye Qiu had observed earlier; the fat man was merely at the peak of the King realm, while the group of burly men chasing him included several at the Golden Core stage.
Sure enough, in less than half a minute, the fat man was caught and dragged back.
“Thud!”
The fat man was kicked to the ground with one foot, then the group of burly men unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks on him, beating him until his nose was broken and blood flowed freely.
“You damned fatty, not only did you fail to cure my brother, but you also tried to deceive us and run away; today, I will slaughter you.”
One burly man finished speaking and, with a “swish”, drew a knife.
“Brother, don’t be impulsive, impulsiveness is the devil; let’s talk this out properly.”
The fat man quickly begged for mercy and said, “Although I cannot cure this brother of yours, I have money; I can find the best doctor for him.”
“Besides, I’m so fat; if you hack down with one knife, blood will definitely spray out all over me, and you wouldn’t want it to splatter all over you, would you?”
“If I die, that’s fine, but if it dirties you, that would be unfortunate…”
“Shut your mouth; I’m going to chop you up right now.” The burly man finished speaking and swung the knife down towards the fat man’s head.
“Wait a moment!”
At that instant, Ye Qiu suddenly spoke up.
The burly man turned back to look at Ye Qiu: “And who are you?”
“I am a doctor; I can cure your brother.” Ye Qiu said.
The burly man sized Ye Qiu up for a moment and asked, “Are you serious?”
“You don’t believe me? How about we make a bet!” Ye Qiu said to the burly man: “If I cure your brother, you spare this fatty; if I fail to cure him, you can kill me along with him, how about that?”
The burly man hesitated for a moment, sheathed the knife, and said, “Please proceed!”
Ye Qiu walked over to the unconscious young man and squatted down.
“Brother, don’t bother treating him; this poor sod is beyond saving; you’d better slip away now, or it will be too late.” The fat man whispered softly into Ye Qiu’s ear.
“If I slip away, you will die.” Ye Qiu said.
The fat man replied, “If I die, so be it; off with the head, and it’s just a bowl-sized scar.”
Ye Qiu glanced at the fat man’s neck, piled high with layers of fat, thick and sturdy beyond measure, and chuckled, “If your head comes off, it won’t be a bowl-sized scar, but more like a washbasin-sized one.”
“Alright, you’d better get going!” The fat man said: “I am a divine healer; I’ve already examined him; the poison is too deep, and he’s beyond help.”
Ye Qiu ignored the fat man any longer, took out his golden needles, and with a few swift pricks, inserted them into the young man’s leg.
Immediately after, with a flick of his fingers.
The golden needles hummed and vibrated.
Soon, strands of black blood flowed out along the golden needles; in less than three minutes, the young man’s skin returned to its normal state, and he woke up.
“Cured so quickly?”
The fat man looked utterly bewildered, while the surrounding burly men were both shocked and delighted, all thanking Ye Qiu profusely.
In truth, how could they know that the poison had not yet penetrated the young man’s heart meridians; as for the poison in his leg, it was a trivial matter for Ye Qiu.
Although nearly everyone in the cultivation world possessed cultivation bases, they were not versed in everything.

The long-browed immortal sighed and said, “You little brat, I’m afraid we’ll have to find another place to stay; I just asked the waiter, and this inn has been booked out by someone.”
“Then let’s find another place to stay!” Ye Qiu finished speaking and prepared to leave.
The fat man quickly blocked Ye Qiu’s path and asked, “Brothers, are you looking for a room?”
“To be honest, I am the one who booked this entire inn.”
“Don’t go; stay here!”
“In short, pick any room in this inn you like, stay as long as you want, order whatever you fancy from the waiter; all expenses are on me!”
The long-browed immortal loved nothing more than a bargain, and with no desire to walk further, upon hearing these words, he beamed with delight and said, “Fatty brother, since we have crossed paths, it must be fate; since you are so generous, we won’t stand on ceremony with you.”
“Don’t stand on ceremony at all; come, I’ll take you to your rooms.” The fat man finished speaking and led Ye Qiu and the long-browed immortal upstairs.

With each step the fat man took, the stairs trembled violently, as if a heavy cauldron had been dropped upon them.
Ye Qiu and the long-browed immortal waited at the bottom of the stairs until the fat man had ascended, before the two of them went up.
The fat man was exceedingly generous and gave the inn’s best and largest room to Ye Qiu and the long-browed immortal.
The fat man said, “This room was just cleaned; I had originally planned to take it for myself, but since you saved my life, I give it to you.”
Only then did Ye Qiu ask the fat man, “Do you truly know medicine?”
“Yes.” The fat man nodded affirmatively and said, “However, I specialise in treating spirit beasts.”
Bloody hell, so this dead fatty was a veterinarian?
Ye Qiu and the long-browed immortal exchanged glances.
“Since you excel at treating spirit beasts, why attempt to treat humans?” Ye Qiu asked curiously.
The fat man replied, “Brother, you wouldn’t know, but my family has practised medicine for generations, specialising in spirit beasts; from a young age, I followed my father in learning, mainly breeding spirit beasts and, well, castrating them.”
“For over twenty years, dealing with spirit beasts day in and day out, I grew utterly fed up; I no longer wanted to treat spirit beasts; I wanted to treat humans.”
“But unexpectedly, my father refused outright and said I was simply not cut out to be a doctor.”
Ye Qiu thought to himself, your father was spot on; if you practised medicine, who knows how many people you would harm.
The fat man continued, “In a fit of anger, I secretly ran away from home.”
“Along the way, I treated quite a few people; today, upon arriving here, I encountered that young man outside the inn; in my haste to save him, I didn’t think twice and had his brothers carry him inside.”
“Who knew the poison was so deep that I couldn’t cure it; as for what happened afterwards, you both saw it.”
It wasn’t that he couldn’t cure it; it was that his medical skills were inadequate.
Inadequate skills were one thing, but seeking trouble into the bargain; what an oddity.
Still, this fat man’s heart was not in the wrong place.
Ye Qiu could not help but smile wryly and asked the fat man, “What is your name?”
The fat man chuckled and said, “This humble one is surnamed Lin, given name Da Niao.”
Lin Da Niao?
At once, the long-browed immortal’s eyes fixed upon a certain spot on Lin Da Niao’s body, winking slyly as he asked, “How big is it?”
