She had set off ahead not only with a large amount of daily necessities but also with the royal cleaning and maintenance team, wanting to get the house into perfect condition before Charlie wade arrived, then withdraw all the staff so as not to disturb him.
When Charlie wade and the three women disembarked, they again bypassed Northern European customs and, escorted by royal personnel, drove straight north out of Osu City towards the polar region.
March in Northern Europe was already growing warmer. Even though the car was heading north and the temperature remained cold, it was not harsh.
The days were now much longer than the last time they came.
On the previous visit, the sky would start darkening shortly after noon, but this time the convoy drove all the way until four in the afternoon, and when they reached Helena’s royal holiday villa, it was still light.
Charlie wade began to feel a faint worry. In this weather, even if the aurora could still be seen, there probably would not be much of it.
Lin Wan’er seemed to sense his concern and whispered beside him, “Young Master need not worry. If we encounter a large aurora belt, it can stretch for thousands of kilometres. We only need to catch up with one section of it to verify our earlier guesses.”
Charlie wade nodded and said, “Since we are here, we will make the best of it. We’ll see tonight. It should get dark soon.”
The convoy reached the holiday villa halfway up the mountain before nightfall. Following Helena’s instructions, the royal staff escorted the four to the villa gate, then respectfully said, “Mr Wade, Her Majesty the Empress has ordered that none of us may enter. Please go in by yourselves.”
Seeing it was Helena’s arrangement, Charlie wade gave a slight nod.
The four got out of the car, and the convoy immediately reversed and headed back down the mountain without delay.
Helena received the report from her subordinates and came straight out of the villa to greet them.
Today’s Helena was wrapped in a pure white knee-length fur robe. Her fair calves were completely exposed to the crisp, cold air.
She wore short white snow boots with integrated fur and came stepping through the snow, the thick accumulation crunching pleasantly under her feet.
Because her staff had already reported, she was not surprised to see Charlie wade arriving with three beautiful women. She quickly recognised the prettiest girl as the one who had come with Charlie wade last time.
The other two women were naturally very beautiful too and both carried a distinctly Eastern charm, though Helena sensed that Grace Lowes and Song Rife had a faint air of cold aloofness that made them hard to approach.
Grace Lowes and Song Rife watched this stunningly beautiful empress running towards them and, in their shock, could not help exchanging a glance.
As women themselves, they could see the irrepressible joy in Helena’s expression, almost completely unguarded, like a young girl in the first flush of love.
They both followed international affairs to some extent and knew that this was the Northern European empress who had been extremely active and highly praised on the world stage recently. Seeing the empress of Northern Europe rushing towards Charlie wade with such open adoration, like a lovesick teenager, left them both speechless with astonishment.
On her own soil, in her own palace, Helena had no intention of observing royal protocol. She came happily to Charlie wade, still catching her breath, looked at him, and said softly, “Mr Wade, you must be exhausted from the long journey!”
Song Rife thought to herself, “Well now, four of us arrived, but in the eyes of the Northern European empress, it seems there is only Mr Wade. The rest of us might as well be air…”
Helena in her white robe, with her graceful figure, golden long hair, sapphire-blue eyes, and the surrounding snow-covered landscape, left Charlie wade momentarily stunned. In this fairytale-like Northern European setting, Helena blended perfectly with her surroundings, as dazzling as a princess who had stepped straight out of a storybook.
However, he quickly regained his composure and smiled, “Helena, you are too polite. We have come to trouble you and even made you prepare everything in advance. It is I who should thank you for your hard work.”
Helena smiled sweetly and said, “Mr Wade, there is no need for such formality between us. As long as I am here, Northern Europe is your second home. Coming here is just like returning home. This is your home.”
At those words, the three women around them were all stunned.
Good heavens, the empress of Northern Europe was this direct and bold? They had only just met, and she was already staking her claim?
