As the demonic turtle transformed into a human-shaped girl and appeared before Ye Chong and Boslily, the magical beasts within the Beast Garden world became even more agitated. Most of them possessed considerable intelligence, yet this intelligence did not allow them to accurately comprehend the current situation. Instead, it made them more terrifying, more enraged.
Over countless years, the herd of magical beasts raised on the turtle’s back had learned to coexist peacefully. They divided territories among themselves and rarely waged war. But at this moment, the balance of power in the Beast Garden was completely shattered, and the beasts fell into utter madness and chaos.
Upon hearing Ye Chong’s command, Dragon Treasure immediately agreed with a cheerful cry. It waddled away on its short little legs, its chubby baby body once again transforming into a majestic, mountain-like little giant dragon.
“Roar!” The dragon’s roar echoed through the sky above the Beast Garden, calming the restless herd of magical beasts.
In the present world, magical beasts had nearly gone almost extinct. To the people of this world, they represented an extremely valuable combat resource. Commanding magical beasts in battle could greatly enhance an army’s strength. Although Ye Chong planned to destroy the Beast Garden, he was not so deranged as to slaughter every beast inside. This was part of his plan.
The Beast Garden must be destroyed, but he would prepare a brand new home for the beasts that lived here. He would create a completely new Beast Garden under his sole control!
Although the Joreis family belonged to the Star Empire, not all the magical beasts they produced were handed over to the empire for its use. Their magical beast trade spanned the entire continent, the result of an ancient agreement between the family’s ancestors and the imperial clan.
Ye Chong wanted to build a new Beast Garden naturally to strengthen the Star Empire. Of course, he held no particularly deep affection for the nation. However, since Jacob was about to become emperor, the Star Empire was naturally his territory now. He had to do something for his own domain.
After Dragon Treasure left, Ye Chong and Boslily stood side by side, facing the turtle-shell girl who was glaring at them in fury. The girl still looked shy and adorable, yet she also carried a ferocious, hellish menace. She slowly walked towards them once more. Her steps were slow, yet somehow seemed to reach extreme speed. Turtle-Speed Kill.
“Watch out!” Ye Chong swiftly waved his hand and pushed Boslily aside. His right eye had already changed into the Kaleidoscopic Sharingan.
Of course, this Sharingan was nothing like the Uchiha bloodline from Naruto. It was a form of magic.
When Ye Chong comprehended Obito, he actually unlocked two spells. One was the super spatial spell: Kamui Oblivion. The other was the advanced life-support spell: Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope greatly enhanced Ye Chong’s field of vision. In this state, he could even see his own storage space and perceive the essence of space itself. It was a spell designed specifically to assist Kamui Oblivion.
Unlike the manga, Ye Chong could use Kamui Oblivion even without transforming his eye. They were two independent spells. But with this support spell active, his Kamui Oblivion became far more powerful.
The turtle-shell girl’s Turtle-Speed Kill was clearly a spatial-type attack. The instant her body moved, it fused with space itself. Ordinary people could not track her deceptively fast silhouette at all. Yet Kaleidoscope allowed him to do so.
Ye Chong pushed Boslily away because he had detected the girl’s attack pattern. However, although he managed to save Boslily, the next instant his chest was still pierced by the turtle-shell girl. Her Turtle-Speed Kill was simply too fast. After passing through Ye Chong’s body once more, the girl finally seemed to sense something. Her brows furrowed slightly. “A very advanced spatial magic…”
Ye Chong’s hands instantly transformed into the arms of the Green Goliath. One hand seized her arm, the other rested on her shoulder. Two wormholes appeared above his head, from which emerged two modified Gatling heavy machine guns. “Rat-tat-tat-tat!” A barrage of fire.
Boslily also condensed a powerful spell. As she raised both hands high, an illusory iceberg rose from her body, towering into the clouds. Then the iceberg began to shatter. Rolling snow and massive chunks of broken ice crashed down from the sky like thunder, like a stampeding herd, smashing towards the girl’s seemingly delicate back. Advanced ice spell: Iceberg Avalanche.
Ye Chong and Boslily’s attacks landed fully on the girl.
Yet in the next moment, pale green ripples spread from her body. Those ripples faintly formed an illusory turtle shell possessing extreme defensive power. With a bang, the iceberg behind her exploded, snowflakes scattered, and Ye Chong’s gripping hands were forcibly repelled. He had no choice but to use Kamui Oblivion to transfer his body elsewhere.
Mysterious green turtle-shell patterns covered the area around the girl’s body. That was Turtle-Shell Kill, the absolute defence from the Chaos Giant Turtle.
“Even the God of Gods would need two fingers to break my Turtle-Shell Kill defence. You cannot harm me.” She spoke coldly.
Ye Chong immediately flung a guided magic missile at her. Boom!
Smoke and dust filled the air. As expected, the explosion did not affect the girl in the slightest. A contemptuous look on her face, she stepped forward, continuing towards Ye Chong. Between the two, she clearly sensed the greater threat from him and wanted to eliminate him first.
As for Ye Chong’s god-like spell Kamui Oblivion, no matter how powerful or unsolvable, it was still spatial magic. She was the demonic turtle, the Chaos Giant Turtle. Her essential attribute was space. What she possessed was something far stronger than spatial magic: Chaos Magic!
She raised her bare little foot. She was still ten metres away from Ye Chong, but when her foot came down, she was already before him. Her right hand ignited with red flames. Those were her blood flames, ignited from her own blood, capable of incinerating everything in existence, even space itself!
Yet in the next instant, the girl’s body stiffened. A layer of frost rapidly spread upward from her feet, quickly freezing her in ice. Even the blood flames in her hand seemed to turn to ice.
Boslily’s super ice spell: Ice Domain!
When fighting the Beast Spirit God in the secret realm, Boslily had used this spell before. It was a spell only Saint-tier mages could cast. Of course, Boslily had not yet reached Saint tier. According to Ye Chong’s judgement, she was at half-step Saint. Controlling this spell placed enormous strain on her, but within her domain, she became one with the ice. Everything froze.
Transformed into an ice statue, Boslily quickly said to Ye Chong, “Hurry, I cannot hold it much longer!”
Ye Chong knew what she meant.
His finger slid across the iPad grimoire. The grimoire merged into his body. Electronic-like patterns instantly covered him. God Guardian Armour. He leapt into the air, right fist clenched, and punched downward.
Today was Saturday. When Boslily proposed the duel in three days, she had calculated that this would be the day Ye Chong could use the power of the One-Punch Heroic Spirit.
A mighty fist wind descended from above, striking the girl.
Before the fist wind even landed on the frozen girl, cracks already appeared in the ice covering her. Her absolute defence Turtle-Shell Kill still surrounded her body. The ice might freeze her, but it could not freeze her absolute defence. The ice on her pretty face had already shattered, revealing a faint cold smile.
The reason Turtle-Shell Kill contained the word “kill” was that the skill did not merely provide absolute defence. It also perfectly reflected one hundred percent of any attack that landed on her.
A sinister smile spread across her small face. Boslily had expended massive magical power to cast the spell and create an opening for Ye Chong’s punch, yet it was doomed to have no effect.
Her calm, contemptuous smile turned to blank shock, then terror, the instant the fist wind fully struck.
Boom!
Her Turtle-Shell Kill shattered.
Turtle-Shell Kill could achieve absolute defence and reflect all attacks, unless the attack exceeded the limits of absolute defence.
That sounded idiotic, but it was not. What kind of attack could surpass absolute defence? Even the God of Gods could not casually extend one finger to break her defence; two fingers were required. That would have to be an attack touching the purest law of destruction. Ye Chong and Boslily were powerful, but in the girl’s thousands of years of turtle life, their strength was insignificant. How could Ye Chong possibly possess such pure destructive power?
Yet he truly did.
Although Ye Chong had now developed many bizarre spells, his ultimate trump card remained the One-Punch Heroic Spirit that had accompanied him since Stan Town. Summoning Teacher Saitama and gaining his power. That power touched the law itself, the law of “strongest”. An utterly unreasonable strongest punch. As long as the punch was thrown, it would gravely wound any obstacle before it.
Even a tiny ant throwing Saitama’s punch could fell an elephant. In terms of size, Ye Chong compared to the demonic turtle was no better than an ant to an elephant. Yet even though he had only unlocked one-seventh of Teacher Saitama’s power, he had touched just a trace of that strongest law, and it was enough!
The girl completely broke free from Boslily’s Ice Domain. Ice shattered, but it was too late. Her Turtle-Shell Kill was utterly destroyed. The immense fist wind struck her body. The spot she trembled at instantly caved inward. The Beast Garden existed on the demonic turtle’s back. The girl’s Turtle-Shell Kill was in fact a projection of the shell on the turtle’s back. By breaking Turtle-Shell Kill, Ye Chong had effectively destroyed the demonic turtle’s shell.
Splat!
Scorching turtle blood gushed from the breach like a volcanic eruption of magma. The sky of the Beast Garden turned blood-red. This world was on the verge of collapse. Under Ye Chong’s punch, the demonic turtle suffered backlash comparable to when she once attempted dragon transformation. Boslily quickly returned to Ye Chong’s side, looking with some worry at the terrifying blood cave still spurting blood. Frowning, she said, “She is completely enraged now. What do we do next?”
Though proud and powerful, facing a grievously wounded ninth-rank magical beast still made her heart uneasy. The only reason she was not overwhelmed by fear was that Ye Chong seemed to have another card up his sleeve. When they had shared that Bone-Winged Beast earlier, Ye Chong mentioned he had a way to deal with this demonic turtle, but Boslily never knew what it was.
“I am going to have a talk with her.” Ye Chong said with inexplicable confidence.
He wanted to destroy the Beast Garden and deal with the Beast God, but upon discovering the Beast God was an old acquaintance of Dragon Treasure, other ideas formed in his mind. If possible, he hoped the Beast God would serve him. It was naturally an extremely arrogant thought, but there was no harm in thinking it. The spell he had prepared specifically for the Beast God might just resolve the current situation perfectly.
Hearing Ye Chong say he wanted to negotiate with the berserk, furious demonic turtle, Boslily looked at him in surprise, not understanding what he meant.
The spraying turtle blood nearly filled half the sky. Within that pillar of blood slowly condensed an enraged girl’s face. “Even the God of Gods has never wounded me this gravely, but you forget where we are. In this space, I am the ruler. You injured me. I have never bled so much. You will pay the price for your actions. This is Turtle-Blood Kill, an attack that would make even the God of Gods frown!”
This mighty attack could make the God of Gods frown. That was not understatement; it highlighted the attack’s terror. She turned her own turtle blood into power, burning chaos, incinerating space. Ye Chong had opened a wound on the demonic turtle, causing blood to erupt like a volcano, so the turtle seized the chance to unleash Turtle-Blood Kill. The sky-filling turtle blood became red flames. Those red flames condensed into giant dragons that roared as they charged downward at Ye Chong.
Wherever the red dragons passed, space shattered, everything returned to chaos.
Boslily sensed enormous threat. She rapidly cast several powerful ice spells around herself. The demonic turtle was now fighting desperately. She was not sure she could withstand such an attack. A trace of despair flashed through her mind as she looked at Ye Chong. “Hey, what are you waiting for? Use your move already!”
Yet the Ye Chong in her vision was staring dumbfounded at the blood dragons dancing across the sky, repeatedly exclaiming, “Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit…”
Boslily: “…”
The blood dragons swept across, instantly engulfing Ye Chong and Boslily.
Then everything fell silent. All was incinerated to nothing.
The blood colour completely swallowed the figures of Ye Chong and Boslily, turning into an ocean of turtle blood. That blood writhed constantly, rapidly flowing back into the demonic turtle’s wound. The girl’s figure reappeared at one side. She looked somewhat weakened, gazing with heartache at the blood returning to her wound while muttering, “Turtle-Blood Kill consumes vital essence. One use costs the equivalent of a hundred periods. Those two hateful mages! I must quickly recover the remaining blood… Hmph, fortunately I killed those two humans, and even Dragon Treasure has vanished. It seems Dragon Treasure has not fully revived and relied on that male mage to exist.”
As she spoke to herself thus, quickly gathering her blood, the next moment the blood flowing back into her wound suddenly, under some mysterious force, spurted outward once more with a boom. The turtle-shell girl looked shocked. At the same time, she felt a certain power beginning to envelop her. That was… the most terrifying and powerful of all magic: time magic!
The girl let out a low roar, using her chaos power to forcibly escape the grasp of the time magic.
Something occurred to her. She looked toward where Ye Chong and Boslily had stood.
The two people who should have been melted by turtle blood reappeared there. Dragon Treasure, far away calming the beasts, also reappeared.
Time… reversed?
Boslily shook her head in confusion, feeling her memories grow muddled. She looked at Ye Chong beside her.
The Ye Chong who had just been shouting “holy shit” was now calm again. He smiled faintly at Boslily. “Looks like my move worked.”
“This is…”
“A time magic that forcibly restores time to the moment just before we were killed.”
“…It can even do that?”
“Not just that.” Ye Chong continued smiling. From the demonic turtle’s massive wound, countless streams of blood continued gushing out, forming countless blood dragons in the air once more, preparing to dive at Ye Chong and Boslily again. Ye Chong went on, “This spell traps us all in a constantly repeating time loop. Everything that just happened will keep repeating…”
Although the turtle-shell girl had used chaos magic to temporarily escape Ye Chong’s time loop with her consciousness, her body remained trapped within the loop. That was the strength of this spell. It was not the sealing magic Time Gap that could loop infinitely using time itself. It was a spell that consumed magical power, so each loop drained Ye Chong’s mana.
But in exchange, a portion of the turtle blood used to kill Ye Chong and Boslily would also vanish with each loop.
Ye Chong’s mana was sufficient to sustain several reversals. Mana could be recovered once depleted, but the demonic turtle’s lost blood was truly gone forever.
This was the spell Ye Chong used only when an enemy unleashed a desperate attack. He had planned to force the demonic turtle into desperation, then use this bug-level spell to bleed her to death.
This spell was the one Ye Chong gained from comprehending Doctor Strange. Its name was advanced time spell: Dormammu’s Depression.
Ye Chong looked up at the girl in the sky and shouted with a smile, “Young lady, I would like to negotiate terms with you.”
