The so-called ancestral decree was nothing more than a single drop of true blood from a Nascent Soul cultivator.
This was remarkably similar to the sealing talismans Mo Fan had once crafted. In the past, he definitely would not have recognised what this supposed decree truly was.
But now, with his cultivation having reached the King realm and his divine sense vast and powerful, he almost instantly saw through the very essence of the figure in the painting.
If the opponent had genuinely been a peak Core Formation cultivator, Mo Fan might still have felt a trace of caution.
Yet it was merely a manifestation of one drop of true blood, so naturally he had nothing to fear.
A single drop of blood, no matter what. How strong could it possibly be?
Though the aura emitted by the painted figure was already comparable to that of a peak Core Formation cultivator and appeared terrifying, by the same token its consumption would certainly be enormous.
Therefore, Mo Fan concluded that this so-called decree could only unleash one strike, nothing more.
“Die!”
High in the sky, the figure that had stepped out from the painting burst with golden light, its gaze like lightning. Somehow it employed a mystical technique or divine ability that caused its entire right arm to swell to monstrous size, blotting out the sun.
The sheer might of this palm strike was enough to startle even Bai Tian Tian into wide-eyed shock, yet Mo Fan felt no fear at all. Instead, he laughed loudly and charged straight forward.
“This king has even slain a Demon Ancestor. Why would I fear a mere drop of your true blood?”
Mo Fan grinned ferociously. His whole body instantly transformed into a bolt of lightning.
Divine Ability: Dragon Aura Body Protection!
Divine Ability: Wind-Thunder Purple Lightning!
In that instant, Mo Fan’s entire frame became enveloped in golden dragon aura. The Astonishing Thunder War Spear in his hand pierced straight through the heaven-covering giant palm, and in the blink of an eye he appeared before the painted figure.
“Die!”
As Mo Fan thrust his spear, thunder light flashed brilliantly and brutally pierced right through the figure’s forehead.
Boom!
The next moment, endless thunder raged wildly. The painted figure instantly shattered into pieces and exploded.
At the same instant the figure exploded, the blank scroll floating in the sky began to burn, quickly turning to ashes that scattered with the wind.
“This…”
The Second Elder was utterly stunned. He had never imagined the situation would turn out like this.
The ancestral decree had been the trump card bestowed upon him by the ancestor when he left Three Saints Island. It was the strongest weapon in his possession.
Yet even the ancestral decree had been destroyed in a single exchange by that Demon King!
This truly filled him with horror.
Without almost any thought, he immediately abandoned Bai Tian Tian, ignited his essence blood, transformed into a streak of blood light, and fled into the distance.
From the moment the ancestral decree was broken, he understood one thing clearly: this demon was ferocious beyond measure, far beyond what he could oppose. This mission was essentially a failure.
Since that was the case, he naturally would not foolishly throw his life away fighting to the death. Instead, he would do everything possible to escape, return alive, and report everything that had happened here to the ancestor.
“Hey! Running away already?”
“You really have no sense of honour. You’re just abandoning your two brothers like that!”
Mo Fan’s mocking voice rang out, igniting fury in the Second Elder’s heart. Though deeply unwilling, he still fled in silence without a word.
As for the Fourth Elder and Seventh Elder, there was nothing he could do for them now. They would have to rely on their own luck.
The path of immortal cultivation had always been cruel. To stay alive, one could abandon even parents or wife and daughters, let alone mere brotherly bonds.
As long as one could survive, everything sacrificed could be regained later.
That is the essence of cultivating immortality.
Mo Fan watched the Second Elder flee silently while burning his essence blood, yet he remained unhurried and did not immediately give chase. Instead, he murmured to himself and began counting down.
“Three!”
“Two!”
“One!”
“Pfft!”
The instant the word “one” left Mo Fan’s mouth, the Second Elder fleeing across the horizon suddenly sprayed blood into the air.
A massive sickle ruthlessly severed one of his arms, causing him to scream in agony and instantly fall out of his blood-escape state.
“Without my great king’s permission, you’re not allowed to escape!”
Hei Yi’s slightly playful voice sounded beside the Second Elder. She spoke leisurely, “If you dare try escaping again, next time it won’t be your arm that flies off, but your head!”
The Second Elder’s scalp instantly went numb. His vast divine sense swept the surroundings, yet he could not detect the hidden person’s figure at all.
But very quickly his expression hardened as he looked down at his feet.
“Found you!”
The Second Elder snorted coldly and prepared to strike, only for a golden rope to fly from the distance and bind him tightly.
“Get away from me!”
The Second Elder flew into a shocked and furious rage, struggling desperately, yet no matter how he tried he could not break free from the golden rope’s restraints.
“Hm?”
Watching from afar, Mo Fan also looked astonished.
This golden rope was none other than the Golden Binding Rope he carried, obtained long ago from the bandit rat general. Ever since, he had simply used it as a belt around his waist.
He had always known the rope was extremely tough, but he had considered it merely an ordinary demon weapon, so after breaking through to the late Demon General stage he rarely used the treasure again.
Yet the scene before him left even him surprised.
“This tattered rope is actually this powerful?”
Mo Fan stared wide-eyed. He had not expected that even a late Core Formation cultivator would be unable to escape the Golden Rope’s binding. It was truly beyond his expectations.
“It seems I’ll have to find some time later to study this thing properly!” Mo Fan thought to himself.
“Damn it, release me at once!”
“I am the Second Elder of the Wang family of Three Saints Island! If you attack me, you are declaring war on the entire Wang family. When the time comes, our ancestor will…”
Slap!
Unable to break free from the Golden Rope, the King-realm Second Elder immediately became livid, but before he could finish his threat, Mo Fan slapped him across the face.
“Your Wang family is nothing!”
“You only have one Nascent Soul stage cultivator, that’s all. If your so-called arrogant Ancestor Wang was really that powerful, why doesn’t he come himself?”
“You idiots have been sold out by your own ancestor and you still don’t realise it, even thinking it an honour!”
Mo Fan spoke and slapped him again, directly swelling half the elder’s face red and frightening him into silence.
He, the dignified Second Elder of the Wang family, a late Core Formation cultivator, when had he ever suffered such rude treatment?
Thinking of this, an inexplicable feeling of grievance welled up inside him.
“Demon, if you want to kill me then kill me. If I so much as frown, I am not worthy of the surname Wang!” the Wang family Second Elder gnashed his teeth and glared at Mo Fan.
Slap!
Yet the response was another resounding slap that left his hair dishevelled.
“Whether you’re surnamed Wang or not is none of this king’s bloody business!”
Mo Fan rolled his eyes, then sneered coldly, “Rest assured, this king will not let you die so easily!”
“Hei Yi, bring him back to the mountain peak!”
“Got it!”
Hei Yi’s voice sounded beside the Second Elder. Immediately after, her figure in white suddenly appeared behind him, grabbed the old fellow, and flew towards the summit of Black Wind Mountain.
“You’re not planning to kill them?”
Bai Tian Tian flew over at this point, looking at Mo Fan with some surprise.
“Exactly. Considering what they did to you back then, simply killing them would be letting them off far too lightly!”
“Besides, these fellows are rare human powerhouses. If used properly, they are far more valuable alive than dead!”
Mo Fan grinned, already thinking of a method far better than just killing these people.
