Martial Champion Chapter 4469 - LiddRead

Martial Champion Chapter 4469

Chu Feng firmly believed one truth: danger and opportunity coexist.

That was why he never feared peril. He had risen step by step from a lower realm where Martial Emperor was nothing but legend, until today he could roam freely in a galactic river teeming with countless Venerables and innumerable Supreme experts. He had survived countless deadly zones.

Only by walking through those dangers had he earned his repeated breakthroughs and growth.

Yet though bold, Chu Feng was never reckless.

Talent was part of his success, courage another, but the most crucial factor was always his reason.

To be safe, he first concealed himself with a technique.

Even so, when he re-entered the Daylight Star River he remained extremely cautious.

His goal was clear. Cautious he might be, but he did not hesitate. Upon reaching the undercurrent he swallowed the pill the Patriarch of the Yu Heavenly Clan had given him earlier.

The pill dissolved, and a strange power surged through his body.

Then he smoothly entered the undercurrent.

Everything changed the moment he did. The force that had blocked his perception was gone.

Now Chu Feng could clearly sense the state of these skeletons.

Within the undercurrent, the mountain-like piles of bones had even had their origin energy completely drained. They were dead beyond dead.

What unsettled Chu Feng most was that they had not died long ago.

By his estimation, no more than three days had passed.

His heart was pounding. If the killer had already left, that would be fortunate. If the killer was still here, Chu Feng would likely face disaster.

But having come this far, he could not return empty-handed.

So he did not flee. Instead, he stayed and prepared to cultivate.

“The natural energy here is indeed dense, yet… it contains no martial comprehension.”

“Has something changed?”

After attempting to cultivate, however, Chu Feng felt disappointed.

Though the natural energy was abundant, it could not raise his cultivation in a short time. This clearly did not match the Patriarch’s description.

Unwilling to give up, Chu Feng carefully probed, seeking the truth.

Sure enough, he found the clue.

Martial comprehension was still hidden within the undercurrent.

But Chu Feng could not absorb it.

It was flowing, as if controlled, streaming towards a specific spot deeper in the undercurrent.

Something was absorbing the most refined power within the undercurrent.

Chu Feng followed the flow.

Suddenly he was blocked.

Nothing was visible ahead, yet an invisible wall stopped him.

A formation, an extremely powerful formation.

Because it needed to draw power from the undercurrent, however, the formation had flaws.

Chu Feng was confident he could break it.

But what lay inside the formation was unknown.

If it was a natural phenomenon, that would be fine. If it was man-made, then the culprit who slaughtered the ancient race was very likely inside.

If Chu Feng encountered that being, the consequences were obvious.

“Let’s gamble.”

In the end, Chu Feng decided to take the risk.

He craved power too much.

He acted at once, beginning to lay down a breaking formation.

Though he said “gamble”, he had already analysed the situation.

A being capable of exterminating so many members of that ancient race had to be terrifyingly strong.

If it was far away and had not noticed him, that was plausible.

But he was now extremely close to whatever lay within the formation.

Logically, such a being should have detected him long ago.

Since there had been no reaction, the culprit was probably not inside.

Chu Feng was gambling, and it seemed he had won.

After breaking the formation, he saw everything.

Inside was a bead the size of a fist. It looked like liquid yet spun rapidly.

Within the formation, the undercurrent’s power had become visible.

Chu Feng could see the most refined energy flowing into the bead.

The bead already contained extremely dense natural energy, and martial comprehension as well.

Clearly, the undercurrent had not weakened. All its power had simply been absorbed into this bead.

If Chu Feng could claim this bead, his cultivation would definitely advance.

“You really don’t fear death, do you?”

Yet just as Chu Feng reached for the bead, an ancient voice exploded from its direction.

Hearing that voice, Chu Feng’s heart clenched.

“Damn it, I lost the gamble.”

He inwardly cursed, but he did not flee.

He knew escape was impossible.

“Senior, this junior came here with no ill intent.”

Chu Feng hurriedly bowed.

“I know you mean no harm, but your courage is impressive.”

“To think you dared return after seeing that mountain of corpses.”

“It seems you crave power greatly. A martial cultivator who hungers for strength is worthy of respect.”

“Unfortunately, you should never have seen my master and disciple.”

“Since you have seen us, I can only send you on your way.”

As he spoke, cold light flashed in the old man’s eyes.

Boom!

Instantly, the water in the undercurrent boiled.

At the same time, an invisible force locked onto Chu Feng.

The moment he felt that power, Chu Feng felt as though he had fallen into endless hell.

His life was no longer his own; it belonged to the other party.

This person was terrifyingly strong, far beyond Chu Feng’s ability to gauge.

Yet Chu Feng knew that with a single thought, this man could reduce him to ashes.

“Am I going to die here?”

Chu Feng truly believed his life was over.

“This feeling?”

Suddenly, however, his expression shifted.

In a bizarre turn, the terrifying force that had bound him vanished completely!
