Feeling a surge of anger, Charlie wade immediately said to the people beside him, “Let’s get back in the car.”
The others looked baffled.
A moment ago Charlie wade had wanted to avoid trouble and just walk, so why was he suddenly heading back to the car?
Lin Wan’er was the first to understand. She turned to him with a smile and asked, “Young Master, are you planning to teach them a lesson?”
Charlie wade nodded. “They need to be publicly humiliated in front of the whole world, so everyone can see what these hypocrites are really like.”
Lin Wan’er reminded him, “Young Master, lots of people are filming, and quite a few are live-streaming. The entire world might be watching. You have to be careful.”
Charlie wade nodded and smiled. “Of course, that’s exactly why I want everyone back in the car first. I have my own way to deal with them.”
Including Helena, all four women felt angry and disgusted by these extreme environmentalists. If they could really be taught a lesson and disgraced in front of everyone, it would be doing heaven’s work.
So they immediately returned to the car. By now Helena’s phone had received a push notification from a Nordic news app. The main highway to the capital’s biggest airport was blocked, thousands of passengers were stranded. The incident was serious, and both media and public attention were high.
Helena also realised that what usually seemed like routine environmental protests felt utterly absurd once you experienced them firsthand.
Northern Europe was already one of the most environmentally conscious regions in the world, with a huge focus on clean energy, yet these extremists still managed to gain a foothold.
The crucial point was that ordinary people did not dare oppose them directly. They only dared to reason with them.
But when someone who genuinely reasons meets someone who only pretends to reason, the genuine one can never win.
Take the Tesla owner earlier. He was a typical member of the Nordic elite. He drove an electric car, dressed and spoke like a perfect gentleman, argued with facts, even quoted data.
Yet a reasonable gentleman can never beat an unreasonable thug.
For one thing, the reasonable gentleman is too embarrassed to lie. That alone means he can never prevail.
Feeling a little ashamed, Helena said to Charlie wade, “I’m sorry, Mr Wade. Europe really has become somewhat sick these past few years. I will have a serious talk with cabinet members about this and push through legislation as quickly as possible to ban extreme environmentalists from protesting in ways that affect other people.”
Charlie wade replied earnestly, “Europe’s decline is clear from the fact that these absurd things keep happening. People and countries keep doing utterly impractical things and are far too easily hijacked by so-called environmentalists. I hear Germany spent three billion euros building a power plant only to spend another three hundred million tearing it down after six years. Your country must not follow their example.”
Helena said helplessly, “European politicians are afraid to offend these groups because they fear losing votes. Whether it’s three billion or three hundred billion euros, they don’t care, because the money comes from taxpayers anyway. The taxpayers pay, the taxpayers want it demolished, and the politicians’ attitude boils down to one sentence: as long as they’re happy, that’s fine.”
Charlie wade nodded, his expression grave. “We can’t control what politicians think, but today these people must be taught a lesson.”
Helena offered, “I’ll ring the relevant authorities and ask them to send police to clear the protesters as soon as possible.”
As the host country’s representative, Helena already felt she had lost face in front of Charlie wade because of this incident. If Charlie wade had to step in himself, she would lose even more face.
