On top of that, Helena had the authority to make recommendations to government departments, and those departments naturally dared not ignore her.
Since Her Majesty the Queen had ordered a full and rigorous investigation of these environmental activists, the Nordic police immediately threw themselves into the task with full commitment.
The case was already attracting massive online attention, so as soon as the Nordic media learned that their own police had taken action, they rushed to the relevant police stations for interviews. Following Helena’s guidance, the police chief told the press: “Her Majesty the Queen is paying very close attention to this incident. She believes it has seriously disrupted the normal lives of Nordic citizens and violated their lawful rights. Therefore, she has instructed us to investigate thoroughly to the end. We will also keep the public updated in real time on our progress.”
The moment this news broke, it sent shockwaves across Europe.
No one had expected that the young, beautiful, and widely respected Nordic Queen would take notice of this affair, and moreover adopt such a tough stance, demanding the Nordic police pursue it to the very end. Many people now looked forward with eager anticipation to what would happen next.
While Charlie wade’s plane was flying over the Atlantic, the Nordic police had already obtained a series of explosive confessions.
Using Park Soo-hyun as the breakthrough point, they successively cracked a number of young members who had earned little money, were timid, and whose psychological defences collapsed easily.
Thus, the organisation’s structure and its web of financial interests were clearly mapped out.
Park Soo-hyun himself did not know the full picture, but the police investigation revealed that virtually every protest the organisation had staged in recent years had been funded by sponsors. When the protest targeted a particular industry, a rival industry was almost always stirring the waters behind the scenes. When it targeted a specific company, a competitor was invariably providing covert support.
These competitors would even hand over environmental dirt on the target companies, enabling precise, lethal attacks. Many European companies, deliberately targeted in this way, had suffered ruined reputations, plummeting revenues, and even bankruptcy.
When these confessions were delivered to Helena, the head of the police system said cautiously, “Your Majesty, some of this material is extremely explosive. How do you wish to proceed?”
Having read through it, Helena replied calmly, “Have the Foreign Ministry send these documents to Sweden. Tell them that I, Helena Iliad, demand they investigate this matter to the end. Not a single potential criminal suspect can be let off, and this hypocritical organisation must never again be allowed to harm the Nordic people.”
She added, “Also, make the whole thing public and release it simultaneously to the media. Put pressure on Sweden.”
The official hesitated for a moment before answering respectfully, “Your Majesty, would this not be a little too aggressive? The environmental activists in Europe are far more numerous than the hundred-odd we have detained. There are at least tens of thousands of them. Offending them could cause considerable trouble in future.”
Helena asked him, “Do you know the population of the European Union?”
“Four or five hundred million, roughly,” he replied.
Helena nodded and said coolly, “Even if they account for one per cent of four or five hundred million, what does that matter? Ninety-nine per cent of the population still stands apart from them, does it not? We are doing what is right. As long as the vast majority stand with us, we have absolutely nothing to fear.”
With that, recalling Charlie wade’s words, she declared firmly, “The people of Europe have been tormented by them for far too long, and everyone has been forced to suffer in silence. It is time to put an end to this situation where kindness is exploited and the good are bullied!”
