“Second Sister-in-law, look at my second brother. He’s asking me for money.”
Zhan Yue complained to his second sister-in-law.
Ning Yun Chu laughed. “Ignore your second brother. If he really dares to take your money, tell Second Sister-in-law. I will help you get it back with interest.”
Zhan Yue laughed happily. Zhan Yi Chen then said, “Wife, you are being biased.”
“My sister-in-law still dotes on me the most.”
Zhan Yue said proudly.
Zhan Yin glanced sideways at him and asked, “Want to go on a business trip?”
Zhan Yue’s smugness vanished instantly. He shook his head vigorously and said, “My sister-in-law dotes on my brother the most. Hehe, I am ranked last.”
Hai Tong said to her husband, “Why are you scaring Old Eighth? He is right in the middle of the tense phase of pursuing his wife. If you make him go on a business trip and he comes back without winning her over, everyone will blame you.”
“Grandma will skin you alive.”
The old lady had been resting with her eyes closed. When the conversation turned to her, she opened her eyes and smiled. “Occasionally going on a short trip is good too. Let Xiaoya miss him a little. Maybe if Old Eighth does not go to see her for a few days, she will start thinking about him.”
“Grandma, a business trip is not happening right now.”
“Do not worry. We are all watching out for you. You should focus on sorting out your branch office matters first.”
Zhan Yue had nothing more to say.
Why had he been running his mouth earlier?
Although Grandma was anxious about their marriages, once they found someone they liked, she turned into someone who enjoyed watching the drama. She wanted to see them go through the “pursuit hell” phase. She always said that Fourth Brother’s pursuit hell was not abusive at all.
She said Fourth Brother just ate a bit of chilli live on stream, and everyone felt so sorry for him that in the end he still successfully won Fourth Sister-in-law.
All his other brothers’ pursuits went smoothly. Even if there were love rivals, those rivals were easily defeated.
Perhaps the biggest obstacles on the path of love belonged to Big Brother and Big Sister-in-law.
“After I sent Xiaoya home, Doctor Lin came to find me. We went out and chatted again.”
The old lady said, “What? Your love rival still dares to look for you? He is not giving up yet?”
“He has given up. Doctor Lin is actually a pretty decent person.”
Zhan Yue and Doctor Lin were love rivals. Sometimes he would badmouth Doctor Lin in front of Xiaoya, yet he had to admit that Doctor Lin was truly outstanding. It was just that compared to heaven-blessed prodigies like them, Doctor Lin fell a little short.
They were only better than Doctor Lin at one thing: being born into the right family. They were born as young masters in a wealthy household.
If they had been born into an ordinary family, they might not even have achieved as much as Doctor Lin.
Zhan Yue told the whole family about Doctor Lin coming to find him and their conversation.
The old lady yawned, then stood up and said to everyone, “I am sleepy. I am going to sleep first. You all should disperse too. There is no exciting drama to watch tonight. Tomorrow we will take the children to the zoo, but we will go separately. That way we will attract less attention.”
When the whole family went out together, the men were handsome and the women were beautiful. It was easy to draw attention and have their identities recognised.
Usually when they took the children out to play and let them have a happy childhood, many people had seen the Zhan family’s grandchildren. But they did not know their identities. No one secretly took photos of them, so the media did not have any clear frontal pictures of the children.
Of course, bodyguards followed them discreetly. If they noticed anyone trying to take photos, the bodyguards would intervene immediately and never allow the children’s pictures to leak out.
The paparazzi only ever captured the children’s backs. They never got a frontal shot. They knew how protective the Zhan family was of the children, so the paparazzi were actually quite tactful and did not try to get frontal photos.
Many paparazzi were married and parents themselves. They could understand the Zhan family’s protectiveness. As parents, they too would do everything possible to protect their own children.
“Grandma, understood.”
