Without Lin Yun’s help, even if Little Green Dragon had achieved an exceptional bloodline, reaching ten claws would have taken tens of thousands of years.
This fact was crystal clear to the elders of the West Sea Dragon Palace.
As a result, their view of Lin Yun had long since changed from before.
Little Green Dragon retracted his aura and sat back down.
“Elders, with my leadership, the West Sea Dragon Palace will now undertake a great task: to reunite the dragon clan. This is also the final wish of the Dragon Emperor.”
With a resounding voice, Little Green Dragon continued, “And all of you will join me in achieving this great feat.”
The elders rose to their feet.
“We await the Dragon King’s commands.”
Their voices, filled with fervor, echoed through the council hall.
The dragon clan, once a unified whole, had been divided into four Dragon Palaces for hundreds of thousands of years. What they were about to accomplish was something no one had achieved in all that time.
How could they not be thrilled to be part of such a monumental task?
“Excellent.”
“Second Elder, immediately announce to the entire West Sea Dragon Palace that I am the Dragon Emperor’s successor.”
“Third Elder, quickly send messengers to inform the other three Dragon Palaces of my identity as the Dragon Emperor’s successor. Tell them that, in my capacity as the Dragon Emperor’s heir, I summon them to the Ancient Barren Sea, outside the Hidden Dragon Abyss, for a meeting in half a month. The Dragon Kings of the three Dragon Palaces must attend, or they will bear the consequences.”
“Grand Elder, promptly prepare the warriors of our West Sea Dragon Palace for an expedition.”
Little Green Dragon issued the decrees in rapid succession.
“Understood.”
The three elders responded in unison, their voices resounding.
Clearly, a massive storm was about to sweep through the entire dragon clan.
The current structure of the dragon clan would be utterly shattered by this storm.
The dragon clan was about to undergo a transformation.
Before aiding the human race against the demon clan, the dragon clan clearly needed to resolve its internal issues and achieve unification.
“Lin Yun.”
After the meeting, the elders busied themselves preparing for the great task ahead.
…
East Sea Dragon Palace.
In the grand hall, the East Sea Dragon King was discussing matters with several elders.
A guard hurriedly entered the hall. “Dragon King, a messenger from the West Sea Dragon Palace has arrived.”
“The West Sea Dragon Palace sent a messenger? For what?” The East Sea Dragon King frowned.
“Dragon King, since they’ve sent a messenger, let’s see what the West Sea Dragon Palace wants,” the Grand Elder of the East Sea Dragon Palace said.
The East Sea Dragon King nodded. “Go, bring the West Sea Dragon Palace messenger in.”
“Understood.”
The guard responded and quickly exited the hall.
Moments later, the messenger entered.
“East Sea Dragon King, this is an urgent letter from our West Sea Dragon Palace.” The messenger presented the letter.
Once the letter reached the East Sea Dragon King, he opened it immediately.
“Damn it. It’s that little brat, as expected.”
After reading the letter’s contents, anger surged across his face.
“What’s wrong, Dragon King?”
Seeing his intense reaction, the elders immediately pressed for answers.
“The Dragon Emperor’s inheritance and the Divine Dragon Pearl have indeed fallen into the hands of the West Sea Dragon King. He has now made this public.” The East Sea Dragon King’s face darkened.
His words caused an uproar in the hall.
“What? It really is him?”
The elders were utterly shocked by the news.
The Dragon Palaces had long speculated about who had received the Dragon Emperor’s inheritance, with differing opinions.
The East Sea Dragon King had always suspected the West Sea Dragon King the most.
“That brat. He kept slandering me, making the other two Dragon Palaces think I was the one who got the Dragon Emperor’s inheritance.” The East Sea Dragon King gritted his teeth.
Recalling how Little Green Dragon had pinned the blame on him at the Hidden Dragon Abyss, the East Sea Dragon King seethed with anger.
“Dragon King, this guy has some guts, daring to reveal this so soon. If his virtue doesn’t match his position, disaster will follow. Does he think holding the Divine Dragon Pearl makes him safe? Isn’t he afraid the three Dragon Palaces will join forces against him to seize it?” the Grand Elder of the East Sea Dragon Palace said.
“Exactly. With the current strength of the West Sea Dragon Palace and its Dragon King, he can’t protect the Divine Dragon Pearl. Announcing it publicly is practically suicide.”
The other elders chimed in.
The East Sea Dragon King said coldly, “Not only has he revealed this, but he’s also, in his capacity as the Dragon Emperor’s successor, ordered the three Dragon Palaces’ Dragon Kings to meet him outside the Hidden Dragon Abyss in the Ancient Barren Sea for a discussion.”
“What?”
The elders of the East Sea Dragon Palace were stunned again.
“Has the West Sea Dragon King lost his mind? It’s bold enough to go public, but to order the three Dragon Palaces to meet him? That’s utterly laughable.” The elders found it absurd.
The East Sea Dragon King leaned back on his throne, sneering. “This guy not only summons the three Dragon Kings as the Dragon Emperor’s successor but does so with a commanding tone, saying there will be consequences for not attending.”
“He’s young, full of hot air, and acting so recklessly. He’s practically begging for trouble. What gives him the right?”
The elders of the East Sea Dragon Palace chattered, finding it increasingly ridiculous.
“Dragon King, now that we know he has the Divine Dragon Pearl, this is the perfect chance to seize it.” The Grand Elder’s eyes gleamed with ambition.
“He dares to reveal his identity and summon the three Dragon Kings so arrogantly. He should be prepared to pay the price.” The East Sea Dragon King’s gaze sharpened.
The allure of the Divine Dragon Pearl was undeniable.
“Dragon King, could this be a trap? His actions seem suspicious,” one elder cautioned.
The Grand Elder of the East Sea Dragon Palace immediately countered, “I also find the West Sea Dragon King’s actions suspicious. He might be planning some trick. But in the face of absolute strength, all schemes are meaningless. He’s only at eight claws. At his age, reaching nine claws would take an immense amount of time. If we want to seize the Divine Dragon Pearl, what chance does he or his West Sea Dragon Palace have to protect it?”
“True. He’s only at eight claws. What tricks could he pull?”
“Even if, hypothetically, he’s at nine claws, could he possibly fend off the combined efforts of the three Dragon Palaces vying for it?”
Several elders nodded in agreement.
“Dealing with the West Sea Dragon King won’t be difficult. The Divine Dragon Pearl will be mine.” The East Sea Dragon King’s tone was resolute.
Even if he sensed something amiss, his confidence in his strength gave him assurance. Besides, great undertakings always involved risks.
The East Sea Dragon King then instructed, “Grand Elder, personally visit the South Sea and North Sea Dragon Palaces. Tell their Dragon Kings that when we meet the West Sea Dragon King outside the Hidden Dragon Abyss, the three Dragon Palaces will first deal with the West Sea Dragon Palace together. Then, we can discuss the division of the Divine Dragon Pearl.”
