“Excellent!”
All the Immortals present stood up, raising their glasses to Lin Yun in respect.
Everyone was well aware of Lin Yun’s contributions to the human race.
Many of the Immortals present now greatly admired Lin Yun.
He was destined to be recorded in history as a legendary figure of the human race!
“Your kindness is appreciated. Destroying the demon race was a collective effort. Everyone here shares in the credit.”
Lin Yun raised his glass, stood up, and drank deeply.
The others followed suit, drinking heartily.
The banquet continued, with a hundred dancers arriving to perform and liven the atmosphere.
People clinked glasses, chatted merrily, and drank, the scene buzzing with joy and celebration.
During the event, many Immortals approached Lin Yun personally, toasting him and thanking him for his contributions.
Halfway through the banquet.
“Palace Master Mo, Deputy Palace Master Yao, carry on drinking. I’ll step away for a moment,” Lin Yun said to the two seated beside him.
“Alright,” Palace Master Mo nodded.
Lin Yun left his seat and made his way to the main hall of the Heavenly God Palace.
With everyone celebrating outside, the hall was empty and quiet.
The lively sounds of celebration could still be clearly heard from outside.
Lin Yun waved his hand, revealing the True Saint Artifact.
“What is it?” Lin Yun looked at the artifact.
He had just sensed it calling to him.
“Lin Yun, now that your enemies are defeated, isn’t it time you prepared to head to the ancestral land and form the Death Servant Contract?” the True Saint Artifact said.
Clearly, it was urging Lin Yun.
“Don’t worry, I’ll go. But the war has just ended, and I need to spend some time with my family,” Lin Yun replied.
“How long will that take?” the artifact asked.
Lin Yun thought for a moment. “It depends. Perhaps a thousand years, maybe two.”
“You have two thousand years at most,” the artifact said coldly.
“I understand.”
With that, Lin Yun waved his hand, putting it away.
Carrying it felt like having a spy from the Heavenly Fire Temple by his side.
But he had needed it to defeat the Demon Lord.
Lin Yun then left the hall.
As he stepped out, he ran into Emperor Fire Cloud approaching.
“Master, everyone’s drinking and celebrating. Why are you here?” Lin Yun asked with a smile.
“I saw you leave the banquet alone, so I came to check on you. Is something wrong, my disciple?” Emperor Fire Cloud asked with concern.
“Nothing’s wrong, Master,” Lin Yun said, grinning.
“I feel like something’s on your mind. If there’s an issue, speak up. We’ll find a way to help,” Emperor Fire Cloud said earnestly.
“Really, it’s nothing, Master,” Lin Yun said, his smile bright.
“Alright then. If there’s nothing, let’s go back and keep drinking.”
Emperor Fire Cloud pulled Lin Yun back to the banquet.
The celebration lasted a full day and night before concluding.
After leaving the Heavenly God Palace, Lin Yun took Little Green Dragon and headed straight back to the Fire Cloud Empire, making his way to his residence in the capital city.
With the demon race eradicated and the world at peace, it was time for Lin Yun to return home.
At the Lin Residence.
The courtyard was bustling with activity.
Su Yan, Jiang Jingwen, Zhao Ling, Qin Shi, Yun Shang, and Yu Ying were there, along with Lin Kexin, Lin Yi, and Lin Yi’s partner, Xia Xuan.
Beyond them, many of Lin Yun’s old friends from Earth were present: Senior Sister Hong Ling, Fatty, Liu Bo, Lone Wolf, Grandfather Liu Zhizhong, White Shark, Pan Qing, Lei Cheng, the White Cloud Sect’s Grand Elder, Prince Ige of Shalai, the Holy Temple’s Grand Elder, Elder Xiong of the Holy Temple, and other elders.
They had all been brought here.
These old friends from Earth were gathered in the courtyard.
Over the years, the Holy Temple’s Grand Elder and others had managed affairs on Earth, where the temple held a dominant position.
During his five hundred years of cultivation, Lin Yun had returned to Earth several times, leaving behind ample resources and the Coffin of Mysteries for everyone.
Each visit, he provided as many cultivation resources as he could within his means.
With his support, they had all reached the Tribulation Realm. That was the extent of what Lin Yun could do to help extend their lifespans.
At that moment, everyone was gathered in the courtyard, chatting lively.
“A thousand years have passed, and Lin Yun has become the supreme powerhouse of this cultivation continent. It feels like a dream.”
“Lin Yun is truly incredible.”
“This is my first time here. This place is massive.”
As they talked, Lin Yun and Little Green Dragon walked in from outside.
“Lin Yun’s back!”
Everyone turned to look at him.
“Everyone’s here,” Lin Yun said, smiling at the gathered crowd.
“Lin Yun, it’s been centuries since you last returned to Earth. I’ve missed you,” the Holy Temple’s Grand Elder said with a warm smile.
“I’ve missed you all too. That’s why I had you all come here,” Lin Yun said, smiling back.
Yu Ying rushed up to him.
“Brother Yun, you said last time that after defeating the Demon Lord, you’d retire. Does that still stand?” she asked, her eyes full of hope.
Grandfather spoke up. “Yun’er, you’ve reached the pinnacle of this world, with no rivals and an endless lifespan. It’s time to rest.”
Lone Wolf added, “Yeah, Yun Bro, you’re invincible now, and there’s no demon threat anymore. The world’s at peace. You don’t need to keep pushing.”
In their eyes, Lin Yun had reached the absolute peak. They were unaware of the Heavenly Dao’s rules, the destruction of epochs, or deeper secrets.
To them, no one could threaten Lin Yun anymore. He had reached the limit, and with the demon race gone, there was no need for him to continue cultivating.
“I’m a man of my word. From today, I’m retiring,” Lin Yun said with a smile.
“Really? That’s wonderful!”
At his words, all his friends and family cheered with joy.
Yu Ying, Yun Shang, Su Yan, Qin Shi, Zhao Ling, and Jiang Jingwen were especially thrilled.
His daughter Lin Kexin and son Lin Yi were practically ecstatic.
“Yun Bro, now you can settle down with your wife and kids, maybe have a few more!” White Shark said with a laugh.
“You rascal, always teasing,” Lin Yun said, chuckling awkwardly and shooting him a look.
Then, addressing everyone, Lin Yun continued, “Since you’re all here, stay for a while. The environment here is better for your cultivation.”
With Lin Yun’s help, they had all reached the Tribulation Realm. Going forward, crossing the tribulation would depend on them.
Training and improving here would better prepare them for it.
And with Lin Yun at the pinnacle of the cultivation continent, they could stay here with peace of mind.
“Alright!” everyone agreed.
“Lin Yun, we’ve set up a feast in the back courtyard. We were waiting for you. Let’s head there,” Palace Master Yun Shang said.
