“Whoosh!”
As Mei Tianmo transformed into her spirit beast form, her Heavenly Demon Wings flapped, propelling her at an incredible speed towards Cao Zheng. With a flick of her venomous stinger, a surge of toxic mist erupted, carrying terrifying force as it smashed towards him.
Boom!
Cao Zheng countered with a powerful surge of energy, clashing with the stinger and unleashing a deafening explosion. His body was forcefully knocked back.
In close combat, he was no match for Mei Tianmo’s sheer strength. Her beastly form was incredibly tough, boasting both formidable defence and overwhelming power.
After being repelled, Mei Tianmo charged again, her massive iron wings whipping up a fierce gale as they swept towards Cao Zheng.
His expression changed drastically. Facing both her wings and stinger, he felt overwhelmed, as if fighting with two fists against four hands. Mei Tianmo’s advantage in battle was immense.
“Boom!”
On the other side, the Blue Corpse Puppet collided with Cao Chen. The puppet, with its formidable physical strength, was like a human-shaped weapon. The impact sent Cao Chen reeling back.
Cao Chen frowned, unleashing a blazing fist strike that radiated with dazzling light and surging momentum, aimed at the puppet.
The corpse puppet was strong in defence and attack but, as a lifeless entity, lacked the ability to strike from a distance. For someone intent on escaping, it posed little threat.
Yet, in the next moment, Cao Chen watched in shock as the puppet raised its hand, shrouded in eerie mist. Its five fingers aligned, and five beams of ghostly light shot from its fingertips, carrying a sinister, destructive force that seemed capable of piercing the void itself.
Cao Chen was stunned. A corpse puppet using martial techniques?
This was beyond his expectations!
Moreover, the beams were terrifying, as if they could tear through space, exuding a palpable sense of danger.
“Cracking Heaven Fist!”
Cao Chen had no choice but to unleash the Cao family’s Cracking Heaven Fist, meeting the piercing beams head-on.
“Boom!”
A thunderous roar erupted, and waves of immense energy surged outward, roiling in all directions.
Under this clash, Cao Chen was thrown back, nearly spitting blood.
His face grew grim; the puppet’s combat strength was far stronger than he’d anticipated.
“Whoosh!” After the strike, the puppet didn’t continue with martial techniques. Instead, it shot towards Cao Chen at breakneck speed.
“Boom!” “Boom!” “Boom!”…
Cao Chen was forced into close combat, entangled by the relentless puppet.
Fighting Mei Tianmo and the puppet was already taxing for the two. If a Tier-6 beginner spirit beast joined the fray, their situation would become even more dire.
Yet, Mei Tianmo and the puppet kept them pinned down, making escape impossible. They fought on, wary of the rumoured spirit beast.
But after battling for some time, they noticed Lin Xiao hadn’t summoned the beast.
This eased their minds. Perhaps the beast wasn’t here or was in seclusion, as there seemed no reason for Lin Xiao not to call it out for an ambush.
Emboldened, they fought with full force against the puppet and Mei Tianmo.
To their shock, even unrestrained, they were still overwhelmed by the puppet and Mei Tianmo.
Cao Zheng, in particular, found Mei Tianmo’s strength growing, faintly showing signs of breaking through to a new threshold.
In the end, countless mountain peaks in the area were shattered. Cao Zheng was gravely injured by Mei Tianmo, his body bloodied.
Cao Chen, meanwhile, could barely hold off the puppet, with no chance of breaking free.
The two fought the beast and puppet for half an hour. After that, the severely wounded Cao Zheng was pierced by Mei Tianmo’s stinger, poisoned, and lost his combat ability, plummeting to the ground.
As Mei Tianmo passed the falling Cao Zheng, she took his storage ring, ignoring him, and turned to attack Cao Chen.
This was because Lin Xiao wanted Cao Zheng left alive, or Mei Tianmo would have killed him outright.
Meanwhile, Lin Xiao, riding the Xutian Phoenix Wings, rushed with Ling Hu towards the incapacitated Cao Zheng.
“Elder Zheng!” Cao Chen cried out in alarm. With Cao Zheng defeated, he now faced both Mei Tianmo and the puppet.
Against the puppet alone, he was struggling. Facing Mei Tianmo, who could defeat a Fourth Layer Wujun, meant certain defeat.
Yet, he had no choice but to keep fighting.
Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Cao Chen was pierced by Mei Tianmo’s stinger, poisoned, and lost his combat ability. Mei Tianmo grabbed him and brought him before Lin Xiao and Ling Hu.
On the ground, Lin Xiao and Ling Hu stood beside Cao Zheng. With a “thud,” Cao Chen’s body was tossed beside him like a dead dog, kicking up dust.
Mei Tianmo and the puppet landed nearby.
With a wave of his hand, Lin Xiao recalled the puppet.
Looking at the two men on the ground, their bodies blackened, writhing in agony and trembling so much that dust swirled around them, Lin Xiao felt a chill.
Mei Tianmo’s stinger was far too venomous, reducing two Wujun to such a pitiful state.
“Ask your questions. Those poisoned by my venom will suffer so much they’ll beg for death,” Mei Tianmo sneered confidently, her face deceptively innocent.
At her words, the two trembled harder, their faces contorted as they gritted their teeth.
Lin Xiao felt a shiver. He hadn’t expected Mei Tianmo to have such torturous methods. He’d thought the Heavenly Demon Scorpion venom would kill instantly, not torment its victims to death.
The two, barely human in their agony, were likely just at the start of their suffering.
Looking at them, Lin Xiao spoke slowly, “We each have one question. Answer truthfully, and we’ll give you a quick end.”
“My question is simple: has the Cao family sent anyone to retaliate against the Shengyuan Academy in the Chaos Lands? That shouldn’t be a secret, right?”
“Hmph, Lin Xiao, we’d rather die than answer you!” Cao Zheng spat through gritted teeth, his body trembling even more, his face twisting as if speaking cost him immense pain.
“My father, Ling Xiao, where was he taken by your Cao family?” Ling Hu demanded, his eyes burning with killing intent.
This question likely wasn’t a secret to the Cao family either, but both men clenched their jaws, refusing to speak.
They were too tormented by the venom to be surprised that Ling Hu was Ling Xiao’s son.
Seeing their stubbornness, Mei Tianmo chuckled with disdain, “No rush, we’ll wait. They’ve got plenty of time to suffer.”
