“Elder Li, I have thought this through very carefully. Money can be earned again, but some things cannot be measured by money,” Lin Yun said without hesitation.
“Fine, since you are resolute, I will say no more.”
Elder Li took the storage ring from Lin Yun.
“Go back and wait for news. You can set off in a few days, and I will send someone to notify you,” Elder Li said, waving his hand.
“Yes, sir.”
Lin Yun responded, then left the courtyard and returned to his camp.
Over the next few days, he waited.
During this time, Lin Yun did not idle, studying the Annihilation Heavenly Fire further.
Back when he was in the Dominion Realm, Lin Yun had already mastered the third level, the Silent Destruction Flame.
However, advancing further required reaching the Saint Realm, so he had paused.
Now, having reached the Transcendent Realm, Lin Yun could elevate the Annihilation Heavenly Fire once more.
…
The next day.
Inside Shu Zhen’s residence.
The trusted subordinate who had been sent out rushed back.
“Well?” Shu Zhen stood up immediately upon seeing him, eager for answers.
“Commander Shu, I went to Blazing Sun Villa. Lie Wuyan’s body was found in the wilderness the day before yesterday, but Blazing Sun Villa doesn’t know who did it. His mysterious death has been the talk of Tao’an City these past two days,” the subordinate reported.
Upon hearing this, Shu Zhen collapsed into his chair, his face pale, as if all his spirit had been drained.
No matter how unbelievable it seemed, he had to accept the truth: Lin Yun had killed both Lie Wuyan and Wu Gu.
“This man possesses the strength to kill both Lie Wuyan and Wu Gu. I must reassess him,” Shu Zhen said after a long silence, his voice heavy with realization.
Lin Yun’s ability to kill them was undoubtedly a massive shock to Shu Zhen.
How could this man be so strong?
It seemed that even if Shu Zhen himself took action, killing Lin Yun would be difficult.
Avenging his brother would have to be a long-term plan…
…
Three days later, Elder Li sent someone to inform Lin Yun that preparations for his return were complete.
Lin Yun followed the messenger to the Star Realm teleportation site, the same place he had arrived from.
When Lin Yun reached the massive circular platform, Elder Li was already waiting.
“Elder Li,” Lin Yun saluted.
“Lin Yun, take this. When you wish to return, crush it, and we will activate the formation to bring you back,” Elder Li said, handing him a jade pendant.
“Yes, sir,” Lin Yun said, accepting it.
“Step up. The Star Realm teleportation will be activated shortly,” Elder Li gestured.
Lin Yun leaped onto the massive platform.
As he stood steady, the platform began to glow, enveloping him in light.
“Lin Yun, go and return quickly!” Elder Li called out.
The light intensified, forming a massive vortex that swallowed Lin Yun completely.
Lin Yun had successfully embarked on his journey back.
Returning from the Ancestral Land to the Cultivation Continent was an immense distance, requiring breaking through a layer of Heavenly Law constraints.
Carried by this force at astonishing speed, Lin Yun’s heart brimmed with anticipation at the thought of seeing his friends and family in the Ancestral Land again…
…
Cultivation Continent, beneath Heavenly Mountain, inside the Divine Palace.
“Hm? A disturbance? The passage from the Ancestral Land has opened!”
The silver-armored stone statues in the Divine Palace sensed the activity and quickly assembled in formation.
A man clad in Heavenly Fire armor appeared swiftly.
His role was similar to Old Black’s in the past.
“Captain,” the silver-armored statues saluted him.
“Why has the passage from the Ancestral Land suddenly opened?” the Heavenly Fire captain wondered, visibly puzzled.
This was odd. Normally, the passage only opened when someone from this side passed the Temple of Heavenly Fire’s trial.
After all, activating the passage was extremely costly. Why would it open without reason?
The next moment, a figure descended.
It was Lin Yun!
Lin Yun glanced around. “I’m really back.”
Looking at the familiar Divine Palace, a smile spread across his face.
When he left the Cultivation Continent, Lin Yun had thought it might be difficult to return, or that it would take a very long time.
“Lin… Lin Yun!”
The four silver-armored statues were stunned upon seeing him, as they were very familiar with Lin Yun.
They also noticed he was wearing the armor of a Heavenly Fire General.
The Heavenly Fire captain was equally astonished and puzzled by Lin Yun’s arrival, unsure of his purpose.
“Greetings, Commander!” the captain said, saluting despite his confusion.
After all, Lin Yun was a Heavenly Fire General, far above his rank!
“Greetings, Commander Lin Yun!” The four silver-armored statues also saluted.
“Good to see you four again,” Lin Yun said, smiling at them.
“Commander Lin Yun, we didn’t expect you to rise to Commander so quickly. Does that mean… you’ve reached the Transcendent Realm?” one of the statues asked.
“Yes, I’ve reached the Transcendent Realm,” Lin Yun replied with a smile.
“Commander Lin Yun, your advancement speed is simply incredible!” the four statues exclaimed in awe.
“Commander Lin Yun, why have you returned? Is it for a mission from the Temple of Heavenly Fire?” the Heavenly Fire captain asked eagerly.
Though it was his first time meeting Lin Yun, he had heard of him through the statues.
“This time, I’m back for personal matters,” Lin Yun answered.
“Personal matters?”
The captain and statues were shocked.
They all knew the immense cost of activating the teleportation, especially for someone of Lin Yun’s Transcendent Realm status, which made the cost astronomical.
To use such resources for personal matters was astounding.
“Has the Dark Demon Clan invaded the Cultivation Continent yet?” Lin Yun asked.
“Reporting to Commander Lin, not yet,” the captain replied.
“Good! Everyone, I have matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave,” Lin Yun said, eager to proceed.
With that, he swiftly headed out of the Divine Palace.
