“I got it. You received it too?” Lin Yun asked, surprised.
“Yes. Let’s hurry and provide support!” Old Black said solemnly.
“Alright!”
Lin Yun nodded, and the two donned their Heavenly satisfied with the result.
Fire Temple armour, rushing out of the city towards the west of Tao’an City.
On the way, Lin Yun asked, “Old Black, why would the Heavenly Fire Temple suddenly call us to support?”
“The Heavenly Fire Temple token can track our location. When there’s a battle nearby needing support, it assigns the closest members to assist,” Old Black explained.
Lin Yun understood.
Their afterimages streaked across the sky, and they soon spotted the battlefield.
A Heavenly Fire Captain was leading over twenty Heavenly Fire Guards in a fierce, deadlocked battle against a group of opponents.
The captain was facing three Dominion Realm experts, already wounded.
Several Heavenly Fire Guards had already perished.
When the captain saw Lin Yun and Old Black, it was as if he’d seen a lifeline.
“A lieutenant has come to help!”
The Heavenly Fire Guards, seeing Lin Yun and Old Black arrive, reacted as if they’d been thrown a lifeline.

Old Black immediately engaged one of them.

“It’s you?”
As Lin Yun entered the battlefield, he realised his target was someone familiar.
It was the young man who had warned him about the scam yesterday!
Lin Yun had wanted to thank him but couldn’t find him at the time.
The young man seemed to recognise Lin Yun as well.
“So you’re one of the Heavenly Fire Temple’s lackeys. I was kind enough to warn you yesterday. I must’ve been blind!” the young man cursed angrily at Lin Yun.
Lin Yun was stunned by his words.
“Captain, why are you fighting them? What did they do?” Lin Yun turned to the captain battling the young man.
Though he didn’t know the young man or his companions, based on yesterday’s events, Lin Yun felt the young man didn’t seem like a villain.
“Lieutenant, don’t ask so many questions. Since the Heavenly Fire Temple issued the order, just kill them!” the captain urged anxiously.
“Yes, Lieutenant, act quickly. Every second you delay puts our brothers in more danger,” the fighting Heavenly Fire Guards echoed urgently.
“Captain, if you want me to act, tell me the reason first!” Lin Yun said.
“This… Lieutenant, I received a bounty mission from the Heavenly Fire Temple. They’re wanted fugitives. As for the reason, how would I know? We just carry out orders! Lieutenant, act now!” the captain pressed urgently.
Lin Yun turned to the young man. “You must know why the Heavenly Fire Temple is hunting you. Tell me the reason.”
“Hmph, your Heavenly Fire Temple commits countless evils, wiping out my family. And you ask for a reason? Stop pretending to be righteous. If you want to fight, just do it!” the young man sneered.
Lin Yun’s heart sank at those words.
What was going on?
Seeing Lin Yun hesitate, Old Black said, “Lieutenant Lin Yun, fight first. If we don’t complete the Heavenly Fire Temple’s mission, we’ll face punishment!”
Lin Yun hesitated inwardly. Though the world was cruel, he didn’t want to kill indiscriminately.

“The rest is up to you,” Guang Tiancheng said to the captain nearby.

“Commander, they didn’t seem like villains. I… I couldn’t act without understanding the situation,” Lin Yun said, lowering his head.
“Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous! Why do you need to understand? When a mission comes, you execute it, understand? You’re a Deathsworn. You must obey the Heavenly Fire Temple’s orders absolutely. Nothing else is your concern!” Guang Tiancheng berated.
Lin Yun fell silent, unable to argue.
“Lin Yun, you’re lucky I was nearby on business. If another lieutenant or general had seen your dereliction of duty and reported it to the Heavenly Fire Temple, you’d face severe punishment!” Guang Tiancheng questioned.
“I understand,” Lin Yun replied, forcing himself to respond.
“Since you’re under my command, I’ll give you this one chance and won’t report this. But if you make this mistake again and drag down my Cold Fiend Army, you’ll bear the consequences! The Cold Fiend Army has no place for such uselessness! Don’t let it happen again!” Guang Tiancheng scolded sternly.
By then, the battle had ended, and the opposing forces had been completely wiped out.
