Although Lin Yun wouldn’t blame his two teammates, this also meant he could never truly trust them.
“Everyone, gather the spoils and divide them up,” Lin Yun said.
The storage rings and weapons of the four slain Heaven Realm cultivators were collected.
“Lin Yun, these are for you,” Wu Tiancheng said, handing over the spoils.
“Brother Wu, you and your three teammates should split the spoils from these four Heaven Realm cultivators. I’ve already taken two shares, and besides, you and your team held them off,” Lin Yun replied.
He had already claimed the spoils from the black-robed Heaven Realm cultivator and the monkey-faced man.
Wu Tiancheng smiled. “Lin Yun, without your help, my four teammates and I would likely be dead, let alone have any spoils. You saved us, and that’s the greatest help. We can’t take these.”
“Alright then, let’s split the spoils from these four Heaven Realm cultivators. I’ll take half, and you and your teammates take half. Brother Wu, no more objections,” Lin Yun said with a smile, handing two shares to Wu Tiancheng.
“Haha, I won’t argue then,” Wu Tiancheng said, accepting the spoils with a grin.
“Brother Wu, I came back to the Border Mountains to hunt demons. Since we’ve met, let’s team up,” Lin Yun suggested.
“Absolutely,” Wu Tiancheng’s three teammates replied eagerly before he could respond.
Having witnessed Lin Yun defeat five Heaven Realm cultivators single-handedly, they were thrilled at the prospect of teaming up with him. Who wouldn’t want a powerhouse in their group?
“Alright, let’s work together,” Wu Tiancheng agreed.
“We shouldn’t stay here long. Let’s move to another location,” Lin Yun said.
The two teams, now seven strong, set off together.
Along the way, Lin Yun sorted through his spoils. He had taken the spoils from four Heaven Realm cultivators, including two at the Second Heaven Realm, yielding over sixty million Bright Moon Crystals, along with weapons and other resources.
…
Two years later.
Outside a cave.
Lin Yun stood waiting.
Wu Tiancheng emerged from the cave.
“How did it go, Brother Wu? Did you succeed?” Lin Yun asked eagerly.
“It’s done. I’ve successfully reached the Second Heaven Realm,” Wu Tiancheng said with a smile.
“Haha, congratulations, Brother Wu!” Lin Yun clasped his fists in celebration.
When Lin Yun first met Wu Tiancheng, he was already at the First Heaven Realm and had been hunting demons in the Border Mountains for a long time. It wasn’t surprising that, after all this time, he had now reached the Second Heaven Realm.
For Lin Yun, reaching the Second Heaven Realm would still take time, but he wasn’t in a rush. He would hunt demons steadily in the Border Mountains, progressing step by step.
Suddenly, everyone felt a faint ripple coming from far away.
The distance was so great that the sensation was barely noticeable.
“What’s happening?” Lin Yun looked towards the distant depths of the mountains.
“This ripple is coming from far away, yet we can still sense it. That’s not normal!” Wu Tiancheng said.
The other teammates nodded in agreement.
Just then, a team of four cultivators sped past them, rushing down the mountain from the depths of the range.
“Friends, what’s going on?” Wu Tiancheng stepped forward to intercept them and ask.
“Get out of the way!”
The four cultivators dodged Wu Tiancheng, racing down the mountain without pausing or explaining.
“What’s happening?” Everyone was puzzled.
Moments later, two more teams sped past overhead, heading down the mountain.
“Something’s wrong! Something’s definitely happened!” one of Wu Tiancheng’s teammates said.
The disturbance they had sensed earlier seemed to grow stronger and more distinct.
In other words, it was getting closer.
Coupled with the sight of multiple teams frantically fleeing down the mountain, the situation felt increasingly abnormal.
