After the four reached an agreement, they headed straight for North Street.
Upon entering North Street, Wu Chengtian led them through an alley, and a massive building came into Lin Yun’s view.
The entire structure resembled a palace. To own such a grand building in Heart City spoke volumes about the influence of the owner behind it.
Wu Chengtian had mentioned that private fighting was forbidden in Hundred Fragrance House, likely due to the protection of this powerful owner.
As the four arrived at the entrance, two provocatively dressed women approached to greet them.
“Four young masters, would you like a servant to accompany you?” one of the women asked warmly.
“No need. I’ve been here before. We’ll explore on our own,” Wu Chengtian replied.
With that, he led Lin Yun and his two younger brothers into Hundred Fragrance House.
As soon as they entered, Lin Yun caught a faint fragrance permeating the entire space.
“This scent seems to have a stimulating effect on the nerves,” Lin Yun said, sniffing the air.
“Indeed, this fragrance is unique. It uplifts the spirit and makes one feel more cheerful,” Wu Chengtian explained.
“Quite remarkable. No wonder it’s called Hundred Fragrance House,” Lin Yun said with a smile.
“This place is very popular among humans in Heart City. Many cultivators, while waiting for the treasure appraisal event to begin, will likely come here to have some fun,” Wu Chengtian said.
He continued, “The business here revolves around eating, drinking, and entertainment. You can even buy slaves from the Elf, Beastman, or Demon clans to serve you as you please.”
“Oh? Don’t the powerhouses from the Elf, Beastman, and Demon clans stationed in Heart City intervene?” Lin Yun asked, surprised.
“These slaves are brought to Hundred Fragrance House from other parts of the Ancestral Land, outside Heart City. The powerhouses stationed here only manage racial conflicts within the city. They don’t bother with this,” Wu Chengtian explained.
He added, “Moreover, these captured slaves are of low status and strength. Those powerhouses wouldn’t go to great lengths for such insignificant beings.”
“I see,” Lin Yun said, still unfamiliar with many of Heart City’s rules.
As they spoke, Wu Chengtian led Lin Yun to the area where slaves were sold.
Lin Yun looked up and saw Elves, Beastmen, and Demons locked up like merchandise, available for selection.
He noticed that there weren’t many Beastmen or Demons, but Elves were abundant, especially female Elves.
In front of these captured slaves, many human cultivators were picking and choosing. Female Elves were undoubtedly the most popular, their appearances exceptionally refined and beautiful.
These slaves could only hope that the masters who purchased them would be merciful.
If they ended up with someone cruel or deranged, their fate would undoubtedly be tragic.
Seeing Lin Yun looking at the female Elves, Wu Chengtian teased, “Brother Lin Yun, you’re not planning to save a fallen female Elf, are you?”
“Uh,” Lin Yun gave an awkward laugh and looked away.
At that moment, a burst of excited cheers erupted nearby, and many human cultivators selecting slaves rushed toward the commotion.
“It’s lively over there. Let’s go check it out,” Wu Chengtian said.
With that, the four headed toward the gathering crowd.
Upon arriving, they saw a stage.
On the stage was a cage, covered with a cloth, its contents unknown.
Next to the cage stood a man in a red robe.
“Fellow friends, today we will auction an exquisite female Elf. In the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, I will unveil this cloth to reveal her appearance to everyone and officially begin the auction! Those interested can come and participate!” the red-robed man announced loudly.
As his resounding voice spread, more cultivators gathered around.
“I’ve only been to Hundred Fragrance House once before. This kind of auction is new to me. I wonder what kind of female Elf is special enough to be auctioned separately,” Wu Chengtian said, amazed.
“Her appearance must be extraordinary, far more beautiful than those slave female Elves being sold over there. Otherwise, they wouldn’t single her out,” Wu Yue said.
“Since we’re here, let’s take a look,” Wu Qing said.
