He quickened his pace and reached the coffin.
Without hesitation, he reached out and pushed the lid open.
There was no corpse as he had imagined. The interior was completely empty except for a single letter that immediately caught his eye.
Lin Yun picked up the letter and swiftly opened it.
“Junior, if you have reached this place, it means you followed my guidance and your heart is not wicked. Otherwise you would never have received my clue. I, Lord Destruction Gold, have long since perished. Now, I wish to entrust you with a task: find me after my reincarnation.”
Lin Yun read on carefully. The letter explained everything in detail.
Lord Destruction Gold had been killed. Before death, he forced his soul into the cycle of reincarnation. No matter how many times he reincarnated, however, his memories could never be recovered.

Once entered into true reincarnation, memories of the previous life can never be awakened.

“If you are willing to accept this task, infuse your inner energy into this letter. The letter itself is also a contract. Once you infuse energy, the contract will activate. Upon signing, you will immediately know the location of the jade ruyi. If you do not wish to accept, simply put down the letter and leave.”
Those were the final words of the letter.
After a brief moment of thought, Lin Yun poured his inner energy into the letter.
As expected, a soul contract formed. Its terms required Lin Yun to sincerely undertake and complete the task.
That was not difficult. Lin Yun agreed at once.
The moment the contract was sealed, a wooden box sprang up from the bottom of the coffin.
Lin Yun caught it, opened it, and found a jade ruyi inside.
