Ancestral Conquest Chapter 435

“Young Master, once you reach the Elven domain, be extremely cautious. I will wait in Heart City for your good news,” Zou Dongsheng said solemnly.

“Relax. Since the connection has already been made, as long as I meet that female Elf Zi Tong, I am confident she will help me,” Lin Yun replied with a smile.

He clearly remembered the promise Zi Tong had made him all those years ago.

After bidding farewell to Zou Dongsheng, Lin Yun returned to the mansion of the Elven powerhouse.

In the main hall of Cang Chen’s mansion.

The trusted subordinate Cang Chen had sent out returned from outside.

“My lord, the intelligence is here. More than a thousand years ago, outside Heart City, he clashed with the Young Lord of the Nether Palace. At that time his realm was Transformation Dao, and he had just returned from a trade mission to the Beastman race. Beastman Muli intervened to protect him. Anything earlier than that is blank.”

“Good. I understand,” Cang Chen said, a cold smile curling the corners of his mouth.

The next day arrived.

At first light, someone knocked on the door of Lin Yun’s guest room.

Lin Yun rose, opened the door, and saw an Elven man standing there.

“Young sir, by order of Lord Cang Chen, I am to escort you to the Elven domain to meet Miss Zi Tong,” the Elf said politely, showing no hostility despite Lin Yun being human.

“Very well. Lead the way, please,” Lin Yun replied, cupping his fists.

Lin Yun followed the Elven man out of Heart City through the eastern gate, heading straight towards the Elven territory.

No matter how one looked at it, a lone human entering Elven lands carried risks.

But to save An Yun, Lin Yun had no choice.

With this Elf as guide, the journey went smoothly.

When they first crossed from the Ancestral Heart Realm into Elven territory, they were stopped and questioned by an Elven border patrol.

This was very different from Lin Yun’s previous trip to the Beastman race.

The difference stemmed mainly from the two races’ systems and structures, and perhaps also from intelligence. Beastmen were born less clever than humans, while Elves were far more intelligent.

Thus the Beastman race remained split into separate tribes, unable to form a great unity.

Humans could be considered balanced, without the extreme strengths and weaknesses of the other races.

Thanks to his Elven guide and the document written by Cang Chen, they passed the patrol’s inspection without issue.

Once they were through, Lin Yun felt much more at ease. Meeting Zi Tong now seemed all but guaranteed.

After the inspection, Lin Yun and the guide travelled another full day.

They were currently passing through a canyon.

Suddenly, the Elven man stopped.

“Is something wrong? Why have we stopped?” Lin Yun asked, puzzled.

“There is indeed something!” a resounding voice boomed from the canyon below.

Lin Yun looked in the direction of the voice and saw, to his shock, the Elven powerhouse Cang Chen.

His appearance sent a chill through Lin Yun’s heart.

“Senior Cang Chen… did you not say you were too busy to come? Why are you here?” Lin Yun asked.

At that moment, an ominous feeling rose within him.

“I am here, naturally, to take your life. Can you still not see that?” Cang Chen replied, his face twisting into a sinister smile.

The words struck Lin Yun like a thunderbolt.

“Why? I am a friend of Miss Zi Tong!” Lin Yun demanded.

“You do not need to know why. You only need to know that this time next year will be the anniversary of your death!”

The moment he finished speaking, a terrifying wave of divine sense instantly swept outwards.

“What terrifying divine sense!”

Feeling the sheer power of that divine sense, Lin Yun was utterly shaken.

He had never personally experienced divine sense of such astonishing intensity and refinement.

So this was the fearsome divine sense of the Elves?

Lin Yun had always been confident in his own divine sense. Especially in the ancestral land, where humans no longer placed much importance on it, none of the opponents he had faced possessed divine sense stronger than his own.

Since arriving in the ancestral land, he had never encountered truly formidable divine sense.

Now, at last, he felt it!

Boom!

The oncoming wave of divine sense slammed into him, only to be completely blocked by the soul-protecting pendant Lin Yun wore.

Without that supreme-grade pendant, that single surge of divine sense would have obliterated his consciousness and killed him instantly.
