Guards stood watch atop the high city walls.
Lin Yun quietly extended his divine sense across the wall to scout.
The guards’ divine sense was far inferior to his own, so they detected nothing.

“I heard a human has slipped into the city. They’ve sealed everything to find him.”
“What? A human?”

He had no idea where or how his cover had been blown, for none of the elves he had met had shown any unusual reaction.
Clearly, disguising himself as an elf was not as foolproof as he had hoped.
Whatever the case, exposure was now a fact. He had to leave at once.
The lesson from his previous near-death encounter with the elven expert Cang Chen was still fresh.
Moreover, Lin Yun feared that if news of his presence here reached Cang Chen, the elf might come to finish what he started.
