Once the two elders were seated.
“Fellow Daoist Lin Yun, do you know why the two of us have come to visit?” the Grand Elder of the Void Clan asked.
“If I guess correctly, it is for the origin artefact in my possession?” Lin Yun replied.
The Void Clan elder shook his head with a smile. “No, no, no. The importance of one origin artefact is certainly high, but how can its value compare to yours? Our Dao Alliance leader greatly admires you. He personally issued the order for us two to represent him and invite you to join the Dao Alliance!”
“Invite me?” Lin Yun was taken aback.
“Exactly. It is precisely to recruit you. The alliance leader has personally stated that as long as you are willing to join the Dao Alliance, you may directly enter the Dao Alliance headquarters and assume the position of a direct elder under the alliance. You will receive the full support and cultivation of the Dao Alliance!” the Grand Elder of the Dual Venerable Pavilion said.
The Grand Elder of the Void Clan beside him added, “Our Dao Alliance is mortal enemies with those six major forces. As long as you join us, you need not offer anything at all to enjoy the protection of the Dao Alliance.”
“As for that origin artefact blade, the alliance leader has also said that once you join, you may hand it over to the Dao Alliance. In return, the alliance will directly provide you with an origin artefact sword, or upgrade your current weapon to origin artefact level!”
Joining the Dao Alliance would not only grant him its protection, but also allow him to exchange the origin artefact war blade for an upgrade to his own precious sword.
Such terms were indeed extremely tempting.
“You two, I am truly sorry, but I have no intention of joining the Dao Alliance for the time being.” Lin Yun politely declined.

Lin Yun continued. “However, you two elders, I do indeed need the protection of the Dao Alliance at present. I am not asking for help without offering anything in return. I am willing to use that origin artefact war blade as a bargaining chip in exchange for the Dao Alliance ensuring my safe departure.”
“If you are determined not to join the Dao Alliance, then we cannot force you. As for the matter of the Dao Alliance protecting you, we can indeed assist even if you do not join. However, the Dao Alliance has its own conditions.” the Grand Elder of the Void Clan said.
“Oh? What conditions? Is the origin artefact not sufficient as a chip? Or is it not enough?” Lin Yun asked, puzzled.
“We in the Dao Alliance do not want the origin artefact. Our requirement is that in tomorrow’s championship contest, you deliberately hold back and allow Ji Gu to smoothly claim the championship.” the Grand Elder of the Void Clan said.
