Code Mage Chapter 112

Golden Rain Fall, a powerful sword technique, was comprehended by the Goddess of Wealth thousands of years ago, before her ascension, when she learned to harness the dragon’s breath from gold.

Legend has it that the Goddess of Wealth would grade her skills based on the number of gold coins used, such as Three Hundred Gold Coins: Golden Rain or One Million Gold Coins: Golden Rain. Later, some human swordsmen mastered the method of generating golden sword energy, making golden swordsmen one of the rarest and most powerful types of swordsmen.

On the entire continent, a swordsman wielding golden sword energy might not appear for decades, and ordinary swordsmen like Los had never even heard of it.

At this moment, Gilga unleashed the full power of Golden Rain Fall.

Golden sword energy rained down indiscriminately like a storm, leaving no escape for anything in the area. This was a luxurious and formidable combat style. The golden sword energy completely enveloped Camit’s five clones, sending debris flying as the ground shattered. When the golden light dissipated, a jagged pit had formed on one side of the Emperor-Slaying Cliff’s platform, as if a layer had been carved away.

Camit’s broken body lay in the pit, her armour in tatters, the possessing heroic spirit long gone. She was barely clinging to life, her face filled with shock and regret.

When Debbie, with an exaggerated and admiring tone, told her that the guild’s vice-president possessed a golden sword energy heroic spirit, Camit had scoffed, dismissing it entirely. She even thought she could crush this vice-president without summoning her strongest possessing heroic spirit. But now, the reality was like a harsh slap to her face.

At that moment, Ye Chui had just used the Bow of Crimson Lotus BGM, summoning the titan arm that slammed the three mages against the boulder. Camit, with difficulty, turned her head, just in time to see the three mages collapse like minced meat. Kom, one of the mages, was her lover, and her face was filled with fear.

When the five of them set out for Stan Town, they believed no one in the town could stand against them. This outcome was nothing short of a joke.

At Debbie’s request, Jiji, grasping Debbie’s shoulders, slowly lowered her to the ground, panting heavily, looking utterly exhausted.

Gilga also descended slowly from the air. In the thousands of years since becoming a heroic spirit, she rarely used her full power, mainly because her power source, gold coins, was so costly. Her face showed exhilaration but soon turned to extreme fatigue. Turning to Debbie, she said, “Miss Debbie, your gold coin balance is running low. Please replenish it soon.”

Debbie paused, glancing at Ye Chui, whose spellbook had already faded. She quickly pulled a purse from her pocket, took out a few gold coins scavenged from Jamil, and tossed them to Gilga.

“Ye Chui can’t access the dragon bloodstone right now, so make do with these for now. Once he recovers, I’ll get you plenty more.”

The gold coins turned into a golden mist around Gilga, merging into her body, slightly easing her tired expression.

Debbie hurried to Ye Chui’s side. The thorny vines summoned earlier by elven magic had withered, turning to black ash underfoot, harmless now.

“Ye Chui, are you okay?” Debbie asked. Leisha, Green, and the others also rushed to his side.

“I’m fine, just a bit knackered. Looks like I should go easy with this power in the future,” Ye Chui said with a smile, shaking his head.

Debbie wasn’t too surprised by Ye Chui’s cheat-like actions, as he had demonstrated the Bow of Crimson Lotus BGM to her before.

“Those three mages weren’t particularly strong, but their fusion magic was quite famous in Windrock City. You should feel honoured to have taken them down,” Kas sighed, marvelling at Ye Chui’s strength, considering he had only been an awakened mage for a little over two months.

The strongest of the five from Windrock City was likely Leon, whom Ye Chui had easily slain. While that seemed impressive, Ye Chui and Debbie’s performances were far more shocking.

“Little brother, let me heal your wounds,” Leisha said, beginning to chant scriptures to treat the scratches on Ye Chui’s leg caused by the thorns.

Soon, Ye Chui’s leg wounds healed, but Leisha’s chanting continued.

Green, quietly holding the exhausted Jiji (ahem…), noticed Leisha’s continued chanting and asked, puzzled, “Miss Leisha, what are you doing now?”

Leisha’s eyes followed the words in her Bible, but her finger pointed at the three mages lying nearby. “I promised to perform their last rites. As a nun, I can’t break my word. I said I’d do it, so I must.”

The three mages, collapsed in a heap, let out faint voices. “We, we’re not dead yet…”

“Huh? Not completely dead?” Leisha glanced at the three, whose bones were shattered beyond count, and waved her hand casually. “Doesn’t matter, I’m almost done with the scripture. Can’t waste it.”

“Wait, we… we can still be saved…”

“No discussion, I’m giving you your last rites!”

Leisha finished chanting the scripture, snapped her Bible shut, and waved her hand at the three mages.

Holy light descended from the sky, enveloping the three. Their souls, under the influence of the light, began to detach from their bodies, ascending to paradise. The three souls struggled, trying to return to their bodies, but the power of the rites was too strong. Amid faint screams, their souls were irresistibly pulled upward, disappearing with the holy light before everyone’s eyes.

“Phew,” Leisha exhaled, her face radiating compassion and serenity.

The others couldn’t help but shudder. Bloody hell, this nun forcibly sent them to their deaths with last rites? Can last rites even work like that?

By now, all five from Windrock City had been defeated by Stan Town, marking a complete fallout with Lord Kevin of Windrock City. They would now face the city’s wrath.

But clearly, Ye Chui and Debbie weren’t too concerned.

Kas looked at the devastated Emperor-Slaying Cliff, silent for a moment, before suddenly saying, “I’ve decided to go to Windrock City.”

The five from Windrock City had come to kill Kas, bringing news that Lord Kevin’s daughter, Windsor, was to marry the Fourth Prince. Kas had become the mayor of Stan Town to gain Lord Kevin’s approval to marry Windsor. He couldn’t accept this outcome.

What he intended to do in Windrock City was obvious.

“Alas, that’s too dangerous,” Old Merlin said, looking at Kas with a heavy tone. “You’ll need help.” He turned to Ye Chui, who was sitting on the ground, taking a piece of jerky from Green. “You’ll need the assistance of Stan Town’s strongest magic guild.”

Kas also looked at Ye Chui, smiled, and said earnestly, “Guildmaster Ye Chui, I personally hire your guild. This is a six-star mission to help me take back Windsor. It will be extremely dangerous, and you’ll face Lord Kevin’s wrath. Will you accept this mission?”

With Green’s help, Ye Chui stood up, exchanged a glance with Debbie, and smiled at Kas. “As the guildmaster of the Whatever Magic Guild, I accept this mission.”

Debbie added with a grin, “But the mission reward better be substantial.”
