Code Mage Chapter 151

The black ship continued to advance steadily along the Liangshui River, with Ye Chui standing at the bow against the wind, accompanied by the background music of “He’s a Pirate,” his eyes gazing toward the direction of Shengguang Forest with a hint of concern.

The ship had been travelling for over three hours, and by his estimation, it would reach its destination in about half an hour.

At that moment, his gaze fell back to the iPad magic book. He gracefully slid his finger across it with an orchid gesture, clearly influenced by Captain Jack. He was pleased to see that his remaining points had now reached five hundred.

As the ship moved through the river, numerous fish beasts lurked in the waters. Many were struck and killed by the ferocious ship, their point values negligible but still slowly adding to Ye Chui’s total.

Now, he had finally reached five hundred points.

This point value was sufficient for Ye Chui to unlock the game [Demon Seal].

He immediately opened the game library and unlocked [Demon Seal].

Ye Chui now understood that modified games were based on the events he encountered, offering benefits like clearance rewards and team-up functions.

Unlock, download, install!

A game icon with a devil pattern appeared on the screen of Ye Chui’s iPad magic book. He tapped it lightly with his finger.

The screen promptly switched to the game’s login interface.

Just like when he entered the [Ancestral Remains] game, scrolling subtitles appeared before Ye Chui’s eyes.

“Welcome to the world of [Demon Seal].

In this world, a terrifying devil is sealed. The residents of Shengguang Forest have worshipped the sacred stone sword for generations, but adventurers from outside have extended their greedy claws into the village.

The devil’s seal may soon be broken…

Game Objective One: Obtain the Golden Greatsword! Reward: Based on game performance, 2500 to 3500 points, one random draw.

Game Objective Two: Kill the Devil! Reward: Based on game performance, 3500 to 4500 points, one random draw, one free [Insight]!

Enjoy the game!”

Ye Chui’s eyes lit up with surprise at the rewards. There were two clearance rewards!

One was to obtain the Golden Greatsword, and the other was to kill the devil. If successful, he could earn two draws.

Most importantly, killing the devil would grant not only points and a draw but also a free [Insight].

Ye Chui roughly understood that [Insight] came in three types.

Random [Insight], Free [Insight], and Designated [Insight].

Random [Insight] cost one thousand points and randomly selected a movie or anime from Ye Chui’s resource library, with outcomes dependent on luck. It could yield powerful magical attributes or nothing at all.

Free [Insight], costing three thousand points, allowed [Insight] within a chosen movie or anime. Ye Chui had previously used Free [Insight] in *Terminator* to gain destructive magic attributes.

Designated [Insight] required five thousand points and allowed targeting a specific character in a movie or anime.

For example, Ye Chui’s [Insight] from *Terminator* derived destructive magic attributes from the protagonist T-800. However, in the series, T-1000, T-X, and later particle Terminators were far stronger. Since T-800 was the protagonist, Free [Insight] targeted it. With Designated [Insight], Ye Chui could choose T-1000 or T-X, potentially gaining abilities like body melting or weapon morphing.

However, five thousand points were currently uneconomical for Ye Chui, so he could only dream for now.

The game’s opening subtitles soon ended, and the screen transitioned to the main content.

At that moment, a peculiar animation began playing on the screen.

Ye Chui couldn’t help but exclaim, “Bloody hell, there’s an opening CG too?”

Though pixelated, the animation vaguely depicted a golden-haired girl wielding a greatsword battling a red devil.

“The battle between the Goddess of Wealth and the Red Devil,” Debbie, standing nearby, exclaimed.

“Yeah, shame the pixels are blurry, can’t see the fight clearly,” Ye Chui responded, then paused, looking at the girl. “What did you say?”

Others couldn’t see the iPad’s screen, so how did Debbie know?

At Ye Chui’s question, Debbie pointed to the sky, her face slightly tilted upward.

Everyone else on the ship was also staring skyward, captivated.

Ye Chui hurriedly looked up.

It was… a Time Shadow!

Time Shadows were common in the Relics of the Gods, but most were blurry and fragmented. The scene now before them was ultra-clear, 4K-level realism, like the Time Shadow Ye Chui and Debbie saw on Dragon Head Mountain.

“So clear. This is far clearer than any Time Shadow we’ve seen before,” the heroic spirit Godo exclaimed.

Previously, Time Shadows in Shengguang Forest were fleeting glimpses, but the sky now displayed the scene vividly: the Goddess of Wealth, wielding the Golden Greatsword, was locked in fierce combat with a red devil.

Watching the sky, Ye Chui felt a strange sensation. Like last time, the Time Shadow was unprecedentedly clear, as if displayed specifically for him. Others had only seen vague images before.

There was something fishy about this.

Pushing doubts aside, Ye Chui focused on the sky.

The Goddess of Wealth was as formidable as ever, her Golden Greatsword wielding unmatched power. The red devil opposing her seemed stronger than the one they’d encountered before, larger, with longer horns, matching her strength.

This was a god-level battle, the sky painted gold and blood-red.

Though silent, the ferocity was palpable.

The battle was at a stalemate.

Then, a tall figure emerged in the sky, holding a Bible.

Undoubtedly, this was Vivian, the Goddess of Faith, as Godo had mentioned.

Seeing her, Ye Chui blurted out, “Is that Reisa?”

“What?” The others looked at him, puzzled. Reisa asked, “Big brother, you’re mistaken. How do I resemble her?”

“Er, sorry, my mistake,” Ye Chui said sheepishly. On closer inspection, the Goddess of Faith’s appearance differed from Reisa’s, with different hair colour. But he couldn’t be blamed…

Good grief, their figures were strikingly similar.

The moment the… ahem, Goddess of Faith appeared, she recited scripture. The red devil, previously holding its own, was suddenly bound, thick chains wrapping around it, preventing escape.

Seeing this, the Goddess of Wealth raised her Golden Greatsword, ready to deliver a fatal blow.

Last time, she couldn’t kill the red devil, only seal it. But with the Goddess of Faith’s aid, she might succeed.

However, as her sword was about to fall, a pale blue light appeared, and a girl with long black hair stepped out.

A sixteen- or seventeen-year-old, her appearance cute yet noble.

Another goddess?

A third goddess!

“A third goddess?” Godo said, surprised. He hadn’t seen this before.

Ye Chui asked curiously, “Which goddess is this?”

Godo, Cass, Winsa, and others shook their heads, unfamiliar.

But…

“She’s the daughter of the God of Gods and the Goddess of Wealth, the Goddess of Fate, wielding the dual powers of time and eternity, controlling the river of destiny,” Debbie said, her eyes dazed.

Ye Chui looked at her. “What did you say?”

Debbie snapped out of it, looking confused. “Huh? Did I just say something?”

“?”

She didn’t know what she’d said?

At that moment, the Goddess of Fate spoke to the other goddesses. The Goddess of Wealth lowered her Golden Greatsword, and the Goddess of Faith opened her Bible, reciting scripture. Amid the red devil’s struggles and roars, she threw the Bible at it, and the devil plummeted to the earth, toward the forbidden land.

The Goddess of Wealth gently touched her Golden Greatsword and tossed it to the earth, landing in Shengguang Forest.

It seemed the Goddesses of Faith and Wealth could have killed the red devil, but the Goddess of Fate intervened, leading them to seal it instead, with the Goddess of Wealth leaving her sword behind.

After this, the three goddesses prepared to leave.

Other battles awaited them.

But as they turned to go, the Goddess of Fate in the sky looked down, her gaze falling on the Liangshui River’s ship, on Ye Chui.

Though a past Time Shadow, Ye Chui felt her eyes meeting his across five thousand years.

Panicked, he glanced at the others, but they seemed unaware of her gaze.

Silently, the Goddess of Fate’s lips moved.

In that moment, Ye Chui heard a distant voice: “I will always be watching you…”

The Time Shadow vanished.

The mirage-like scene lasted about twenty minutes.

Ye Chui noticed the opening animation of [Demon Seal] on his iPad had finished, pixelating the Time Shadow he’d seen. A thought struck him. Last time, after a Time Shadow, his magic book found related video footage, and he obtained a card to summon the Black Gold Flame Dragon.

This time…

[Chapter One: Land of the Buried Sword]

Following [Prologue: Dragon’s Fall], Ye Chui obtained a second video about the fall of the gods.

The twenty-minute video matched the Time Shadow from his perspective. Skimming it, at the end, he saw a card like Dragon Treasure’s, but depicting a Golden Greatsword.

“I can summon the Golden Greatsword?”
