Code Mage Chapter 182

The Double Happiness Wedding Celebration Song was not a particularly famous wedding tune. If listened to carefully, it could not be considered particularly pleasant either. However, it had one advantage that gave it an unparalleled edge in wedding settings, and that was its liveliness.

Indeed, this tune of resounding gongs and drums, crackling firecrackers, was a piece fusing multiple traditional Eastern wedding songs, including Joyful Sheep, General’s Victory Command, Dragon Boat Race, Golden Snake Frenzy Dance. All these elements were mashed together, with each segment incorporating the most climactic and festive parts from the others, then garnished with firecracker bursts, forming a super mishmash of a wedding song.

The creator of this song must have been a genius at weddings. Once unleashed, it shocked everyone present without fail. Compared to the Wedding March or Shattering the Sky, it made them step aside!

Ye Dui had heard this song once before at an elementary school teacher’s wedding. As it had not gained widespread popularity, he had spent considerable effort that morning in the blacksmith shop, while waiting for the greatsword to fuse, searching his resource library. Fortunately, he had finally found it.

Cass and Windsor were friends with whom he had shared hardships. Offering them the most shocking blessing was his duty.

At this moment, in the banquet hall of the Lord’s Mansion, Father Moin trembled as he stood up, opened the Bible, and joined the chanting ranks ahead of Ye Dui. After all, he was a bishop-level believer. With his addition, the entire banquet hall was suddenly shrouded in darkness.

It was midday, with bright sunshine outside, yet the banquet hall felt like the dead of night. Darkness accompanied by fear descended upon the place. The guests at the banquet panicked one after another. They found they could barely make out the faces of those beside them, and in the surrounding darkness, it seemed as if terrifying beasts lurked, baring fangs and claws in ambush, ready to launch a dreadful assault.

But this terrifying vision did not last long.

Ye Dui’s “Double Happiness Wedding Song” followed immediately, with traditional Eastern opera instruments conveying a joyous, exuberant accompaniment, punctuated by those bursts of firecracker sounds. Those firecrackers were not just auditory, as sparks of firecrackers flashed continuously in the darkness around Cass, Windsor, Ye Dui, and Debbie, crackling and interlacing with the melody, the sounds and lights dispelling the gloom.

In Eastern traditions, firecrackers were originally imbued with the meaning of warding off evil spirits, and manifested through Ye Dui’s BGM, they possessed the same special effect: the darkness receded rapidly, leaving the evil spirits hiding within exposed!

When the darkness fell, Cass and Windsor showed a flicker of astonishment on their faces, but with Ye Dui’s BGM, their expressions quickly calmed. They gripped each other’s hands tightly and continued advancing towards the end of the red carpet.

The guests around also recovered from their earlier panic. They could tell that the BGM Ye Dui was now playing was in a completely different style from the previous one, yet that joyous music instinctively evoked the joy and happiness of a wedding, making their moods lighten involuntarily. This wedding was destined to become a legend in the future!

Cass and Windsor had already traversed three-quarters of the red carpet. My God, someone was actually withstanding the “Wedding Blessing Chapters” chanted jointly by fifty believers including a bishop father!

Lord Kevin’s face twitched slightly as he watched his daughter with concern. Though he did not like Cass and had even tried to kill him several times before, for his daughter, he held the profound love of an old father. Her happiness was his greatest wish. Now, he only hoped Windsor and Cass could safely cross the red carpet. With the ceremony nearly complete, his heart filled with wild joy.

However, he glanced sideways at Father Moin, who was chanting. He knew Father Moin would not end it like this. More terrifying trials lay ahead!

Prince Geller leaned back in the central seat. A faint smile played on his aged face. Because of his position, he could not interfere too much in Cass and Windsor’s wedding, but fortunately, there was the astonishing young fellow Ye Dui. The current situation already satisfied him greatly, but it was not enough yet. He wondered what surprises Ye Dui would bring next?

“Ah!” A believer suddenly cried out in alarm. The pages of the Bible flew everywhere as the one he held exploded outright!

Then a priestess, with a cry of surprise followed by a firecracker burst, saw her Bible turn into a flurry of paper pages.

One after another, more and more believers and priestesses had their Bibles explode.

Their joint chanting was inevitably interrupted, descending into chaos.

“Pop!” A firecracker burst above Father Moin’s grimoire, startling him into a shudder. However, the Bible in his hands was no ordinary one and suffered no damage. Still, Father Moin felt a surge of humiliation. His face twitched, and his mouth fell silent.

The banquet hall was instantly filled only with the joyous wedding song emanating from Ye Dui’s iPad grimoire.

Chanting the Wedding Blessing Chapters was not the forte of the believers and priestesses. Using this chapter for attack also failed to showcase their strength. Yet, so many of them had been defeated by the strange sounds from Ye Dui’s iPad. This was the humiliation of them all!

Now, Cass and Windsor had reached the end of the red carpet, about to take the final step. Once that step was taken, the ceremony would be complete, signifying that God had acknowledged their love!

“Hmph!” Father Moin’s face turned icy. He absolutely could not allow such a scene!

He flipped the pages again and began chanting softly from a certain chapter. This time, no other believers or priestesses joined him, for the chapter Father Moin now chanted could only be controlled by bishop-level believers. Ordinary believers and priestesses could not even sense the power within this scripture.

“This is…” Lessa, watching from the side, trembled involuntarily, her face full of horror. “The Necromancy Summoning Chapter!”

“Miss Lessa, what is that?” Green was stunned and asked hurriedly.

Guni also looked at Lessa curiously and pulled an apple from her bosom collar to munch on. This fruit, absent from the Holy Light Forest, tasted delicious to her. Earlier in the side room, she had eaten several and even stashed a few on her person.

“In the Bible, there are fifty-two chapters in total, each divided into several parts. Some chapters include the Necromancy Summoning Chapter. The Necromancy Summoning Chapter within the Wedding Blessing Chapters summons the undead tormented to death by this chapter. They harbour the greatest hatred towards those with love and will drag them into the endless dark hell together.”

As Lessa explained, decayed arms suddenly protruded from beneath Cass and Windsor’s feet. Windsor cried out instinctively, and Cass hurriedly pulled his beloved into his embrace.

Arms also emerged beneath Ye Dui and Debbie’s feet. Their faces paled, and they panicked, jumping to dodge the arms.

The arms appeared semi-transparent yet felt solid, and behind them, undead corpses crawled ceaselessly from the ground. In the banquet hall, the guests fell into panic once more. Some fled towards the hall’s exit in blind terror. These were the undead cursed by the wedding!

Even Ye Dui’s wedding song had no effect on them. They held the greatest malice towards the wedding guests, and especially towards those in love. Some undead began harassing the fleeing guests, but more swarmed around Cass and Windsor, tugging at them and emitting hoarse, terrifying whispers, intent on dragging them into that dark murmur.

“Father Moin, you have gone mad!” Lord Kevin could endure no more and glared coldly at Father Moin.

The father merely glanced at Lord Kevin and continued chanting without pause. A smile curled at his lips as his eyes fixed on Ye Dui, who was dodging undead while holding Debbie’s hand: Little one, let’s see what tricks you have left!

“Ye Dui, what do we do…” Debbie shouted to Ye Dui in some panic. “Should I summon Jiji?”

Jiji’s divine power could deal with these undead!

“In front of so many believers and priestesses, it’s best not to let Jiji appear. Moreover, these undead seem endless. Even Jiji could not oppose them all…” Ye Dui said hurriedly. His hand was flipping through the iPad grimoire. As he raised his gaze, it met Father Moin’s. Seeing the father’s smile, Ye Dui smiled back.

“Summoning the undead? Then I’ll give you a Grave Dancing Disco!”

Enter the Pure Land of Bliss!

The wedding song’s music stopped abruptly. The Pure Land of Bliss BGM, which Ye Dui had unlocked long ago, blared at full power.

The first time Ye Dui used this BGM was against dark believers. Facing the swarming “tormented undead,” Ye Dui unlocked this BGM. Under its highly rhythmic, upbeat music, the undead became involuntarily infected, brainwashed as if compelled to dance, then purified. The effect of Pure Land of Bliss was undead purification!

Now, as a mid-level magic tutor, Ye Dui’s magic reserves had greatly increased, and the BGM’s effects were further enhanced. The power of his Pure Land of Bliss would be even stronger!

Soon, the upbeat music resounded.

Yet another melody unheard by all present. Those grotesquely featured undead, under the melody’s influence, began to tremble. The tremors gradually turned into dances. Involuntarily guided by the melody, they started dancing. The music’s rhythm was very distinct, and the countless undead’s movements were remarkably synchronised.

Ye Dui’s head bobbed slightly to the rhythm. Proud as he was, how could he dance along to this rhythmic divine tune? Though Lessa had said that joining in would trigger a “war dance” effect, greatly amplifying the BGM’s power, that intense shame prevented him from doing so.

With the earlier emergence of myriad undead, many guests had been terrified out of their wits, and those with weak wills had suffered greatly. Now, with the music and the dancing undead, these guests also began to move involuntarily, clumsily mimicking the undead’s dance steps.

More undead kept being summoned, but they soon joined the dance as well.

Some undead faded and vanished after one dance, their resentments dissipated, souls purified. The vast banquet hall instantly transformed into a square dance scene atop graves.

Father Moin’s voice began to tremble. His eyes widened enormously. Even at over eighty years old, he had never witnessed such a wondrous sight. What in the world was this!?

“Pfft.”

Whether from exhaustion or rage, Father Moin suddenly spat a mouthful of old blood and collapsed back into his seat with a thud.

The chanting ended, and the myriad undead vanished!

Yet in the banquet hall, a few affected individuals still swayed their bodies, the brainwashing divine tune’s melody continuing to echo.

Cass and Windsor looked at Ye Dui gratefully. Together, they took the final step across the red carpet!
