Code Mage Chapter 338

Green withdrew his hand holding the brick from the spatial teleport, glanced at the Invincible Priest twitching on the ground with one leg jerking, swept a hand over his bald head, and turned to Ye Dui with an innocent look. “President, does this count as me defeating him?”

Ye Dui: “…”

Posley said somewhat helplessly, “This is nothing like what I imagined…”

“Not bad, not bad. Green, your brick work is getting better and better,” Daibi praised happily, hands on her hips.

Green chuckled. He looked at the fallen Invincible Priest, thought for a moment, and prepared to go up for two more bricks. But at that instant, Ye Dui exclaimed, “Watch out!”

The next moment, the Invincible Priest erupted from the ground, his fist slamming towards Green.

Green’s body trembled, but his reflexes had long been honed far beyond his former self. Sensing the danger abruptly, a patch of blue teleportation appeared instantly before him. The Invincible Priest’s fist thus plunged into that teleport, and another blue glow emerged behind the Invincible Priest. His fist burst out from it, striking his own back hard.

Being hit in the back by one’s own fist was a rare opportunity for anyone. The Invincible Priest’s face changed, a muffled grunt escaping his lips. Green immediately prepared to retract the spatial teleport; if it vanished, the Invincible Priest’s arm would be severed entirely by the teleport.

But the Invincible Priest seemed to know what it was. He yanked his arm back in an instant. With a bang, as the arm withdrew, a powerful aura emanated from him, sending Green’s body flying backwards, crashing heavily to the ground.

Compared to the Invincible Priest, Green’s strength was still lacking.

When the Invincible Priest had fallen, Ye Dui had still been checking his status. Though temporarily stunned, his score kept rising steadily, breaking past 500 from the initial 100, the number still surging wildly. Green’s brick could not possibly knock him out completely.

Seeing Green flung away and sprawled on the ground, the Invincible Priest let out a roar and charged forward, his massive fist about to descend on Green. Ye Dui hurriedly blocked in front of Green. His right arm instantly enlarged, becoming a Hulk arm, intercepting the Invincible Priest’s terrifying punch. Bang, a dull thud echoed. Ye Dui’s feet smashed two large pits into the้’ stone floor, his simple animal skin shoes shattering. The arm that turned into the Hulk’s felt a surge of numbness.

He looked at the Invincible Priest in surprise and found that the man’s body was now undergoing a bizarre transformation. His body began to swell continuously, a layer of scale-like armour emerging on the surface. Spikes grew at the arm joints, shoulders, and other spots. His face also changed, becoming ferocious and ugly, like a beast. The pupils in his eyes turned vertical, horns sprouted from his forehead, and sharp fangs appeared in his mouth.

“This appearance…” Daibi suddenly thought of something, quickly glancing at the spirit god statues on the side. Now the Invincible Priest’s look closely resembled one of the statues! Daibi shouted, “He is borrowing the spirit god’s power!”

“No, not borrowing, but possession!” The Invincible Priest’s voice now sounded incredibly hoarse and grating. While clashing with Ye Dui’s Hulk arm, he said, “The spirit gods in the secret realm world are an advanced form of undead. They are too powerful to possess ordinary humans directly and can only lend power to humans. But among these spirit gods, there is one exception: the beast spirit god. The beast spirit god does not need prince bloodline to choose a possession host directly. Every generation of Invincible Priest is the beast spirit god’s possession host. The Invincible Priest fully empowered by the beast spirit god is absolutely invincible in the secret realm world. In other words, you all must die here today!”

With those words, his fist clashing with Ye Dui’s separated instantly. His body leaped forcefully, landing far away.

The Invincible Priest had now fully transformed into a humanoid beast. Terrifying bone spikes protruded from his body, his height exceeding two metres, his appearance indescribably ferocious and fearsome. His eyes swept coldly over the group before him, his mouth splitting open as if in mocking laughter.

“So that’s it. No wonder your power kept rising; it was because the beast spirit god was gradually possessing you.” Ye Dui realised suddenly, shaking his somewhat numb arm. He glanced at his grimoire; the Invincible Priest’s score had now surpassed a thousand.

Excitement flickered in Ye Dui’s eyes. He could not help laughing. “Very good, excellent. Next, it is my turn…”

“Wait a moment.”

Posley suddenly stepped forward, blocking Ye Dui. “How can you cheat? We agreed earlier. I won second in rock-paper-scissors, so it is my turn now.”

Ye Dui: “…”

Xilaisi and Daibi had helped Green up. Watching Posley and Ye Dui argue, Green felt a wave of bitterness in his heart.

Ye Dui smiled at Posley. “Let me try. You are strong, but you might not necessarily beat him.”

“Hmph, I have not even used my full power. How do you know I cannot beat him?” Posley said unhappily, pushing Ye Dui’s shoulder. “Step back. The power of a phase king mage is beyond what you imagine. This fellow is perfect for me to familiarise myself with my strength.”

The Invincible Priest, sidelined: “…”

He let out an angry roar, as if sensing endless contempt from Ye Dui and Posley. With successive bellows, he charged like a starving wolf on the hunt, landing on all fours, leaving terrifying gouges in the stone floor. He rushed forward at blinding speed, his split maw now roaring deafeningly.

Posley turned her head coldly, a faint smile on her lips, and raised one arm.

Advanced ice spell [Divine Mirror]

As Posley raised her arm, a massive ice mirror appeared before her, blocking the Invincible Priest. The mirror reflected his figure. The Invincible Priest punched at the ice mirror, so the one in the mirror punched too. Boom, the two fists collided. With a crash, the ice mirror shattered, and the Invincible Priest cried out, his body tumbling backwards.

That ice mirror not only reflected his figure but also his attack and power.

And it was not over. As the Invincible Priest tumbled back, before landing, the ice mirror reappeared abruptly before him. But the mirror did not show his tumbling figure; it repeated the earlier scene of him charging and punching.

The him in the mirror’s fist landed on him, as if he had struck himself with full force. He could not help another muffled grunt, his backward tumble intensifying.

Crash, the ice mirror shattered again.

A third ice mirror appeared before him, still showing that earlier attacking punch.

Crashโ€”

Fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh.

The Invincible Priest’s body had slammed heavily into the wall. Unable to retreat further, ice mirrors kept appearing before him. He endured repeated blows from his own power’s fists. The wall behind him had caved in, forming a large pit, his body nearly embedded in it.

The [Divine Mirror] spell could rebound attacks, not just once, but consecutively seven times.

This spell was not from the ice queen series.

Posley turned and smiled at Ye Dui, as if saying, dare you try learning this spell of mine?

Ye Dui’s expression was odd, though, because the spell felt familiar… like a move from a boss in a street arcade game last life. Thinking of it, his face lit up with slight excitement as he asked, “Does this move have any relation to the god of gods?”

Posley’s expression froze, a touch of defeat in her voice. “You recognised it? Yes, this spell was originally created by the omniscient and omnipotent god of gods, later re-enlightened by a predecessor in the heavenly maiden phase grimoire.”

“As expected…” Ye Dui thought to himself. Was his transmigrator predecessor also a King of Fighters fan? He smiled. “I do not need to learn yours. I can create this spell myself, and guarantee it is the pure original flavour.”

Posley: “…”

The Invincible Priest had taken considerable damage but not lost his ability to move. Now he roared from the wall, crawling out and lunging at Posley with another howl.

“So, can you learn this spell?” Posley said, as if refusing to concede. She raised both arms. As they lifted, the temperature in the entire stone room plummeted below freezing. A layer of ice crystals rapidly covered every corner, even a thin crust forming on the spirit god statues.

Super ice spell [Frozen Domain]

Ye Dui instinctively hugged his arms. Looking at Posley, he saw her body had become an ice sculpture, or rather an ice person. Every part of her seemed carved fromๅฏ’ ice, presenting a faint้’ hue.

With this spell’s casting, she had transformed into aๅฏ’ ice sculpture herself.

The Invincible Priest pounced, instantly heading towards Posley’s position, but she had vanished. Now she was ice, so her body merged into the ice crystals covering the room. The next moment, she emerged from a corner.

It was not teleportation but a complete transformation of her body’s composition, fusing with and detaching from the room’s ice crystals.

She raised a hand, and sharp, sword-like ice spikes immediately erupted from the ground, piercing the Invincible Priest’s tough body.

The Invincible Priest roared in fury, snapping the ice spikes on him, blood splattering as he continued lunging at Posley. But the next instant, Posley vanished again. She appeared to the Invincible Priest’s east, west, south, northโ€”four ice forms of Posley carrying endlessๅฏ’ intent, gazing at him.

Beside Ye Dui, a fifth Posley slowly rose from the ground, saying coldly and arrogantly to him, “Can you learn this spell?”

“…”

Ye Dui was stunned speechless.

Such a spell, he could of course directly download via lightning bolt and claim it, but he could not use it.

In magic cultivation, junior mages master basic and junior spells, intermediate mages wield stronger mid and advanced ones, while advanced mages have deeper understanding of magic elements, able to create spells unique to themselves.

Yet, just as there was a swordmaster realm above swordsman, there was another major realm above mage.

In that major realm, mages could fuse themselves with magic elements, becoming the elements themselves, ethereal elemental existences. Like the spell Posley now used, turning herself into ice magic element, transforming the stone room into her frozen domain. In this domain, she was omnipresent, able to manifest in myriad forms.

This surpassed the advanced mage realm, a stronger domain.

Ye Dui was currently only an advanced mage. The realm’s limits prevented him from using this spell now.

Posley was a phase king mage, but she had awakened just three days ago. In those three days, as she grew familiar step by step with her grimoire, her power strengthened unceasingly. The realm barrier that other mages might never cross, she passed silently. Now, she was probably several times stronger than at her initial awakening.
