Code Mage Chapter 369

The BGM that Ye Chui played was an extraordinarily unique track. Taken purely as music, it was actually quite catchy and rhythmic. But when paired with its music video, anyone watching for the first time would inevitably spit blood. A group of burly, seductive men twisting their hips and striking provocative poses could utterly shatter the viewer’s psychological defences…

The title of “anti-lust divine anthem” was well-deserved.

Ye Chui’s BGM function infinitely amplified whatever emotional effects a song could produce. Hot-blooded tracks granted courage buffs, high-energy songs boosted specific abilities, and the effect of this “Hop” was to forcibly drag the listener into sage mode.

In truth, the power of the Original Sin of Lust was not limited to heterosexual desire. Same-sex attraction fell equally within its domain. After all, love between people of the same sex existed in every era and every world. As long as desire existed in the heart, Original Sin could exploit it.

Yet the love expressed by the Bulgarian Demon King had already transcended the boundaries of era and gender. It was a non-human love that went beyond both heterosexuality and homosexuality, a realm so extreme that even the most hardened “brother” would vomit blood at the sight.

Under the protection of this divine track, Ye Chui had originally been wracked with unbearable discomfort from the assault of Original Sin. His body had felt on fire and his concentration had nearly collapsed. But now his mind was crystal clear. All flames of desire had been completely extinguished. He slowly rose from his crouch.

In stark contrast, the Original Sin of Lust was suffering terribly. The demonic sound pierced its ears, causing excruciating pain. Its power encompassed every form of lust in the world, yet the desire woven into this divine track far exceeded what it could withstand. That surreal melody, accompanied by hallucinatory visions of seductive burly men, relentlessly assaulted its spirit. Pfft. It could not help spitting out another great mouthful of blood.

Five years of accumulation had granted it terrifying strength, but Ye Chui’s demonic sound was the perfect counter to that power. Cracks began spreading across its once-perfect face. Its expression twisted in agony.

“This is impossible. How can there exist… lust in this world capable of harming me? Impossible. How is this possible…”

Amidst these disbelieving mutters, the body of the Original Sin of Lust finally shattered completely. From the crimson mist, a slender figure slowly toppled towards the ground. Ye Chui instantly appeared beside her and caught her in his arms. It was Honeygo.

The Original Sin of Lust had been utterly defeated and expelled from Honeygo’s body. She was extremely weak now, but still alive. Relief washed over Ye Chui. If Honeygo had truly died like this, he would not have known how to face the Third Prince. This outcome could not have been better. He hurriedly cast light magic, enveloping Honeygo in gentle radiance to heal her wounds.

At the same time he surveyed the surroundings. The red mist still lingered everywhere. Apart from himself, all the dark believers in the chamber were dead, but the blood magic array on the floor continued flashing with red light, its power undiminished.

This array must have cost the Church and the Cullin family enormous effort to construct. It had to be destroyed, or they would surely try to summon the Original Sin of Lust again.

With that thought, Ye Chui waved his hand and used a wind spell to gently carry Honeygo up to the entrance above. He shouted, “Take care of her! I will find a way to destroy this place!”

Seeing Honeygo being delivered upward, Grean quickly used spatial magic to pull her safely onto the ledge. Debbie immediately noticed that Honeygo’s clothes had been reduced to tatters, first by possession and then by Ye Chui’s indiscriminate bombardment. When she saw Grean reaching out to catch her, Debbie hastily shoved him aside and caught Honeygo herself.

Although Grean was usually well-behaved back at the castle, as the oldest male member of the guild (actually only twenty-one) and a long-time bachelor nursing certain inner imbalances, Debbie and Resha had long ago realised he sometimes gave girls very strange looks without realising it. Seeing Honeygo in this state, there was no way Debbie would let Grean touch her.

After quickly checking Honeygo’s injuries, Debbie told Grean, “Get some of Ye Chui’s clothes out of storage space and give them to her first.”

“Right, got it.” Grean hurriedly pulled out one of Ye Chui’s magic robes and handed it to Debbie. His eyes flicked across Honeygo for the briefest moment before calmly looking away, his expression as placid as still water, as though he felt not the slightest interest in her current appearance.

While helping Honeygo into the robe, Debbie glanced curiously at Grean. She could not resist asking, “Grean actually didn’t sneak a peek!”

“Miss Debbie, what kind of talk is that? Do I really seem that deplorable in your eyes?” Grean replied unhappily.

Debbie and Guni exchanged a look, then nodded at Grean in unison. “Yes. Back in the death realm when Ye Chui created those beautiful spirit constructs, you were practically ready to throw yourself at them.”

“…”

Grean’s face froze. Then he shook his head.

“Fine. But the current me is no longer like that. After hearing the BGM the boss just played, I feel completely desireless and detached. I’m no longer interested in such things. Pursuing strength is what truly matters. Romance and all that is just trivial.” Sage Grean spoke in a calm, ethereal tone.

Debbie and Guni stared at him in astonishment.

Ye Chui’s anti-lust divine track affected everyone, but the more lustful thoughts one harboured to begin with, the stronger the impact. Debbie only had vague budding feelings, and Guni was essentially still a child, so the effect on them was negligible. Grean, however, had now attained the serene enlightenment of a monk, his bald head gleaming with purity.

Thus was born… the Brick Monk.

Ye Chui transformed into a swarm of bats, flew up from the underground chamber, and reformed beside them. He said to the group, “Let’s get out of here fast. I cast [Explosion is Justice] down there. In a few seconds it will detonate and this whole place will be completely destroyed.”

Debbie, Guni, and Grean nodded quickly. Grean hoisted Honeygo onto his back, and they all ran outside. There were still quite a few people left inside the Dome Palace. Their original plan had been to act discreetly, which was why Debbie, Guni, and Grean had come in disguise. Seeing the remaining people outside, Ye Chui simply blasted a hole through one wall of the palace, letting Debbie and the others escape that way first while he stayed behind to drive everyone else out.

After Debbie and the others had left, Ye Chui flipped through his grimoire. A cold smile appeared on his face. Then he unlocked another divine track: Restless Heart (Tan Te).

Accompanied by a woman’s piercing “aiyaya” shrieks, the amplification effect contained within this divine song, tension and unease, instantly swept through the entire Dome Palace.

Lady Rose, as manager of the Dome Palace, had been pacing back and forth in extreme anxiety after intruders arrived clearly targeting the great secret hidden here. She had already sent word to the city guard stationed near Mole Forest, but the Cullin-controlled troops had yet to arrive. Her heart had been filled with indescribable tension and worry.

Then the demonic sound suddenly rang out. Lady Rose felt her nerves stretch to breaking point. Her body even began trembling uncontrollably. She looked around in terror, her mind on the verge of collapse. With a few miserable screams she fled the premises in panic.

Seeing her run, none of the servants or guards dared linger either. They all scrambled frantically to escape…

Outside Mole Forest, a contingent of city guards had already assembled.

The city guard was responsible for protecting the imperial capital. Though far inferior to the Imperial Guard or Black Armoured troops, it was still a force to be reckoned with. The city guard had always been under the Third Prince’s control, or rather, under the Cullin family’s control. One detachment was permanently stationed outside Mole Forest to guard against accidents at the Dome Palace.

Upon receiving Lady Rose’s message, the detachment prepared to move out, but the Third Prince suddenly appeared and blocked their path.

The young swordsman leading the detachment was a Cullin family member who usually treated the Third Prince with arrogance thanks to family backing. Seeing the prince obstructing them now, he immediately began mocking him and told him to step aside. The next moment the Third Prince cut him down with a single stroke.

Though this young swordsman was not particularly important within the Cullin family, the Third Prince killing him signified a complete break with the family.

“It seems that in the secret realm, you truly did reach some agreement with Ye Chui.” Soon the Cullin patriarch, the Third Prince’s grandfather, arrived after being informed. He glanced at the dead clansman on the ground and spoke coldly to the prince. “I am merely curious what promise Ye Chui made that caused you to betray our family.”

“You know very well what it was. The only person who can save Honeygo from your clutches is him.” Facing his grandfather, the Third Prince could not help feeling nervous. His voice trembled slightly.

“If you become emperor, I promised I would free Honeygo from her fate as a sacrifice.” The patriarch said icily.

“I don’t believe your promise.” The Third Prince shook his head.

“Then you believe Ye Chui can save her?” The patriarch sneered. “Do you even know what the altar beneath the Dome Palace summoned? One of the Seven Original Sins, a demonic entity that existed since ancient times. Even now its power is incomplete, but a mere Ye Chui cannot possibly stand against it. Your uncle Caesar presided over that array. He is a genius of the Cullin family, a future candidate for red-robed archbishop. Even without relying on the Original Sin he alone could deal with Ye Chui. You backed the wrong person. By now Ye Chui has probably been completely devoured by Original Sin. That is not a power ordinary humans can oppose!”

“You are wrong. And you will pay the price for being wrong!”

The patriarch’s voice grew louder and more impassioned, his emotions rising to a peak.

Then, just as his tone and fury reached their climax, a tremendous boom shook the earth. Everyone instinctively turned towards Mole Forest. In the darkness, the magnificent Dome Palace visibly collapsed, as though it had vanished into thin air.

Countless panicked people fled through Mole Forest, their screams merging into a continuous wail.

Amidst the noise, the patriarch’s face, still fixed in an expression of righteous indignation, froze solid. The look was utterly… comical.

The Third Prince glanced towards Mole Forest. The tension on his face eased slightly. He turned to his grandfather, his voice no longer trembling but laced with subtle mockery.

“That is why… I believe him.”

The earthquake from the explosion in Mole Forest shocked the entire imperial capital.

After leaving Ye Chui’s castle earlier, Prince Gale had returned to the palace to discuss certain matters secretly with the aged emperor before finally dragging his weary body back to his mansion. He had only just lain down and was drifting towards sleep when the terrifying tremor jolted him awake again.

Moments later, his personal guard reported what had occurred.

Prince Gale’s expression became an indescribable mixture of strangeness and rage.

“A horrific battle in Mole Forest, and the Dome Palace was directly blown flat? That style of attack has to be their doing!”

Though there was no evidence linking the explosion to Ye Chui, Prince Gale had no doubt whatsoever that Ye Chui and his people were responsible. Only…

“Why the hell would they blow up a brothel in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?”
