Code Mage Chapter 389

The naming sense of the God of Gods back then was clearly abysmal. Since the dragon was called Dragon Treasure, naming a Chaos Giant Turtle “Turtle Treasure” was, in the end, perfectly acceptable.

The portal linking to the secret realm was successfully constructed. A massive circular spatial gate floated in the air, its base formed by intricate magic arrays etched into the ground by Ye Chong. After becoming a high-level archmage, one gained far deeper insight into magical principles. Although Ye Chong’s archmage realm had been upgraded via his iPad, he still possessed profound understanding across all magical systems, enough to build a large-scale teleportation gate.

Through the portal, the scenery on the other side of the secret realm was visible. It opened directly beneath the Elven Divine Tree. Ye Chong could see the Sand People and, among them, the Sixth Prince. Before the duel, he had already built another portal inside the castle connecting to the secret realm. He had informed the Sand People of what might happen, so they were waiting there.

Moreover, the portal in the church that led to the secret realm could only be activated through Celtic, and its rules were entirely under her control. Now that Ye Chong had opened a new door, the church’s gate would never open again. The only way to reach the secret realm was through him.

Dragon Treasure herded the surviving magical beasts of the Beast Garden toward the secret realm.

With the Beast Garden world on the verge of collapse, everyone could enter the secret realm together and use it as a transit point to return to the outside world.

Countless magical beasts, low-tier and high-tier alike, were driven through the portal into that unfamiliar yet safe world. The Sand People, who already regarded Ye Chong as their leader, waited on the other side to receive them. The secret realm was vast and immense. Originally filled with desert, it had been transformed into paradise as the Elven Divine Tree grew, covering the sands in green. There was now more than enough space for all the beasts to live safely and multiply.

The Beast Garden world continued to crumble.

The gigantic portal constantly drained Ye Chong’s mana.

Sweat already beaded across his forehead.

Celtic’s head was currently cradled in little Turtle Treasure’s arms. She still wore an elder’s warm, concerned expression while asking about Turtle Treasure’s experiences over the years. This made Ye Chong feel a twinge of regret. Judging by Turtle Treasure’s attitude, she clearly held Celtic in extremely high esteem. If she had known earlier that Ye Chong possessed Celtic’s head, she might have willingly formed a friendly relationship with him, perhaps even handing over management rights to all the Beast Garden’s beasts without a fight.

Yet she only learned this after being beaten, bled, and forcibly demoted. Ye Chong had needlessly lost the chance to gain a peak ninth-rank companion.

Still, a peak ninth-rank magical beast was too dangerous in the outside world. Due to the laws, her overwhelming power could trigger backlash at any moment. After dropping to seventh rank, her strength was greatly reduced, but she could now move freely without worry.

A seventh-rank magical beast was still an apex existence that turned heads wherever it went.

During all this, Ye Chong suddenly grew intensely curious about the God of Gods. He really wanted to know what kind of person this senior transmigrator was, the one who came up with names like “Dragon Treasure” and “Turtle Treasure”.

Most importantly, Ye Chong realised he still did not know the senior’s true name. He had only ever called him the God of Gods or the Omnipotent Mage. So he asked curiously, “Celtic, you keep mentioning the God of Gods. What was his real name? He couldn’t actually have been called Omnipotent Mage or God of Gods his whole life, right?”

Boslily, who was using ice magic to stabilise the portal, also looked over with interest.

Celtic, however, wore a puzzled expression. “The God of Gods’ name… I’ve forgotten it.”

“Forgotten!?” Ye Chong was stunned. How could anyone forget the name of someone so important?

Turtle Treasure explained, “It’s not that Lady Celtic forgot. The God of Gods’ name was sealed. No one can remember it.”

Dragon Treasure nodded vigorously in confirmation. “That’s right, that’s right. Those devils wanted to completely erase Master’s existence, so they sealed everything about him, even his name. All that remains is left is an empty title.”

As he spoke, Dragon Treasure, still wearing his leaf loincloth, tried to sidle closer to Turtle Treasure, only to receive a fierce glare that sent him scurrying away again.

Ye Chong fell into thought.

Celtic continued, “The God of Gods cannot be killed. He is the only person ever blessed by the Creation Deity: immortal, omniscient, omnipotent. How could he be killed? In truth, I don’t believe those devils fully sealed him either. He must have left some contingency, waiting for the day the seal is broken. When that day comes, the divine clan will reclaim its glory.”

As she spoke, Celtic glanced sideways at Ye Chong.

There was no doubt. If the God of Gods had left any contingency, it was definitely connected to the young man before her. Ye Chong’s grimoire possessed divine power. Every adventure since his debut had been deeply tied to the divine clan members: Dragon Treasure, the Goddess of Wealth, the Goddess of Faith, the God of Puppets, the Elven Goddess, and now herself, the Headless Goddess… Ye Chong’s very existence was inextricably linked to the God of Gods!

But to bring the God of Gods back, they would first have to recover his true name…

Boslily listened silently to their conversation.

She too had once been curious about the God of Gods and read many records stored in the Magic Guild archives. She knew his name had been sealed. Although the Magic Guild and the Church were separate organisations, both ultimately served the “devils” Ye Chong spoke of…

Though she had now chosen to ally with Ye Chong, she had a premonition. When the day came that everything revolved around resurrecting the God of Gods, they might become true enemies…

Boslily quickly shook her head. Those matters were still far off. For now, she needed Ye Chong’s help, and he needed hers. Future problems could wait.

The herds of magical beasts streamed through the portal. The boundaries of the Beast Garden world had already begun collapsing. Bolts of lightning flickered across the sky. Massive fireballs like falling meteors crashed down. Trees withered, the air filled with smoke and the thick stench of doomsday desolation. Ordinary animals and even some low-tier magical beasts went mad with panic.

Turtle Treasure gazed at this crumbling world with a forlorn expression, a hint of sadness shimmering in her large eyes.

This world she had built and slumbered in for five thousand years would soon cease to exist.

Yet… the future did not seem entirely bleak.

The outside world had already descended into complete chaos.

The portal to the Beast Garden world had closed. The Beast God was enraged. No one had expected the duel to end like this. Of course, some people secretly breathed sighs of relief. For example, President Farley of the Dragon Battle Magic Guild. With Ye Chong dead, the Casually Named Magic Guild would surely decline. Exactly what he wanted.

The Church faction, however, was furious to the point of madness. Black-Robed Attendant especially seized Patriarch Joreis by the collar, lightning crackling around him as he demanded to know if there was any other way to open the Beast Garden.

Prince Galler stood coldly to the side. From the expressions of Debbie and the others, he could tell Ye Chong had a backup plan and would be fine. But the urgency was real. Most importantly, if the Beast God flew into a rage and permanently sealed the Beast Garden, cutting off magical beast production, the Star Empire’s military power would suffer.

Events had spiralled beyond anyone’s imagination.

“I… I can still contact the Beast God…” Patriarch Joreis, utterly drained, said weakly.

“How?” Prince Galler demanded.

“There is a statue enshrined in the Beast God Temple. Through it, I can communicate with the Beast God…” Joreis hurriedly explained.

The Beast God Temple was forbidden ground of the Joreis family. Only the patriarch and a few key members were allowed entry. Through the statue, the patriarch could exchange limited words with the Beast God and offer tributes.

Soon, a crowd gathered inside the Beast God Temple.

Black-Robed Attendant, Krian, Prince Galler, various nobles great and small, the Third Prince, the Fifth Prince, Jacob, Dani, Silas… Hmm? Prince Galler quietly noticed that at some point Debbie, Green, Resha, Guni, and the others had slipped away.

Though called a temple, the place was merely a small stone hut. Bright beast-oil lamps illuminated racks of magical beast bones. At the very back stood an exquisitely carved stone statue of the demonic turtle, its head extended majestically, gazing coldly and imperiously at all who entered.

“Hurry and make contact. No matter what, Boslily’s safety must be ensured, or you will face the Magic Guild’s wrath!” Black-Robed Attendant threatened.

Patriarch Joreis collapsed to the floor, drenched in sweat. He frantically began the familiar prayer, hoping to link his will to the Beast God through the statue. His mind was in turmoil. The prayer he knew by heart kept coming out wrong no matter how many times he tried.

He wiped his forehead with his sleeve and pinched his own cheek hard, hoping pain would clear his head.

Then, a faint crack.

Everyone in the stone chamber heard it.

All eyes turned to the demonic turtle statue.

A hairline fracture appeared on its surface.

The cracks multiplied rapidly, spreading like a web. Chunks of stone began flaking off. Finally, with a boom, the exquisite statue collapsed into a pile of rubble and dust.

The statue had been formed from the Beast God’s own power, intimately linked to the Beast Garden world, an extension of her will.

And now it had shattered.

What did this mean…

“What has happened!?” Black-Robed Attendant’s voice cracked as he roared.

“Lord Attendant… the Beast Garden… it’s gone!?” Patriarch Joreis stammered in trembling disbelief.

While Patriarch Joreis led the crowd to the Beast God Temple, Debbie, Resha, Green, and Guni had quietly slipped away from the magical beast family estate. To avoid suspicion, Debbie left Jacob, Dani, and Silas behind as cover.

They hurried back to the Casually Named Magic Guild castle with anxious hearts.

The ball the baby had been holding had suddenly vanished earlier, meaning Ye Chong’s Beast Channeling had succeeded. According to his plan, he should have used Celtic to open a gate to the secret realm, herded all the beasts there, then returned via the portal he recently built in the castle basement.

The moment they stepped into the castle and caught that warm, rich, fragrant aroma, all their worry evaporated.

They rushed into the main hall, heading for the basement portal, when a rather dishevelled and exhausted-looking Ye Chong poked his head out from the kitchen. He grinned at everyone and waved.

“You’re back! Come quick, try this. Fresh turtle-blood tofu hotpot, straight out of the pot. It’s delicious and ridiculously nourishing.”

Standing beside him, the adorable little girl glared at Ye Chong with fiery eyes full of outrage…

She truly had not expected this hateful bastard to actually turn her precious, power-filled turtle blood into food… and the worst part was, it was absolutely delicious!
