Code Mage Chapter 410

High above the battlefield, inside the flying magical construct.

Debbie, Green, and the others sat in the cockpit’s magic-supply seats, continuously feeding energy into the colossal machine. They all wished they could fight shoulder-to-shoulder with Ye Chui down below, but Ye Chui clearly had a plan and had told them to stay aloft providing aerial support.

From the start until now, however, they had received no signal from Ye Chui. They could only watch the chaos below with growing anxiety until, at last, an instruction arrived from Ye Chui via iPad. Of course, although Green, Debbie, and the rest were supplying the power, full control of the gigantic magical construct still rested with Ye Chui. He had simply used the iPad to tell them what to do next.

A fully-charged magic missile streaked out!

Green cast teleportation magic and delivered the missile right beside Elisa.

In the instant Elisa was forced to turn intangible by the explosion, Ye Chui broke free from his grip.

A ferocious blast erupted where Ye Chui and Elisa had stood. This was an attack strong enough to kill a desert giant turtle with just two shots. The shockwave instantly reduced several buildings along King’s Avenue to rubble. Scorching heat rolled outward. Everyone nearby scrambled to take cover. The Spirits of Faith, their minds incomplete, had no time to evade the terrifying blast. Instead they bared their fangs and brandished their claws at the flames, only to be incinerated moments later.

A fearsome mushroom cloud rose into the sky, reflecting the stunned expressions of countless onlookers.

“This, this…” Through the display screen, the old emperor and Prince Geller saw the scene below. They were so shocked they could not speak, their eyes blankly shifting towards Debbie and the others.

Debbie’s face was full of pride. “That level of explosion is actually on the small side. Ye Chui can make ones several times bigger.”

“Yield?” Neither Prince Geller nor the old emperor understood the term, but several times more powerful than this?

Green pointed at the screen, where Ye Chui stood with both arms raised, clearly preparing his strongest attack, [Explosion is Justice]. “The boss is about to unleash his most devastating move right now!”

The old emperor’s face immediately paled. “Then won’t my palace, no, the entire capital be destroyed?”

“Don’t worry, Ye Chui knows what he’s doing,” Debbie quickly reassured her two old friends. Then, in a much smaller voice, she added, “Probably?”

The explosion had obliterated half of King’s Avenue. Fortunately all civilians had already been evacuated, so there were no innocent casualties. Only a few swordsmen and magic mentors unlucky enough to be caught in the blast were reduced to ash, unavoidable losses in war. Far more Spirits of Faith perished in the inferno.

Of course, this did not stop those dreadful things from continuing to crawl out of the spatial gate.

Ye Chui’s figure appeared atop a tall tower. Breathing slightly heavily, he condensed the nuke in his hands. What had once been called [Insufficient-Yield Nuclear Bomb] had, with the growth of Ye Chui’s realm, evolved into [Full-Yield Nuclear Bomb], meaning Ye Chui could now create a nuclear bomb, more accurately a magic nuke, at one hundred percent power.

It would consume sixty percent of his magic reserves, because the destructive force was truly immense, enough to level the entire capital and countless surrounding regions.

However, unlike a real nuclear bomb, this spell produced no horrific radiation. Until Ye Chui fully formed it, it would not detonate uncontrollably. Even once completed, it required Ye Chui’s mental command to trigger the full explosion.

Farther away, Elisa’s figure reappeared.

Moments earlier he had instantly turned into a body of faith to evade the blast, but parts of him had still been affected. The arm that had grabbed the magic missile now hung useless at his side. He glanced at the ruined limb, his face twisting with utmost fury.

“Ye Chui! Blasphemer! You shall suffer divine wrath!”

With a roar he shot towards Ye Chui once more.

But suddenly a terrifying dragon phantom swept in from the side like a living creature, jaws wide, lunging to swallow Elisa whole.

Sherar had acted. He could tell Ye Chui’s move might decide the battle, so he bought him time. His dragon phantom could not truly harm Elisa, but as a half-step Saint-level expert who had touched the realm of faith incarnation, he could entangle Elisa for a short while, though it clearly cost him dearly.

“Whatever you’re planning, hurry!” he shouted at Ye Chui.

“Thank you,” Ye Chui replied softly, eyes returning to his hands. The magic nuke had taken shape.

A nuclear bomb, the ultimate weapon from the world Ye Chui had transmigrated from, possessed power that could destroy nations or even the planet itself. In this world its might was terrifying, yet not absolutely supreme. If Elisa were prepared, the magic nuke could not kill him outright. Saint-level Magic Mentors and Sword Saints could withstand its force.

The magic nuke was merely invincible against anything below Saint level.

But it possessed one supreme characteristic: its horrifying area-of-effect damage.

Elisa might resist it, but the Spirits of Faith could not.

Ye Chui’s goal in condensing this magic nuke was to annihilate the army of Spirits of Faith.

The next instant he appeared directly before the spatial gate. With both hands he pushed the magic nuke inside.

According to Ye Chui’s deduction, the other side of the gate should be a unique otherworld similar to the Realm of Death, one that sustained Spirits of Faith. Elisa could summon so many because he held the authority to open that realm.

Within that Spirit of Faith world lay a terrifying army, one of the Church’s greatest trump cards against imperial forces.

Ye Chui’s target was precisely that army.

Since the Star Empire was now at war with the Church, Ye Chui had to prepare for the battles to come.

“No!” Elisa instantly grasped Ye Chui’s intention and let out a cry tinged with fear. Countless Spirits of Faith surged madly, trying to prevent the magic nuke from entering their world.

Ye Chui stood at the gate’s entrance, using wind magic to propel the nuke deeper, but under the endless onslaught of Spirits of Faith it kept being forced back out.

He had to ensure the nuke was fully inside before detonating it; otherwise the shockwave could destroy the entire capital.

“It’s no good. I can’t get it all the way in…” Fatigue began to show on Ye Chui’s face.

Sherar would not be able to hold Elisa much longer.

At that critical moment, another armoured figure suddenly flew to Ye Chui’s side. It was the modified Iron Man. Earlier Elisa had destroyed his suit, reducing him to an ordinary man, but restoring a heroic spirit cost only a few hundred points.

The moment Elisa began his rampage, Ye Chui had already restored his power.

Iron Man charged straight into the spatial gate, wrapped his arms around the magic nuke, and carried it deep into the dark world beyond.

The Hulk also rushed over, planted himself beneath the gate, and roared repeatedly, waiting for Iron Man to emerge.

This felt… awfully familiar.

Then Ye Chui decisively triggered the magic nuke.

Yes, Iron Man died a hero’s death.

He could simply be resummoned later anyway.

Sun-like blinding light poured from the gate. Ye Chui swiftly shielded his eyes from the glare. A terrifying explosion boomed from within. Cracks spider-webbed across the gate’s edges. The pressure from the blast nearly shattered space itself. The escaping shockwave formed a beam of light that swept forward, carving a massive crater into the ground below.

This lasted less than a second before the spatial gate completely collapsed.

The thunderous roar that had just begun faded into silence before it could spread.

“What… have you done!?” Elisa’s voice rose into an inhuman screech. He tore apart the dragon phantom wrapped around him. His white hair whipped wildly in the wind. Though his body remained sanctified, it now radiated the bloodlust of the most wicked demon. Step by step he advanced towards Ye Chui.

The rank of Red Archbishop represented both a level of power and an ecclesiastical position within the Church. It granted the authority to open the Spirit of Faith world and summon its warriors. That otherworld contained billions of Spirits of Faith created by the Church over millennia. Every faithful believer, upon death, became a Spirit of Faith, fighting eternally for the Church.

Yet just now, in a single strike, Ye Chui had wiped out nearly tens of thousands of them!

The Spirit of Faith world was the Church’s imitation of the Realm of Death, but far less miraculous. Spirits of Faith that died there stayed dead. Never before had anyone slaughtered so many in one blow!

Ye Chui panted lightly. Seeing Elisa’s rage, he knew his attack had been devastatingly effective. Now it was time to send Elisa into the Realm of Death.

Five minutes had passed. Guibo should have successfully opened the entrance by now.

Ye Chui’s body vanished in an instant, reappearing inside a ruined civilian house.

The room was in shambles, piled with rubble.

The Z-tier goddess Akuya was squatting in a corner, peering out through a crack, looking immensely pleased with herself. “Hiding here really is the safest. No one will ever find me. That horrible guy…”

Then Ye Chui appeared right in front of her.

“Goddess, time to get to work.”
