Code Mage Chapter 411

Elisa appeared in front of the damaged house. With a wave of her hand, the entire building completely collapsed, but Ye Chui and Aqua’s figures had already vanished. They reappeared on the other side of the main street. Ye Chui was carrying Aqua by the scruff of her neck, while Aqua flailed her limbs, her face streaked with tears as she wailed and cried out loudly.

Seeing the pair, Elisa’s cold expression turned as frigid as the blizzard winds of the far north. Her body transformed into a white streak as she charged towards them.

The spatial gate that summoned the Spirits of Faith had been destroyed by Ye Chui, yet some Spirits of Faith were still rampaging around. Most people remained entangled with these creatures, though more now breathed a brief sigh of relief. They began frantically besieging Elisa. The battle had ignited true fury in many. Even the previously timid mercenaries and guild members were growing bold.

Their attacks, however, could not hinder Elisa for even a moment. With a casual wave, her strange and unpredictable strikes utterly crushed them. Only a handful of exceptionally high-level individuals could block her for a fleeting second.

Ye Chui, carrying Aqua, raced towards the southern end of King’s Avenue. There, Turtle Treasure had already opened the entrance to the Necropolis, waiting for Elisa to fall into the trap.

Elisa’s body flickered, effortlessly evading the combined assault of several five-star guild presidents and mercenary commanders from the royal capital. Those attackers were powerful, their strikes barely brushing the realm of Holy Magi or Cardinal, capable of injuring Elisa, yet only just. Faced with such feeble threats, she dodged with ease.

All her burning rage was directed solely at Ye Chui and Aqua, these blasphemers.

“Stop right there!” Their figures appeared before her, and she roared.

Her words became reality.

Crash!

Under the power of her speech, the buildings on both sides of the street collapsed. The ground cracked with fissures like dried riverbeds. Ye Chui, still holding Aqua, froze completely, turning into statues that then shattered.

Elisa appeared before them, her white eyebrows slightly raised. She realised the figures she had immobilised with her word were merely wooden replicas created by Ye Chui’s Wood Escape magic. Looking up, she saw Ye Chui and Aqua on the rooftop of a nearby building, sprinting towards the southern street.

Ye Chui’s body kept flickering. Each appearance lasted no more than a tenth of a second. He used Kamui Intangibility for teleportation while constantly creating wooden clones through Wood Escape. Shadows overlapped heavily, making it impossible for Elisa to tell real from fake.

“Put me down! I want to go home! I want to go home!” Aqua’s shouts echoed continuously. With Ye Chui’s constant teleportation, her voice seemed to produce several subtle overlapping echoes.

“Stop messing around!” Ye Chui shouted back at Aqua. “I’m taking you home right now!”

“Eh? Really?” Aqua rubbed her eyes with both hands, her face filled with gratitude.

“None of you will escape!” Elisa’s furious roar sliced through the air like a sharp blade from behind. The moment Ye Chui materialised from teleportation and stood on the street, he sensed the deadly killing intent. He immediately shifted again. Boom! The ancient bluestone pavement, which had borne the weight of the capital’s residents for countless years, received a terrifying blow and shattered into fine sand.

The next instant, Ye Chui finally sensed a trace of the cold aura from the Necropolis. That faint signal came from Turtle Treasure. The entrance linking to the Necropolis lay directly ahead, concealed by Turtle Treasure’s powerful spatial magic. Without her deliberate cue to Ye Chui, no one could ever detect it.

Joy surged in Ye Chui’s heart. He spun halfway and hurled Aqua forward with all his strength.

“Goddess, you go first! Leave this to me!” he shouted.

“Ah? Thank you!” Aqua cheerfully called back in a voice brimming with gratitude as she was thrown into the Necropolis.

Ye Chui swiftly teleported dozens of metres away to the roof of a tall building.

Elisa turned into a bolt of white lightning, rushing towards Aqua. In mid-air, Aqua’s body touched the entrance to the Necropolis and began rapidly disappearing from the head down. No spatial gate was visible, yet it existed, camouflaged by Turtle Treasure.

Elisa followed closely. Compared to Ye Chui, she actually hated Aqua more, for Aqua had defiled her faith in the gods, something intolerable for a Cardinal Archbishop. Seeing Aqua about to vanish, she ignored Ye Chui and charged straight in.

Half her body quickly disappeared into the Necropolis.

But this was Elisa, after all. In that split-second flash, she realised something was wrong. Aqua had clouded her mind, preventing her from noticing this obvious trap until she felt the terrifying, hellish prison-like atmosphere of the Necropolis. She immediately tried to retreat.

Powerful restraints, however, had already locked her body firmly in place. A layer of chaotic matter appeared around her.

This world had originally been chaos. The divine radiance of the Creator God scattered down, giving birth to space, deriving time, and creating all things. Yet chaos reigned above everything. Turtle Treasure was a Chaos Behemoth, the most miraculous chaotic magical beast, innately able to survive in chaos. They could traverse chaos and generate it. Now, she was using chaos to trap Elisa.

From the outside, the front half of Elisa’s body had vanished. Half her head, one leg, and one arm were already deep inside the Necropolis, while her back remained exposed. She struggled constantly, trying to break free from the chaotic restraint.

Turtle Treasure appeared beside Ye Chui. The twin-tailed girl looked weary. “I cannot hold him much longer. Hurry and find a way to push him fully into the Necropolis!”

Ye Chui nodded, appeared behind Elisa’s back, took out a Flying Magic Missile, and fired. Boom! The explosion levelled two nearby buildings, yet Elisa’s body remained unscathed. She still maintained her sanctified form; ordinary attacks were useless.

“In this state, I’m afraid even a punch from a Heroic Spirit couldn’t hurt him,” Ye Chui thought grimly. He saw beads of sweat on Turtle Treasure’s smooth forehead and knew she could not hold out much longer.

An idea suddenly flashed through Ye Chui’s mind.

High in the sky inside the Flying Magic Vehicle, Debbie and the others watched the screen intently. Anxiety gripped them, and some felt an overwhelming urge to rush down and help Ye Chui immediately.

At that moment, Ye Chui’s voice came through the iPad into the cockpit.

“I need you to do something,” Ye Chui said. “In the wall cabinet on the left side of the cockpit, there are some black packages.”

Debbie and Greenton quickly stood and searched. They soon found the packages. Prince Geller asked in confusion, “What are these?”

“One for each of you. Put them on,” Ye Chui continued.

The nine people in the vehicle followed his instructions and donned the backpacks. Backpacks were unknown in this world, but figuring out how to wear them was simple. The black packs were bulky, as if containing something. Greenton noticed a strange pattern on one side that looked like… an umbrella?

“Resha!” Ye Chui called next.

“Big brother, what do you need me to do?” Resha had already put on her backpack. Its tight fit made her chest appear even more impressive. She clutched her holy scripture.

“I need you to cast a layer of faith protection over the Flying Magic Vehicle.”

“Faith power?” Resha asked doubtfully. “My power cannot harm Elisa at all. At most, it can slightly affect his faith body.”

“That’s enough,” Ye Chui said confidently. “Just do it quickly.”

Resha immediately began chanting scripture. With a solemn expression, she placed her hands on the floor. “This old lady’s got you covered!” A hazy white light swiftly enveloped the entire vehicle.

“Then Jacob,” Ye Chui said rapidly. “Apply as much gravity as you possibly can to the vehicle.”

“Got it, President,” Jacob replied at once.

The Flying Magic Vehicle now hovered hundreds of metres in the sky. From below, the tiny black dot gleamed faintly like a star in daylight.

Then the glowing speck began to wobble. It was diving.

The vehicle plummeted like a meteor. Its dozens of tons of mass rapidly friction-heated the air, creating a layer of red at the front.

Flames erupted.

“Aaaaaah!” Everyone inside screamed.

Whoosh! The cabin door suddenly opened.

Ye Chui’s voice rang out. “Now jump and escape. Oh, don’t forget to open your parachutes when you jump.”

The nine people inside: “…!?”

The rapidly descending vehicle turned red, trailing a band of fire.

Several black shadows silently leapt out. Debbie and the others were parachuting to safety as instructed. Of course, they were not ordinary people. Even without parachutes, falling from that height would not necessarily kill them, but the parachutes ensured greater safety.

Among them, Jacob could summon Constantine to warp space for a safe landing. Greenton’s spatial magic could invert space. Jacob’s own gravity magic could make their bodies light as feathers. The parachutes were merely an extra precaution.

Inside the plummeting vehicle, now devoid of the nine people’s magic supply yet still holding stored power, Ye Chui could adjust its collision course while it continued accelerating, accelerating, accelerating…

Ye Chui, together with Turtle Treasure and Celty, had already fled far away. They watched the vehicle transform into a massive fireball smashing down from the sky.

Countless people looked up at this apocalyptic scene as the meteor-like object crashed with doomsday might.

At that critical moment, Elisa finally broke free from the chaotic bindings. Cracks forcibly split open around her body as she began pulling herself back from the Necropolis. Yet, in that hair’s-breadth instant, boom! The terrifying crash struck her.

The immense impact turned the ground into ripples on a pond struck by a stone. Shockwaves spread outward, collapsing buildings. The force alone reduced sturdy stone walls to ash. The vehicle carried Resha’s faith blessing. That faint layer of faith power was negligible to Elisa. Their faiths differed in essence, yet shared the same origin. To her, it felt like grains of sand brushing against a window.

But when those grains were propelled by meteor-level force, even the slightest touch became devastating.

Panic appeared on Elisa’s face. Her sanctified, faith-based body was intangible and immune to physical collision. For a moment, the vehicle seemed to pass straight through her. However, the faith enchantment on board, the “This old lady’s got you covered” shield, still affected her intangible form.

That tiny friction, amplified by overwhelming impact, dragged her completely into the Necropolis.

Dust gradually settled.

“We did it!” Celty’s head exclaimed. “That old fellow is locked in the Necropolis!”

Ye Chui stared at the massive crater in the ground, littered with wreckage of the Flying Magic Vehicle. Feeling the lingering shockwaves and the earth’s faint tremors, his face twisted with heartache. “Damn it, the Flying Magic Vehicle I bought for twenty thousand points is gone…”

It could be repaired with points, but in this state, the repair cost would probably rival buying a new one…

He then comforted himself. “But now I’ve unlocked the Marvel Universe series. Maybe next I’ll just unlock the Avengers’ dedicated Quinjet…”

Inside the Necropolis, fragments of the vehicle lay scattered across the black earth. A terrifying crater had formed. A dishevelled Elisa crawled out, looking around in horror. Her gaze lifted to the sky, where two moon-like eyes stared down at the ground.

“This place…” Memories of ancient texts in the church archives surfaced. She understood where she was. “The Necropolis. The Necropolis truly exists, and Ye Chui has it under his control. Blasphemer! He must die, he must die!”

Unfortunately, it was too late.

This realm was cut off from faith. Space itself was reinforced by the God of Gods. No one could leave without Celty’s approval, not even the gods worshipped by the church.

And here dwelt…

Elisa looked around. An endless army of the dead slowly encircled her, led by the Spirit Generals created by Ye Chui himself!
