Code Mage Chapter 554

The residents of Moon Bay’s fragment world had meticulously plotted to swallow Stan Town. This fragment world’s strength was not particularly formidable, far inferior to overlord or king-level worlds like Windless City and Kane City. However, Uday was quite shrewd. A few days earlier, when Kas had brought Taran to the central city to exchange supplies, Uday had seen through Taran’s group’s poor character. He contacted them, arranging for Taran to act as an inside agent, drugging old Merlin at the first opportunity so Moon Bay could smoothly establish a Bridge and devour Stan Town in one stroke.

The plan had proceeded smoothly.

Uday had even begun to entertain a faint, beautiful illusion about the future. After swallowing Stan Town, Moon Bay’s ranking would at least rise by a hundred places. Under his leadership, Moon Bay would step by step become an Overlord World, a King World, an Emperor World, and perhaps even enter the most powerful God-level World… Ah, the world was truly wonderful.

Yet reality proved far too cruel.

He had led Moon Bay’s elite to Stan Town, only to crash head-on into the terrifying enemy named Ye Chui. In the moments before his death, hearing Ye Chui’s words, Uday felt a profound sense of injury. Their entire elite force had been reduced to nothing more than target practice dummies for Ye Chui!

This was bullying taken too far!!!

Uday died with his eyes wide open in grievance…

Ye Chui had handed the modified firearms to Kas, Ross, and the others because he knew Stan Town was about to face invasions and attacks from Windless City, Kane City, and possibly other fragment worlds. He needed everyone to seize every moment to hone their combat abilities. Of course, Ye Chui did not distribute the modified firearms carelessly. Only those he trusted and had good relations with, such as Ross, Hart, Gayton, Matt, and Rayni, received weapons from him.

Following Ye Chui’s words, Debbie, Green, and the others began firing at Moon Bay’s warriors.

The other residents of Stan Town scattered in panic in all directions. In this medieval-style town, a gunfight suddenly erupted. The firearms were simple to use. After Ross, Gayton, and the others received them and observed how Ye Chui, Debbie, and the rest operated them, they quickly grasped the method. Precise shooting right from the start was somewhat difficult, though.

But for those who already possessed sufficient marksmanship experience, it was not hard. For example, the crossbowman Matt. After missing a few shots, he rapidly found the knack. From then on, almost every gunshot brought down one of Moon Bay’s people. He seemed a natural-born sharpshooter.

Bang, bang, bang, rat-tat-tat, da-da-da-da…

All sorts of sounds intertwined.

Ye Chui felt his blood surging. Most of Moon Bay’s warriors were terrified out of their wits and only knew to hide everywhere. A few bold ones tried to charge toward them, but they soon fell under the hail of gunfire.

Suddenly, Ye Chui had an inspiration. He opened his iPad, searched his resource library for a song, unlocked it, and played it.

It is worth mentioning that although Ye Chui’s music player was not sealed, the BGM effects, like those magic spells, were sealed. To obtain the BGM buff effect, he still needed to unlock it with Sky Ladder points. In the Sin Continent, all power required Sky Ladder points as its foundation. Even if Ye Chui unlocked a new BGM, making it take effect would require further Sky Ladder unlocking.

However, some BGMs inherently possessed an uplifting power. Hearing them would subconsciously make one’s blood boil. For instance, the shocking divine song Ye Chui had just unlocked.

This was a song called “The Warrior Song,” translated as the Song of the Warrior.

It was a recruitment song from America in Ye Chui’s previous life, heavy metal rock with a dynamic rhythm, an explosive track, and an utterly cold style.

Look at its lyrics:

I am a killing machine armed to the teeth, green light flashing as your blood sprays.

Do not doubt it, this is my territory.

I control both realms of life and death, my feet striding across great river basins.

When you charge toward me, I smile with contempt.

Because victory belongs to me. I am a top-tier assassin, about to send you to your death!

America used this song to stir up their sense of world justice, brainwashing countless young men to march onto battlefields.

Its cold, domineering, and inviolable aura fitted the current situation of Stan Town perfectly. Countless fragment worlds likely regarded Stan Town as easy prey and were about to launch invasions here. But this was his territory. If you want to invade, then come. To defend this place, I will become a killing machine, a top-tier assassin!

Although this song lacked the BGM buff effect, and its cold lyrics were incomprehensible to everyone here, its shocking melody seemed to sync with the gunshots, forming a unique, chilling rhythm.

Ye Chui turned the iPad’s volume to maximum. Everyone felt their blood boiling.

Stan Town instantly transformed into a slaughterhouse, a one-sided massacre. The hundred Moon Bay warriors plus Taran and the others’ dozens were nowhere near enough for them to kill.

Ye Chui’s song had only just finished when the battle ended amid everyone’s lingering excitement.

Corpses littered the plaza, most of them Moon Bay warriors. As for Taran and his group, although their actions were infuriating, they had once been people of Stan Town. Neither Kas’s side nor Ye Chui’s had killed them, only wounding a few.

Of course, Kas spared Taran out of lingering old ties. Ye Chui’s decision not to kill them was not out of kindness. He wanted them to live a fate worse than death.

Ye Chui reluctantly turned off The Warrior Song, cradled his firearm, and walked over to Kas, Ross, and the others. Back when Ye Chui had first transmigrated and met the silly girl Debbie, they had not even had food to eat. It was thanks to Ross and Gayton’s mercenary team that they joined missions and earned their first income. To Ross and the others, Ye Chui and Debbie felt an immense closeness.

After the embraces, Green excitedly rushed into the crowd. He saw old Merlin being supported out by several townsfolk.

The old great mage looked even older than when they had left Stan Town, especially after being drugged unconscious by Taran’s group earlier, which had left him visibly frail. But upon seeing Ye Chui, Green, and the others, he still showed a gratified smile. His old eyes brimmed with tears as he patted Green’s shoulder. Although Green was famous across the continent for his bald head and brick, he was, after all, old Merlin’s personal disciple, something that filled the old man with immense pride.

Windsor, the daughter of Wind Rock City’s lord, also came out holding her and Kas’s daughter. Compared to their last parting, she looked much thinner, but becoming a mother had made her appear more mature. Debbie, Lesa, Guni, and the others curiously went to hold the baby, though in the end the little one clearly preferred being held by Lesa. This left Debbie and Guni staring at their own chests with deep frustration…

“How should we deal with these people?” Kas asked Ye Chui at that moment, looking at Taran and the others. His expression was somewhat helpless. After Stan Town was exiled, everyone had endured hardships together to survive. Yet Taran’s group’s actions had gone too far!

Taran had been shot in the leg, half his body stained with blood. He cried out and threw himself at Ye Chui’s feet, pleading, “Mr Ye Chui, President Ye Chui, we were wrong. From now on we will listen to whatever you say. Please do not kill us, we beg you…”

Ye Chui shook his head with contempt and said coldly, “Rest assured, I will not kill you.”

Taran’s face immediately lit up with joy.

Yet Ye Chui’s tone shifted at once. “However, since you decided to abandon Stan Town, there is no longer a place for you here! Leave this place. Go to Moon Bay’s world!”

These words froze the expression on Taran’s face.

Ye Chui coldly pointed at the corpses of Moon Bay’s warriors and said to Taran and the others, “Collect all these bodies cleanly and pile them here. When you leave later, do not forget to take them with you.”

“Ye Chui, what are you planning to do?” Debbie asked.

“Of course, send them all back to Moon Bay. Leaving corpses here would ruin the scenery,” Ye Chui explained. His eyes swept over Taran and the others with icy coldness. Taran’s group would be exiled to Moon Bay. Ye Chui did not want to kill Taran personally, but sending Taran back along with the corpses of Uday, Moon Bay’s master, and so many warriors… how could Moon Bay possibly spare them?

Moon Bay was merely a world ranked seven hundred and fifty. The hundred-man team they had just sent was likely their main elite force. Now completely annihilated in one go, that fragment world was essentially finished. As the chief culprits who caused all this, Moon Bay’s people would probably kill Taran and his group in the most brutal ways imaginable!

Realising what Ye Chui intended, Taran’s face turned ashen. He immediately tried to plead again, but Xile Si had already aimed a large sniper rifle at his head.

Although Xile Si looked like a flirtatious big-sister type with yellow hair, she was not lacking in ruthlessness. She smiled coldly and said, “Do you want to test the power of this big gun?”

Taran shuddered all over, offered no further objections, and hurriedly began gathering the corpses with his companions.

Ye Chui scanned the surroundings. He saw that most of Stan Town’s residents looked sallow and thin. Over the past half month they had suffered terribly, barely eating enough. Ye Chui sighed softly, then began pouring items out of his and Green’s storage spaces alongside Green: loaves of bread, chunks of fresh barbarian bull meat and magical beast meat, various pastries, fine wine, fruits, vegetables…

Some were brought from the outside world, some exchanged in the central city.

Ye Chui announced loudly to the crowd around them, “Everyone, no need to worry about going hungry anymore. We are holding a banquet right now. Just be careful not to overeat, okay…” He noticed Taran and the others standing stiffly and changed his tone. “Hey, what are you lot still standing there for? Get to work. The banquet is not for you anyway.”

Taran and the others: “…”

They had perfectly grasped what it meant to live a fate worse than death.
