“Fuck?”
Although he had seen Ronnie’s movements and already had a premonition, Lu Zheng still could not help but swear. “Has he just given up on treatment?”
“Oh no!”
Lin Wan’s expression changed; she tried the cabin door on her side, but it was still locked tight.
“Bastard!” Lu Zheng frowned.
You say, before you left, why didn’t you open the rear cabin doors for us too, so we could jump out early as well?
Even if we jumped into the sea, the survival rate wouldn’t be high, but it would be better than crashing into the sea with the helicopter, wouldn’t it?
You talked on the radio for so long, had enough time to unbuckle your seatbelt and open your own door, but you just ignored us?
Lu Zheng’s eyes turned cold; watching Ronnie’s figure as he jumped out, he flicked his finger, and a curse seal attached itself to him.
Inside the helicopter, as the distance to the sea surface grew closer, Lin Wan unbuckled her own and Lu Zheng’s seatbelts, pushing Lu Zheng to go through the gap between the front seats. “Go from the front!”
After the initial moment of panic, it was clear that Lin Wan had regained her composure and calmness.
“There are many yachts nearby; we can definitely be rescued!”
“It’s fine; go this way!”
Lu Zheng picked up the backpack on the left, slung it over his back, then reached behind their seats and lifted the suitcase.
“What are you doing with that at a time like this?” Lin Wan said anxiously.
Then, she saw Lu Zheng brace his right foot on the ground, tilt his body, and kick the left rear cabin door of the helicopter with his left foot.
“Bang!”
The cabin door flew right off.
Lin Wan: (⊙o⊙)
“Let’s go!”
Lu Zheng held the suitcase in one hand and pulled Lin Wan with the other; with a leap, he shot out of the cabin.
In mid-air, with a bit more space, Lu Zheng reached out and pulled Lin Wan into his arms.
He stepped several times in the void and actually caught up to the cabin door he had just kicked off.
With a nudge of his foot, he turned the door so that the curved outer side faced down, then he and Lin Wan stood on the inner side.
In the next moment, the two stood on the cabin door, using it as a stepping pad, and smashed into the sea surface together.
“Thud!”
The cabin door entered the water at an angle, splashing up a large wave and leaving a long trail.
True qi circulated in Lu Zheng’s body, protecting not only himself but also Lin Wan; the two were completely unaffected by the impact.
Then, with a contact area of more than three square metres and Lu Zheng controlling the balance, the cabin door skimmed across the sea, creating a water mark; after offsetting the impact force, it slowly floated on the surface.
Lu Zheng and Lin Wan, standing on the cabin door, only got wet below the knees; their upper bodies, thanks to Lu Zheng secretly using a water-repelling technique, did not get a single drop of water on them.
In the next moment…
“Boom!”
The two turned back and saw the helicopter plunge headfirst into the sea dozens of metres away, then rapidly sink, creating a not-so-small whirlpool on the surface.
Lu Zheng frowned; true qi surged into the cabin door beneath his feet, and the door sailed away from the direction of the helicopter’s crash.
A moment later, Lu Zheng turned back and saw Lin Wan looking at him with a face full of shock.
“Uh…” Lu Zheng was thinking about how he should explain.
In the next moment, Lin Wan suddenly pounced on him, wrapping her arms around Lu Zheng’s neck, and kissed him fiercely.
…
Phi Phi Island, the resort.
When Lu Zheng and Lin Wan came to check in and incidentally informed them about the helicopter incident, they were met with looks from the hotel staff as if they were gods, along with utmost care and concern.
Their clothes were neat, their bodies dry; Lu Zheng held a cup of freshly bought fruit juice in his hand, and Lin Wan even held a sun umbrella, leisurely, as if they had just gone out for a bit of sun and were now back for lunch.
The hotel had known about the helicopter incident right away, after all, since Ronnie had been in contact with them.
So the hotel had notified the coast guard at the fastest speed and even sent out several speedboats to the accident area for rescue.
However, everyone only found the pilot Ronnie, while the two guests were nowhere to be found.
According to Ronnie, who was shivering all over and kept saying he was cold, it was because the incident happened suddenly, and the two guests didn’t even have time to unbuckle their seatbelts.
So the coast guard had sent down divers, preparing to salvage the helicopter and search for the two bodies.
But…
According to Lu Zheng’s account, the helicopter shattered upon entering the water; the two of them happened to be thrown out along with the cabin door, and then they used the helicopter cabin door as a boat, drifting all the way to Phi Phi Island.
Do you take us for fools?
The hotel and the coast guard arrived at Phi Phi Island at the fastest speed and found the cabin door wreckage on a beach there.
Although they seriously doubted what Lu Zheng and Lin Wan said, with Ronnie’s testimony beforehand being favourable to them, and since there were no victims in this matter.
If they really investigated strictly and the news broke out, it would definitely be a major liability for the hotel.
Thus, with no one willing to pursue it further, they could only wish Lu Zheng and Lin Wan a pleasant stay; the hotel even waived all their accommodation fees for this trip.
So…
“Does that mean this trip is free for us?”
“Forget it; I don’t want to experience this kind of free trip again. It almost cost us our lives!”
At this moment, after dealing with everyone, Lu Zheng and Lin Wan snuggled on a large rock by the sea, watching the distant sunset over the ocean.
Lin Wan paused. “Lu Zheng~”
“Hm?”
“That ‘Eighteen Styles of Carrying Mountains’ of yours isn’t ordinary national martial arts, is it.”
Lu Zheng nodded, saying calmly. “That’s right; it’s not.”
Lin Wan smiled at the corner of her mouth, leaning sideways on Lu Zheng’s shoulder. “I feel like I’m the female lead in a novel now, accidentally finding a superman as a boyfriend.”
“You are the female lead.” Lu Zheng tightened his arm around Lin Wan, while inwardly adding. “One of them.”
“Then why did you fall for me?” Lin Wan looked up at Lu Zheng’s profile, feeling he looked more handsome the more she saw. “I’m a police officer, you know…”
“Not afraid.” Lu Zheng laughed. “Because I trust you.”
Lin Wan reached out to hug Lu Zheng’s waist, unable to hide the smile on her face.
But she didn’t continue on that topic; instead, she asked. “If I master this ‘Eighteen Styles of Carrying Mountains’, can I become as powerful as you?”
“Keep drinking the lingzhi wine I gave you; once you master it, you can easily handle something like today.”
“Really! Then wouldn’t I be able to beat several Jackie Chans?”
“Dozens wouldn’t be a problem.”
Lin Wan couldn’t help but laugh again. “I was just making a casual comparison; the way you say it, it feels like big brother is almost becoming a unit of measurement?”
Lin Wan knew Lu Zheng had secrets, and as she got to know him more deeply, she increasingly realised she had underestimated his secrets.
But Lin Wan was a smart woman; she would never actively probe, but instead present herself completely openly to Lu Zheng.
Lu Zheng trusted her, and she trusted Lu Zheng, leaving everything to feelings and time.
…
As the sun set in the west, under the glow of the evening clouds, the shadows of the two snuggling on the large rock stretched longer and longer, gradually merging into one.
“Woo—”
