“Welcome, two Interpol officers from China!”
Sha Dun extended both arms in a welcoming gesture, and this time, he spoke pure Chinese, very fluent.
“Of course, and my compatriot, Interpol officer Pu Chawang from Mian Country!”
At this moment, Pu Chawang also boarded the yacht under the coercion of another bodyguard, though he dared not look at Lu Zheng and Lin Wan.
“This way please!”
Then Lu Zheng and Lin Wan were escorted into the yacht’s living room.
Sha Dun waved his hand, and one of the bodyguards went to start the boat. Then he walked into the living room surrounded by the others and sat on the large sofa on the other side.
He tilted his head slightly, and a bodyguard snatched Lin Wan’s bag and took the phone from Lu Zheng’s pocket, handing them to Sha Dun.
Sha Dun placed the handbag and phone aside without immediately checking them. Instead, he looked at Pu Chawang, then at Lu Zheng and Lin Wan, and asked curiously, “How exactly did you save him?”
You see, he had thrown Pu Chawang into the vast sea at the time. Even if they had set off immediately after and rushed over by speedboat to rescue him, it would have been impossible to save Pu Chawang who had been in the water for so long.
“Were you in the sea the whole time? Perhaps using an underwater propeller?”
As Sha Dun asked this, the bodyguard next to him walked in with a device, “Boss, within five hundred metres around, there are no trackers below the sea surface.”
Sha Dun nodded, crossed his legs, and said with a smile, “I hear you obtained information about my previous transaction?”
Sha Dun shrugged, “Unfortunately, that was just us acting, a little joke. I think if you go to the transaction location, you won’t find anything.”
Lu Zheng raised an eyebrow. He even knows “drama queen”, so this guy is quite familiar with China?
Lin Wan glanced at Pu Chawang, thinking that since he already knew the transaction information was exposed, they naturally wouldn’t proceed with the original plan.
And once there was no catching red-handed, the video she recorded earlier would have no meaning.
Seeing Lin Wan’s silent expression, Sha Dun was delighted, “But I do want to see what exactly you recorded?”
He casually picked up Lu Zheng’s phone and looked at Lu Zheng, “Password?”
“201314.”
“Oh my, love you for life, you two are a couple huh.” Sha Dun laughed. Sure enough, it unlocked Lu Zheng’s phone. Then he looked at Lin Wan, “And yours?”
“665201.”
Sha Dun blinked and looked at Lu Zheng, “Looks like she doesn’t like you much.”
Lu Zheng pursed his lips, “Idiot, it’s a homophone for Lu Lu I love you.”
Lin Wan’s face flushed red.
Sha Dun’s face twitched, and the others felt stuffed with a mouthful of dog food.
“Interesting. As expected of Chinese police, you’re not afraid at all.” Sha Dun looked at Pu Chawang and laughed, “Much stronger than this guy.”
Pu Chawang hung his head, not daring to look up.
Lin Wan snorted coldly, “From the hotel to the pier, it’s all under surveillance. What do you dare do to us?”
Sha Dun raised an eyebrow, “Is that your basis for not being afraid?”
Lin Wan looked at Sha Dun, “Can’t it be?”
“It can, of course it can!”
As soon as Sha Dun finished speaking, his secretary walked in from outside and nodded.
“Let me introduce, this is my secretary, Wa Si Ya, graduated from the National University of Singapore, majoring in computer science.”
Lu Zheng’s eyes flashed, “Hacker?”
Sha Dun nodded proudly, “Sorry, he’s a top-tier hacker.”
Lu Zheng understood and chuckled, “So you’re fearless for a reason.”
Sha Dun shrugged, “Theoretically speaking, from the moment you stepped into the hotel lobby, you’ve already vanished from the surveillance footage.”
The secretary glanced at the few of them and quietly stood beside Sha Dun.
…
After the chit-chat, Sha Dun first checked Lu Zheng’s phone all over and found nothing.
Then he picked up Lin Wan’s phone, unlocked it casually, and opened the gallery to flip through.
The next moment, Sha Dun’s pupils contracted sharply.
“How is that possible!?”
Sha Dun looked at the video playing on the phone, feeling his hair stand on end all over, “How did you record this!?”
The main perspective of the video was not far from where they were chatting during the transaction, in the same living room, yet he hadn’t noticed at all!
More importantly, when Sonny paid the deposit, the video camera actually moved, shifting behind him to capture the payment screen, recording the account and amount in full!
This video made it impossible for Sha Dun to maintain his calm state. He immediately dumped everything from Lin Wan’s bag onto the table and searched carefully.
After searching for a moment with nothing found, Sha Dun suddenly looked up, “How did you do it? Optical invisibility or insect robot?”
Lin Wan raised her delicate eyebrows, “You know quite a bit!”
“I have dual master’s degrees from Oxford in chemistry and mechanical engineering.” Sha Dun said coldly.
Lu Zheng and Lin Wan were both stunned and exchanged glances. They hadn’t expected Sha Dun to have such high education.
But…
What use was that?
Did he know invisibility spells too?
Finding nothing at all in Lu Zheng and Lin Wan’s bags, Sha Dun circled the yacht living room three full times without discovering anything. Only then did he catch his breath and gradually calm down.
Chinese technology is very advanced these days. Recording a video without him noticing wasn’t unacceptable. He just needed to be more careful in the future.
What a close call. If he hadn’t recaptured Pu Chawang this time, he might really have been done for!
Thinking of this, Sha Dun smiled slightly, picked up the Romanée-Conti on the table, poured some wine into a tall-stemmed glass, and handed it to Pu Chawang.
Pu Chawang instinctively took it, then Sha Dun clinked glasses with him, “Thanks!”
Sha Dun tilted his head back and drained it.
Pu Chawang only then reacted, feeling he couldn’t drink nor not drink…
Ignoring Pu Chawang, Sha Dun turned to Lu Zheng and Lin Wan.
“Hmm?”
Sha Dun noticed that Lu Zheng and Lin Wan still showed no expression.
“I never commit crimes in China.” Sha Dun laughed, “This is the safest third country for me. Hmm, Pu Chawang isn’t a Chinese citizen, so he’s not under your protection.”
He took out two more glasses from the table and poured one for Lu Zheng and Lin Wan each.
“Care for a drink?”
Lin Wan said flatly, “Once Pu Chawang entered China through visa, he is under China’s protection.”
“Oh?” Sha Dun raised an eyebrow, “So no room for negotiation?”
Lin Wan looked at Sha Dun, “I am a police officer.”
Pu Chawang swallowed on the side, feeling his heart pounding.
“Alright! As expected of Chinese police. You are the most faithful officers I’ve ever met. I’ve caught several before but never successfully turned a single one. Such a pity.” Sha Dun sat back on the sofa, shaking his head with a sigh. “Looks like you two are the same. You’d rather die than cooperate with me.”
Lu Zheng’s eyes flashed.
Lin Wan’s gaze sharpened.
“Since that’s the case, as you wish.”
Sha Dun waved his hand, then picked up a glass of red wine and stood, walking out of the living room.
“Move!”
Under the threat of the handgun, the two had to leave the living room and come to the deck.
As soon as the door opened, Lu Zheng smelled a pungent fishy odour.
“This is…”
“Blood?”
Sha Dun smiled faintly, “Cow blood.”
